I love D&D and I love history. So why not smash those two things together and see what kind of abomination rises from the depths.
We like exploring Faerun and Eberron. But we also might like to explore the Silk Road between Constantinople and Chang'an. Historical realism can make fantasy more believable and interesting. And we might learn a thing or two along the way.
We are going to create new player and DM options from the humble arrow to the mighty Excalibur. We'll review books, films, games and anything else we feel like.
Will we create an entire campaign setting where you can play a Mongol horse archer along side your fellow Byzantine Cataphract and a practitioner of Kalaripayattu? That's a stretch goal.
Finally, be nice to DeeDee, our icon. They might be a beefy d12, but they need love too.

NPC. Non-player characters. Sometimes, the unsung heroes of D&D. Sometimes, the annoying bane of the player's existences. Sometimes, the most memorable moment of the campaign wasn't grandstanding villains or heroes blasting out critical hits. It was just hilarious NPCs doing their thing. S...

I feel this so hard with my 12 year old brother who I’ve dmed for a years and it grates on my soul when he gets stuff wrong but I don’t want to look like a unstable rules lawyer
Sounds like he didn't want to be a player.
Me as a forever DM .. man I wish I can be a PC once... 5 mins later..... Mistakes where made
I absolutely based this off a friend who introduced me to D&D and was the forever DM of our group. He could make it 2, maybe 3 sessions before the twitching in his eye became too much.
@@RingXross 🤣 the struggle is real
At least he's being nice about it
Rules lawyers are just forever DMs that just can't escape.
I want to make a twilight domain/circle of the stars cleric/druid multiclass so bad. I don't know what the point will be yet, but I'll think of something.
Twilight is UNSTOPPABLE
Hey, just watch Powerwolf's videos "Sainted by the Storm" and "Sinners of the Seven Seas" 🍺😁
Alright, you guys are officially my fourth favourite Kraken Week video for the Pirates of the Darkwater reference. Time to check out the rest of your channel.
Who else remembers this cartoon. Literally Thundercats, Tigersharks and Silverhawks were very similar and I think the same voice actors were used.
@@SupaSargeakaQ Pretty sure it was the same production company..
@@RingXross I believe so
It’s sad that too many kids don’t know anything about sea monsters, cryptids or prehistoric creatures. What are they teaching kids these days
Nothing fun that's for sure
I want to be part Angler Fish and scare my opponents to death. I also sea this as how Lineages work from VRGtR where this will be added to or supplant your race.
Kids these days, they just don't learn the classics like they used to.
There isn't a boat in the world big enough for that one, buddy.

You get a thumbs up if for nothing else than knowing about Pirates of Darkwater. I was awash with 90’s nostalgia.
Love your review and suggestions. Haven't thought about Pirates of Dark Water for AGES!! I have a bunch of ideas for Kraken week, but most are from my 1st ed homebrew campaign, not 5th ed. One other nautical concept I always though was cool were the sea-faring giants from the chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Especially from the second trilogy.
That reminds me of Frost Giants and their gigantic Longboats.
@@RingXross very much so.
Don't forget to bring a towel
There isn't a towel in the world to save us from this.
RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!! Who needs Shark Week when you have Kraken week.
Should you make videos about a game that hasn’t come out yet and we don’t have all the mechanics and stats for yet? Nope.
Not gonna lie, this is mostly the reason I've avoided doing any one dnd videos despite many other UA-camrs jumping on it. But we finally have some concrete rules and I noticed this interesting trend.
That is Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Stupid. Chaotic Good doesn't rob a man for just doing his job, nor does it include drawing on their face for shiggles (shits and giggles). I get really sick of players justifying their actions with "I'm chaotic good!" You have never once taken a good action, you're just Chaotic.
Shiggles. I'm using that from now on.
Oh my God I had a player literally start a fire in one particular area of a town and buying you like campaigns a little different from a lot of the normal D&D stuff but they're all connected and weird ways so the whole entire Village that a player another player that actually owns the town is now Furious so you have the murder hobos destroying another player's items and they kind of went out for blood for a little bit and then they got slaughtered players turn on the town and oh boy why does they are and put to unconscious State because you can get knocked out if they were you know for some reason they had their weapons she did so they would just do knock out damage so they could do the same exact thing of drawing on the players head things and then they start a fire and then the player Slaughter began
Good or Evil, chaotic is the most fun
In 3rd edition, CG was known as the vigilante. The line between private justice and just being a thief is ever so thin.
That's not true chaotic good. CG would put the chainmail back on the guard after removing his clothes, because while taking his weapons and clothes is fine, you don't just leave a man with no armor. That stuff's expensive.
True, etiquette must be observed.
@@RingXross And if he chafes a little? Well, that should teach him to be a guard for a corrupt government. :P
I've been wondering this myself, I used to do multiclassing for a lil bit in game, and that was really cool, but, I sort of just prefer straight classed characters thematically Even though I have like over a dozen multiclassed builds on D&D beyond, I don't really bring those to actual games anymore Now straight classing will be easier and overall more powerful than before One day I may stop using feats other than origin feats, maybe 1 general feat at level 4 (except for fighters and rogues (who get extra ASIs (as they have done similar stuff there, putting more of the things you need in the base class rather than in exactly great weapon master and sharpshooter I'm just a real big fan overall, also my human fighter with 6 feats at level 10, and still with a 20 STR or DEX is just vibing due to the half feat = general feat mechanic
As long as I get Find Familiar, I'm happy with any class combo
To multiclass or not to multiclass? That is the question.
Okay but honestly that is an awesome Alduin model.
That's not Neutral Good, that's just an egotistical player. Also sounds like the classic "holier than thou" Lawful Good Paladin lol
true i normally play chaotic neutral.
You play neutral good because you enjoy it. I play neutral good because thats my irl alignment. We are not the same.
Oh yeah, you sure want your players to be murder hobos and beholder seducers
Not so much the former, but the latter certainly intrigues me.
@@RingXross Good luck with setting up and roleplaying monster dating simulator.... Actually.... That's sounds like an awesome game idea.....
@@RingXrossBEST COMMENT EVER, cus Yes ...beholder saducers
Never annoy the dm
What is it about the Neutral Good alignment that makes so dead boring.
Boring players
Normoly newer players or new groups who don't know how to play the other types in an RP setting well. and as a person you can more easily put your self in a person's shoes who tries to be good, but won't deicate your life to being good. which makes them "normal", and normal is what we get every day. A person who will greet you when they meet you. but won't go out of there way to give a ride to a random hitchhiker on the road. And as DM we find that common place or boring. We want people who can do things to help us tell a story, and person playing them "safe" dosent do that and takes away from other players who are trying roles that may be a little out there.
I'd rather have a neutral good then "My parents are DEAD and I'm a huge ASSHOLE about it and also a LONEWOLF so you have to put 20 minutes into making me play the game."
@@Justinrainman "A person who will greet you when they meet you. but won't go out of there way to give a ride to a random hitchhiker on the road. " That sounds more like Lawful Neutral, though tbf that is the _other_ super common irl alignment (imo) so that still fits with your point. And yeah, both alignments are not exactly driving forces of a story, but they do make a lot of sense for the most common backgrounds, and alignments can (and arguably should) change from the events of the campaign. Honestly, my favorite characters are those who start as Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good at level 1, but end the campaign as something else.
It's the lack of commitment. They don't want to restrict themselves to LG, even if it would fit better, and they aren't interesting enough for CG. They have no idea what LN, TN, or CN even look like. They hear all the stories about NE and CE and would rather avoid them, understandably. Only the realest of Chads can pull off an LE, so I can't blame them.
There's a time and place for everything and it's called bard college
What happens in bard college stays in bard college.
I had a really hard time justifying any of the subclasses for the bard as "bad," which just goes to show how strong the class as a whole is.
What is your manifestation of ADHD when playing D&D?
Words are hard
First, thanks for the heads-up on Booming Blade. I always thought that was a terrible cantrip to waste one of the few precious slots on. But that was due to a rules misunderstanding. I thought if the price of the material component was listed, the material was consumed by the spell. I have since learned that if the price is listed, the material component cannot be substituted, and in the case of Booming Blade, the spell does NOT consume the item. (I kept thinking, “Who the hell has that many swords?”) However, I still don’t like Friends. Chandler was too whiney, and Moni- wait, no - I’m sorry ... the whole thing with the open hostility is just too much. If regular persuasion doesn’t work, I prefer food bribes. The whale won’t take us to the Sea of Moving Ice unless we feed it some octopus? Wait, we have some other food (from a dead owlbear) that we swear to the gods tastes just like octopus! So, in payment for the Resurrection spell we have to ship all this cheese to the elven village, and this king who controls a bridge we must use will only let us pass if we provide him with some tasty cheese flavor for his soup? No need to use this tasteless crap we’re hauling, let us flavor your soup with some good cheese from our private stock! The minotaurs don’t respect us because we don’t have the stomachs for real food? Why yes, as a matter of fact, as you can taste for yourself, our iron rations DO taste like raw meat dripping with blood. PRESTIDIGITATION - never leave home without it!
I am also susceptible to food bribes.
Regardless of your personal struggles there's a party out there for everyone.
We would love to hear any stories you might have in overcoming such conditions to have fun in role playing games. Or any activities, really.
Slay the dragon or lay the dragon
Why do I always imagine Lawful Good as the most extreme. Lawful Good. More like Lawful Psychopath.
Still gets the job done
B.A.D. Axe Idiot - Barbarian. Artificer. Druid. 15 Battlerager Barbarian 3 Armorer Artificer 2 Moon Druid = Spiked (Bone) Exoskeleton Armored Beasts +5 Speed from Infiltration +10 Speed from Fast Movement +10 Speed from Mobile +5 Speed from Squat Nimbleness =30 Speed Or if you were able to play as a Wood Elf, the minimum speed would become 35 on Wildshape and normal form, for a total of 60 ft in any form (no Squat Nimbleness.) Then, while raging, BA:Dash. Tavern Brawler could utilize all that Speed with a BA: Grapple. You could make an Attack with your Armor with Lightning or Spikes. Medium armor master can remove the Disadvantage to Stealth and Infiltrator Armor provides an Advantage. Skill Expert and you could easily become a Stealth Master with Wood Elves' Mask of the Wild.
I think you just made the Tazmanian Devil.
@@RingXross It's a cute build. Originally, it was ten less levels in Battlerager and ten more in Druid for Armored Elementals.
Totem of the bear seems like a good choice for the lady barbarian, give the current social trend
I'm not going to lie, the Barbarian is probably one of my least favorite classes in D&D. I find it a bit boring. Probably why I like the Totem Warrior so much, it has other things to do than just smash things.
Vernick, the NPC we all needed. 💚
All good ideas The party seems to like the NPCs that I make up on the fly lol 😆
Vernick is gonna start a union
An NPC union. We're all doomed.🤣
