  • For my birthday I had my family down and we had a good running session.
After running I noticed an eccentric strap had come loose and had fallen on the line. The next day I pushed Elizabeth down to the turntable to make it easier to work from the underside. The videos show the repaired eccentric and other parts of the valve gear up close. I also did some maintenance on the mechanical lubricators. I didn't want to do a commentary this time so any questions please ask in the comments.

Can’t watch this at the moment as a) mildly intoxicated and b) somewhere between Bruxelles and Köln on an ICE…. But I absolutely KNOW I’ll love it!!

Was glad to see steam again. Was a little concerned as we flew past what looked like "DEAD SLOW" speed signs. LOL. Looks like you had a fun birthday.

Another excellent vid! Do you have to do a slow warm up for Elizabeth if she's not been in use for a while? How long does it take to raise steam from cold?

Thanks a lot! I generally give the loco an hour and a half to get to full pressure. I ease it up with a half charged battery on the blower and swap for a fully charged one after a while to give it a nice gentle start from cold.

hello, if its not too much to ask, how long is your line from the shed to the end of the line? we are currently building one on our land that runs through our woodland. we are building all of our locos and rolling stock ourselves. BTW i love your videos and have been watching them since the beginning of the ivy railway.

That's great thank you! Hope your railway comes together well. Mine is approx 80 metres I think.

@@Elvinley thanks for the quick reply, what is the radius of the loop that goes around the shed because i am trying to work out if i can fit a loop at the end of our woodland without cutting down many trees. if you could that would be very helpful - thanks!

@@TieBreaks It's only about 9ft radius from memory. If you use bogie or short wheelbase vehicles you can get away with it.

@@Elvinley yeah we plan on using bogie rolling stock and our loco chassis runs on bogies - thanks
