because minecraft is made in java, optimisation is harder, those indie developers would've used c++ or something, which is better for video games and is what bedrock uses, of course they still can optimise it, it's just easier to do so when using other programming languages
You are wrong about adding mobs. It is NOT easy to add them. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into any one mob. Yes, modders are faster, but they make these mobs for one version. Mojang has to do it for both and further optimize them for everyone; not just a specific group of players. It irritates me when people are so ignorant about how difficult game development really is…
Mojang has detailed their process before and most people don't realize what goes into making anything new fit their design philosophy of the game, let alone work well in two different codebases. And that's before issues arise from the massive playerbase running into problems with whatever obscure scenarios they may encounter and having to fix the bugs in a non-brekaing way.
I feel like just to make the community happy they should just add the mob losers from the second mob vote up to the last mob vote and they should add the biome losers as well
They mentioned that in the mob votes that the losers would never be added, there is no point in wanting them to add the past mobs because it won't happen. The biome vote, tho they did say they would all be eventually updated.
why does nobody talk about the sound design of the pale biome??? there are some blocks that are making noises in that biome, the biome doesnt have much ambient noises most of them come from blocks. Also i remember playing the snapshot and hearing a creaking far away but when i turned around it was literally about to hit me, idk about you but thats kinda scary
it is a lot, i don't like what the community is doing. i get that this is frustrating but think about waht the developers are going through, we shouldnt assume that they have so much time on their hands. so they arent greedy they just have a lot on their hands, what i do not know but i really love what they have done. minecraft is my childhood and i appreciate them for that, so stop attacking, be patient always have not too high or low hope. it is good for us as we wont be stressed and good for them so they wont be pressured.
Do you honestly think that the community isn't patient. 8 freaking years waiting for an End Update. Is that not long enough for you? We understand that they have a lot of rules and regulations to follow but 8 years and counting is an insult to the community. I love minecraft and I am greatful to Mojang for what they did but we are not idiots . There are people in the community who do amazing things in an amazingly short time. Yes they're busy but not 8 years busy. It is minmal effort all the way to drag out the cash cow.

When someone makes a mod like "Here's what the next update could look like", they do NOT want it to be used as a way to bash Mojang! It likely took 0% of the effort that making concept art, coming up with a vision for the feature, and making sure the feature works exactly how we want it to that Mojang has to go through, because they're just copycats. They just take the feature that Mojang already announced, and make a quick, half-baked version of it to see what it's like.

1.15 released the same year as village & pillage, not sure where that "the community accepted it" comes from, the main goal of 1.15 was to fix how buggy and bad was the performance in 1.14, it´s insane to me being mad about a literal plus after 1.14 the same year.
I voted for the glowsquid because the idea as it was represented was to give the game more ambience. Which it did. Just not in the way we hoped it did. The Iceologer, ill be honest, is just another hostile mob that doesnt ultimately add a lot to the game. Its just another biome specific mob to fight. The Creaking in turn is much different. You cant even fight the dang thing. You have to go out of your way to find its heart and then destroy it by more often than not, looking away from the damn thing, opening yourself up to a potential death situation. The Iceologer is just a bootleg skeleton or witch. Change my mind xD
To be fair, if you update is just a grey scaled forest and moss with 1 new mob, then there is something wrong. Last update appeared bigger, but I noticed the recent updates just feel blank. Like you forget they are a thing.

They have months and snapshots to improve the whole pale garden, but right now ut's just another "pick sapling return home" biome.

You got 1.16 wrong. It was never delayed but 1.15 was a update that fixed the problemes and lag that came with 1.13 that actually would have been split into to: - 1.13 The Flatting Update (balancing the game, changing many games at the base level and overhauling the textures which lead to the game because more unstable which is why most mods are still on 1.12) - 1.14: Aquatic Update These two updates were combined so 1.15 was basically cleaning up the mess and in the same time frame we got two updates instead of one per year.
They should really go back and add all the stuff in the back burner/cancled updates like all the past mob vote losers, the mobs who are in the game but are locked behind creative and commands. Mobs they refuse to do like sharks and fire flies and finally add the aither or skulk dimension. They could even call it the lost and found update.

You made a mistake Mojang never delayed the Nether update, updates always released in June every year since 1.13. 1.15 released only a few months after 1.14 since it was only a small update and the nether update still released a year after 1.14 just like normal. So 1.15 was really just an extra update that didnt even need to be made but they still did it anyway.

Biggst problem with Mojang atm is simply, they present something, moders have those things added in less than a week and mojang under microsoft can't manage the same thing in a year... The mob votes were the best example for that. first of all, modding is way easier than developing an update. Most of the mojang's team were modders (even the eather mod creator works at mojang) but are updates like mods? No because modding is easier. This year's live was pretty good, yea not much stuff revealed but it was entertaining for sure (especially the villager news part). btw they also looked very sad there for some reason, i think the community was a bit too harsh to them (mostly for no good reason).

@@fldom4610 That is no explaination at all... the process of both is basicly the same. If you program you usually write in several moduls to split up a proccess and make debuging easier. So adding a mod to a game is basicly the same as writing a modul for the base game. In both cases you need the skins, models, program the behaviour for all of them and all around those things. I mean just comparing what effort goes into the April Update each year shows what is possible but still we get a MC live like the other day...

Why does everyone keep going on about an end update? Didn’t we get an end update? I haven’t even got to the end in years lol I just build in the over world. But aren’t there like plants and ships and new chest things now in the end?
the end update we got was extremely bland. the nether has 4 biomes, 2 different, big structures, with variations, and has so many important items I couldn’t list them all here. the end has one biome, one structure, and the only resources in the end that you can’t get anywhere else are the dragon egg, all purpur blocks, end rods, all endstone blocks, and the elytra and dragon head. There’s no reason to go back to the end once you have an elytra now unless you really don’t want to grind villagers for enchanted armor and tools. at least the nether is useful for gold farms, traveling long distances and netherite.
what the community wants: revamp the end and boss fight, add new building blocks and add old mob vote candidates what mojang is currently doin: add a new biome or structure, a few new mobs you will mostly find in the structure/biome and a mildly anticipated feature every update like seriously, 1.17 really cursed minecraft development. after the goated 1.16 update too, such a shame
i would argue that development has gone way better after 1.21, i mean we got from almost no updates to an entire new dungeon (and also changed how the game is played, just look at the mace or the new way to start a raid)

This is a live service game that makes money from the marketplace/realms therefore they benefit by providing free updates. I never see people saying this about fortnite or other live service games

But the new mob does feel out of place it has no structures in its biome so the only people that will be going there are builders. Right now, I don't see much saving going on. What Mojang need is to stop wandering around an creating random additions to the game following the direction of the wind in the community or Agnes crying in the office. Mojang need to create and bring back A VISION FOR THE GAME. Make a long term plan where they want to bring to the game and why then expose to fans their update road. After that, they follow a SENSIBLE path to improve and continue to make the game bloom. No more wandering around dropping things. I know, won't happen. I was very big in minecraft updates until 1.14. I stopped caring. I seen it get into a downfall spiral for me at least. The last version I Played was 1.16. The next update seems to be an horror update. I Don't think this will be good, the game has "an horror" aspect on it, but it's not an horror game. It is a "liminal space horror" not true horror... The Nether update was eh... Kinda so so for me. The caves and cliffs were in MCSM altough not really (below the bedrock). I don't know if Minecraft really needs more updates. They should really go back and add all the stuff in the back burner/cancled updates like all the past mob vote losers, the mobs who are in the game but are locked behind creative and commands. Mobs they refuse to do like sharks and fire flies and finally add the aither or skulk dimension. They could even call it the lost and found update.

You made a mistake
Mojang never delayed the Nether update, updates always released in June every year since 1.13. 1.15 released only a few months after 1.14 since it was only a small update and the nether update still released a year after 1.14 just like normal.
So 1.15 was really just an extra update that didnt even need to be made but they still did it anyway.

Biggst problem with Mojang atm is simply, they present something, moders have those things added in less than a week and mojang under microsoft can't manage the same thing in a year...
The mob votes were the best example for that. And you hit the nail on the MC Live for this and last year... just a disgrace... last year was bad, this year was worse and them talking like 10 minutes of already showing nothing just to talked about the so called "movie" ... nope, they are not really listening to their base the way things are. Or on the things they do, they don't think about how to improve those, but just stop doing them all together.
first of all, modding is way easier than developing an update. Most of the mojang's team were modders (even the eather mod creator works at mojang) but are updates like mods? No because modding is easier. This year's live was pretty good, yea not much stuff revealed but it was entertaining for sure (especially the villager news part). btw they also looked very sad there for some reason, i think the community was a bit too harsh to them (mostly for no good reason).

@@fldom4610 That is no explaination at all... the process of both is basicly the same. If you program you usually write in several moduls to split up a proccess and make debuging easier.
So adding a mod to a game is basicly the same as writing a modul for the base game.
In both cases you need the skins, models, program the behaviour for all of them and all around those things.
I mean just comparing what effort goes into the April Update each year shows what is possible but still we get a MC live like the other day...

Also the modder of eather that now works at mojang explained how modding is way easier than developing an update. The "moders do it faster" argument has been wrong for so long time. Also the April fools update is full of bugs and retextured, it's a joke update. And you are thinking wrong, yes they both have to add behaviour and models but it's not the same process as mojang's

Why does everyone keep going on about an end update? Didn’t we get an end update? I haven’t even got to the end in years lol I just build in the over world. But aren’t there like plants and ships and new chest things now in the end?
the end update we got was extremely bland. the nether has 4 biomes, 2 different, big structures, with variations, and has so many important items I couldn’t list them all here.
the end has one biome, one structure, and the only resources in the end that you can’t get anywhere else are the dragon egg, all purpur blocks, end rods, all endstone blocks, and the elytra and dragon head. There’s no reason to go back to the end once you have an elytra now unless you really don’t want to grind villagers for enchanted armor and tools. at least the nether is useful for gold farms, traveling long distances and netherite.

what mojang is currently doin: add a new biome or structure, a few new mobs you will mostly find in the structure/biome and a mildly anticipated feature every update

i would argue that development has gone way better after 1.21, i mean we got from almost no updates to an entire new dungeon (and also changed how the game is played, just look at the mace or the new way to start a raid)

Why is it only the minecraft community that doesn't understand that the updates aren't out of the kindness of their hearts. This is a live service game that makes money from the marketplace/realms therefore they benefit by providing free updates. I never see people saying this about fortnite or other live service games

I see this on other games like Overwatch for example, a f2p game where you can expend 0$ and every time a new content is released the peopke demand more and more. Fore the pale garden isn't a bad idea, but it needs something more to make you want to go there and confront the creeking. The only thing I don't want from the pale garden is it being a forgetable content, it just need a purpose apart of the new wood, nothing more.

@@yomismo2689 mojang did say the updates would be smaller but I feel this is ridiculously small, if you really think about we’re getting retextured dark oak wood and some retextured moss which is cool for builders and all. But the new mob does feel out of place it has no structures in its biome so the only people that will be going there are builders. And people who wanna see the new stuff for the first outside of builders no one else will revisit.

I know, won't happen. Then the game will continue to slow down, until it dies or devellopment is cancelled and it might also take enough time for mostly everybody this think its normal. But no, there's a way to make game thrive more and for a long while. They just lack vision for it.

feel like nothing? even though caves and cliffs were split into 2 updates, they still massively overhauled the game. the trial chambers was less significant, but added a new weapon to the game.
i feel like mojang (microsoft) is just taking the easy way out. delivering less content and disguising it as a good thing. "multiple game drops in a year" dont matter if the size of said game drops are tiny. the new creaking stuff is genuinely so lazy. same tree generation, lazy mob ai, 0 effort and thought put into it. lackluster compared to the previous horror mob.

And why does the creaking have a completely different gameplay mechanic where you can only kill it by breaking the creaking heart? The only thing you could have a point about is how the pale gardens are very similar to dark oak forrests but genualy what's the problem with existing biomes having variants? They did the same with warped forrests and literaly no one complained about them being similar/variants to crimson forrests so why is it now a problem that they are adding a dark oak forrest variant?

I was very big in minecraft updates until 1.14. I stopped caring. I seen it get into a downfall spiral for me at least. The last version I Played was 1.16. The next update seems to be an horror update. I Don't think this will be good, the game has "an horror" aspect on it, but it's not an horror game. It is a "liminal space horror" not true horror... The Nether update was eh... Kinda so so for me. The caves and cliffs were in MCSM altough not really (below the bedrock). I don't know if Minecraft really needs more updates. The more they put, the more heavy it gets, the less older computers can run it. I'm just sayin' it has to end soon. The more they put, the less Minecraft is Minecraft
