    Minnecraft modding is like a soap opera. It's gone on for years and there's always new drama.

    Quilt is like evil neoForge.
    It was made out of spite for the Fabric discord mods.
    Quilt adds so little to the fabric toolchain that the FeltMC mod allows quilt mods to be run on fabric.

    I don't think that 4 mod loaders is a lot. Especially when Quilt supports Fabric mods. Anyways, great video!

      Quilt supports Fabric mods for now. Since it is a hard fork, full ongoing support isn't planned.

      @@randoguy7488 Like that's ever gonna happen lol. There are barely any Quilt mods, and even less actually good ones, and even with Fabric mod support not many people use it. Removing support for Fabric mods would basically mean the end of the entire project since nobody would play it except maybe a few diehard Quilt fanboys.

    I personally think NeoForge is the future and it will finally unite the modding community. The performance of all mod loaders today is pretty much the same, and NeoForge has all Forge advantages without its disadvanges, also sinytra connector is being ported to NeoForge too.

      @@Cygnus_MC What would be the real difference? If I as a developer can choose any of the 2 tools to develop my mod, and users can play with my mod along with any other mod they like without having to sacrifice anything, I don't know man, for me that's unifying.
      Forge for new versions is basically D3AD, the vast majority of its big mods have been ported to NeoForge or they are in process, and Quilt is used by 4 people in some abandoned oil rig in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The only real mod loaders right now are Fabric and NeoForge, and if I can play with all my mods in the same mod loader thanks to Sinytra connector, what's the difference??

    Modding has been so annoying recently. I pretty much only make my mods for fabric, because it's what I use personally, it runs better, and I know the api and available tools that I have with it. Forge is slow, takes significantly longer for a project to build, and generally has a worse selection of mods for client side, modern, quality of life features. The only thing that I believe forge has that is better, is that I don't think it needs/uses anything to do with mixins. NeoForge I have not tested at all really. But as far as I'm aware, it's just forge, with some small changes and different moderation. I think it could become a lot better in the future, but it's just too early to catch my interest. Quilt, I believe, just got it's first update in a fricking year a little while ago. That's all I'm gonna say. Quilt seems decent, but it's still in beta and most people still use fabric anyway.
    What also gets on my nerves is that people are so whiny about backports. On a couple of my own mods and a LOT of others by other people, you constantly see people asking for a port to an older version. This pisses me off so much. I can get that with large mods, it may be difficult to update some stuff, and so, people that wanna use the mod will just play that version instead. But it's not a good reason to be complaining to other mod devs to make their shit for older versions. If I wanted to make it for 1.20.1, I would have just started with that. Personally, I pretty much only play the newest versions, although, I usually stick with the previous one for a little while after an update because I want to wait for most of my mods to update, but I mainly play the newest version. And so, when I finally switch to the newest version, I update my mods with that. And for most smaller mods, it only really takes 1-3 coding sessions to figure everything out. But anyway, I just really hate seeing people asking for backports. Just get with the times. Unless you're relying on a certain mod that hasn't updated and you can't do without, why the hell is anyone still playing older versions?
    Hi to anyone that read this giant wall of text 👋

      Because some newer versions of Minecraft introduce features that many people dislike or certain other mods they use only exist on specific versions, It is just THAT SIMPLE. "Just get with the times" is such a scummy perspective to have. Especially in a modding community, where we try to turn the game into what we want it to be.

    • @lordender_kitty_official
      @lordender_kitty_official 6 місяців тому +1

      @@spike-the-red-king just different sides of the community i guess. personally, one bad feature, or one good mod isn't enough to force me onto an old version. unless it's something like a modpack like RLCraft on 1.12.2, there's not really any benefit for me most of the time to stay on old versions. especially as a mostly server player.

    • @VoltSh0ck
      @VoltSh0ck 5 місяців тому +2

      Its mostly because certain mods don't get updated to newest versions. For example for 1.20.1 a lot of mods are still not updated/incompatible with 1.21, not to mention some developers have dropped Fabric support for 1.21 because they believe NeoForge is the future (Just dividing the modding the community even further) so 1.20.1 is one of the last versions these mods will support not to mention the changes and updates 1.21 are minor and not worth losing all those mods. I personally don't understand why developers would just drop Fabric like that when it's grown immensely popular and NeoForge is barely getting of the ground, it's way too early to be dropping support like that.

    • @spike-the-red-king
      @spike-the-red-king 5 місяців тому +4

      @VoltSh0ck facts bro. I didn't hear about mod makers dropping fabric. I've found fabric to run a million times better than neo and regular forge
