Is VulkanMod really better than Sodium?
Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
This video feels bias af given that of runs waaay better than sodium on my laptop (I know, aparently I am the only one affected somehow) and that in general other videos claim sodium being better than vulcan.
Kinda clickbait, you said the game performance wasn't too bad in the title but the point you make in the video is that the game is just less worse than before.
Starlight isn't needed for versions above 1.20 because Minecraft reworked the lighting engine. For that reason they archived it.
there's actually a backport of sodium for 1.12.2
If vulkan gets shaders support I’ll be so happy. I use vulkan mod for better fps and less stutters that I actually notice on my 240hz monitor
2:00 they don't do big performence update, in each version (even 1.13) has optimization that have been done, even in between big version like how 1.20.4 make lazydfu obsolete also since 1.13, when they decided to remake their engine, mc has become more and more threaded even tho the render didn't change that much. 1.12.2's render is almost the same as 1.20.1's
Roblox Players:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!!!!!!
Squiddo arready did this before you You don’t need to find something that has arready has been found
4:15 This is a dumb statement, you shouldn't need mods to be able to play a game at 60 fps, one thing i'm really jealous of bedrock players is that they can play at huge render distances without mods, also do you know how annoying it is to have to change your mods to a different version every time you want to play a different version of minecraft, it would be so nice if I could just use the launcher, click on 1.20, or 1.16 or 1.21 and boot up minecraft, instead I need to re-download like 7 optimazations mods, thank god for moderinth app though which makes it so I can just instantly get the mods put into the game. I just don't get why mojang just doesn't work with modders to implement these mods into the game, like these guys are willing to work for free, they would probably love to help mojang, like I don't get why something like sodium isn't official in minecraft, it improves fps so drastically, is it so difficult for mojang to just reach out to mod devs, and ask them for help on adding their optimazations???
"I just don't get why mojang just doesn't work with modders" they actualy do, at least for some mods. Lazydfu is a good example of that, its no longer required beacuse mojang implemented what they were doing, same thing with starlight "like sodium isn't official in minecraft" older gpu compatiblity is lost with sodium (version of opengl need to be heigher) and its for that. Also mods devs need to be paid for what they did, otherwise we will just get more situation like soduim's creator (last time i checked they were homeless and basically have 0 money even tho they made soduim) "is it so difficult for mojang to just reach out to mod devs" lmao no, they often talk after update on tech discord server or under video. The issue is licensing, giving money to all devs and giving credits.
@@cylian91 Oh, I always was under the assumption that mojang rarely ever worked with mod devs, or reached out to them about technicall stuff, I just assumed since there where so many performance mods that mojang never reached out to mod devs, I guess it's no so simple to implement performance mods since mods change the game, and there are probably things mojang can't really change, though honestly I think mojang should just rework how minecraft is coded as since minecraft is just gonna keep getting more complicated, it's performance will probably keep getting worse. I don't know much about coding, but I know the software notch used to make minecraft was probably old, and is outdated now + he probably had really janky code that's impossible to change without re writing all of minecraft (Like sodium did with the rendering engine) so it's probably really hard for the mojang devs to find ways to make performance better without having 300 glitches pop up and without changing any vanilla mechanics.
underrated channel, good video
i play vanilla minecraft. ask me any questions
bro has such a kind voice
For me, FPS are not a problem with optimising mods (170-250 fps) but I rarely play versions 1.16.5 and after because the chunk generation performance sucks on my pc (with a Intel Xeon e3 1220v3 (4 cores, 4 threads at 3.5 ghz)) and my game is always stuttering when I play with a render distance who is more than 5/6 (and playing with that sucks). And anyone who will says "Play with nvidium", I find that this mod is useless because the only computers that need more FPS are those who don't have an Nvidia 2000 series GPU. Sorry for my bad english
what gpu do you have ?
@@cylian91 nvidia quadro k420
yeah, theyre always chippin away at performance stuff! new content and performance improvements arent mutually exclusive!
This video should only be 10 sec long
What about forceGL? It forces minecraft to use the latest version of openGL, 4.6. How does that compare (with sodium, since it's compatible) with vulkanmod?
Has this ever been a problem? I average around 800-1000 fps when playing casual minecraft without mods. Even my old laptop gets in the hundreds of fps.
you might be using optifine
what drug did you give your laptop bro, my potato runs minecraft like a power point slideshow
@@rosyidsyahruromadhonalimin8008 his "laptop probably has a 4090 with 128 gigs of ram with a ryzen 9"
@@rosyidsyahruromadhonalimin8008Being a laptop doesn't automatically mean bad. My laptop can run minecraft with 100+ mods together with complementary reimagined shaders at a smooth and stable 60 FPS. GTX 1650, 8 gigabytes of ram (only 4 usable as 4 is taken by the system), i5 intel core cpu, 4 cores 8 threads This is all it takes.
@@rosyidsyahruromadhonalimin8008 mine struggles to stay at 51 fps with fast graphics, wtf did they put on their laptop
I have forgotten ur existence
for me, modern versions actually perform better than older versions (with and without optimization mods) also mojang themselves add performance improvements regularly
and most perfomance update that aren't big aren't even in the changelog, there optimize it every update.
Sometimes in the snapshots vanilla performance is better (higher fps) but still has more statering And the biggest problem with Minecraft performance is high render distance which destroy the FPS of the game On 2 chunks every PC probably can play this game at high frame rate
I love watching videos that answers questions I never ask
They should still optimize though, just because mods exist doesn't mean they can just ignore it. The most exciting things to see in changelogs for any game (atleast for me) is performance improvements, i'd love to see more if it in minecraft
they don't appear in the changelog as its too technical for it, but i can assure you they optimize it (except rendering, it didn't change that much)
Hmmmm you know, there is another thing some players use to improve gameplay without using mods at all for vanilla Minecraft, which involves changing our Java runtime environments. In fact, there's actually a few with a highlight one being one of Oracle's most performant environments: GraalVM. Maybe that could also be a topic for later vids to understand how switching Java Edition's runtime to another benefits the performance of vanilla gameplay.
Really nice video!
79 views? WHAT? Where is your audience?
The ONLY game unplayable without mods? Have you PLAYED a Fallout game?
fallout new vegas is always unplayable i bought the game expecting good walking mechanics; now im stuck in a situation for when i want to play the game I: install open close install an enb and neveda skies enb works but neveda skies doesnt seem to exist cross the road game crashes uninstalling

When I played Fallout 4 for the very first time, I honestly didn't really notice anything wrong with it. Then when I dived into mods to see what fun thing I could add to my game, it was a massive eye opener how ridiculously flawed and badly made Fo4 is. I just started noticing, constantly noticing, so many things that I hated about the game. Every single little crack of bad design just started throwing itself at me to notice and I hated it. I never really was playing a good game, I was playing a shattered pot of a game that had been broken and glued back together like 6 times. You don't really realize how badly designed a game is until you discover how much of it you can fix or improve upon with mods.
first
I get around 60-200 fps on Sodium, but 470-1300 fps on Vulkan. And the game is super, duper, ultra, mega smooth on Vulkan.
Tldr Vulcan>spdium>optifine But sodium has better compat if youre playing with other mids
thats why i revoked all their access rights. i went into Microsoft and revoked there access to my account. also, since the in game currency is against Minecraft's policy that means i'm allowed to edit the mod files on my end to remove the currency.
Sodium is the best one
Кринжатины навалил чел, еще и акцент ужасный)
TL;DR distant horizons still better because nvidia still suck
comparing mods between different modloaders kinda unfair
what about the hybrid, a collaboration of all or almost all optimization mods to create one, giant mod that optimizes the most that can be optimized also a setting to switch between DH LOD, Voxy LOD and a hybrid.
On my laptop vulkan is better
dude music from terraria is just an ear candy
I believe it is possible to pre-generate the chunks using Voxy by also installing either Bobby or Chunky. I wrote this comment before testing, so don't trust me.
W idea! ❤
The reason Fabric got popular is because at the time when Fabric came out. Forge only really had OptiFine as grand jewel. (if we speak performance or graphic related mods, tech stuff Forge still the goat) Fabric was the first to get Sodium etc. The Forge variants came quite much later. Addtionally. Especially for anyone that played older modpacks on Forge will be familiar with how long Forge needs to boot up in larger modpacks. Fabric atleast in my experience always loaded faster no matter how huge the modpack got. Also performance-wise Fabric in my testing on the longer period outperformed Forge. This might be setup dependent, in my case Fabric Performance convinced me after having used Forge ever since it moved away as the addon to Risugami Modloader. They key difference nowdays really are specific mods between the two. Besides all the drama and internal conflicts of Forge and ESPECIALLY OptiFine. Both Modloaders nowadays do well. Forge improved quite a bit ever since Fabric released had got their own variants of performance mods.
Use Vulkan if u play vanilla Use sodium if you play with mods Throw optifine in the trash
If Minecraft had 3d chunks and it culled the hidden vertical chunks, there would be a massive performance difference
I love the part when he deletes the files
I feel like suing UA-cam. your videos are so good that it's almost a crime people aren't seeing your amazing content!! Even though you're not too popular, you're actually my inspiration just because of how motivated and passionate you are!
what is that thing? 0:34
4:55 btw! the Limit in Axioms Sliders ist not Limited... you can Ctrl + Click any slider and input any number so instead of just 50 you could input 500...
For the world not rendering when chunks aren't loaded you can use chunky to preload chunks.
you forgot to use fp2 and height map
Nice video
