- One of the joys of D&D is finding that hoard of gorgeous treasure filled with gems and piles and piles of gold.
But in 5th edition, there just isn't that much to spend it on. Magic items are generally considered to rare to just find in most shops which is what we would usually spend it on.
So what gear that is available to the average adventurer is worth spending some coin to acquire.
Here are 5 pieces to kit your character out with in D&D 5e, and we use the term equipment very loosely.
Chapters:

01:12 - Mastiff
04:07 - Manacles

It felt like heresy leaving rope and grappling hooks off the list, but that seemed a bit obvious.
Mastiff, google "5e war dog" for a more efficient dog. Also, consider a war dog side kick warrior class. May make them last longer. Realistically they should be al least as good as wolves. Also consider scent/tracking hound. Good for hunting or locating bad guys and you can train them to seek out invisible enemies. Smell something? Hear something? See nothing. "Get him boy!"
Pride's Silk: the epitome of style AND substance
Chalk.
I have looked at the Yklwa a hundred times and never realized it had a d8 damage die, nice find!
