The ultra 300 does have cooling issues due to the shallow water jacket design on the cylinders. When running full throttle under heavy load or on hot days, the machine usually does not get adequate cooling. Gentleman keep your fingers crossed because we may finally have the long awaited first Fuel Pump assembly installation video for the STX ever in Part 3.
Also if Kawasaki watches this video they need to realize the STX brings something to the table just like the Ultra does. Kawasaki, stop treating the STX like it doesn’t exist. I’m not asking for the same features as the Ultra. I mostly want trim but I’ll be fine with anything as long as you give the STX more attention
I honestly just want longevity or better fuel pump components to eliminate the every 25 hour maintence for it altogether. If they did that and made it so it was every 100 hours I would be happy with just that.
Our new fuel pump will not need any service just like the older models. It should be available shortly

@@stuartpeck8169 in all fairness that have been cultivating the STX marque for nearly 40 years...but hate to tell you they sold out and make them all in Mexico now to keep up with BRP. Personally I would never buy a Mexican made boat or vehicle...not racist, just won't settle for subpar quality.

Probably will do what KSPEED did and use the exhaust assembly of the 300 since it’s on the same side as 160
It is coming very soon! The outlet is on the right, so we will just use our stainless exhaust, but anything 08-11 250/260/300 will work
Does polarity matter when hooking up the wires to the stock connector?
It should not mater unless the speaker manufacturer specifies

Make sure you have the two ride plate screws out. Otherwise try a 2x4 wedged in there to break it free
Any chance you could do a video for how to remove the fuel pump assembly from the STX 160? There is currently no videos for how to do it and your channel would the first ever to do it if you made one

Does this help the infamous gas in oil issue these skis had? Also, does it improve the mileage over the supercharger?
Yes, it eliminates that issue completely. And yes MPG increases substantially
Is the ecu reflash imperative? If I wanted to change back to the supercharger, how hard is it to reflash the ecu back?
Also, the 250x had 7.8:1 compression compared to the LX 10.6:1. Does this make much difference in performance/reliability?

This fits the right side outlet, left side is still in production. It will probably be out in fall

Im not going for more speed, Im looking to increase my fuel economy. Do you have any pro tips or upgrades to n increasing your ride range.
That's a tough one, obviously stay off the throttle as much as possible and keep RPM lower. A higher pitch prop say 15/22 will help keep RPM lower at a slightly higher speed, which may help. It will decrease top speed however. Not sure how much extra range until tested

Why can just cut the the two weldings for remove the filter and keep the oem plate ?
You can do that, the aluminum plate is just a better heat transfer medium to dissipate the heat better

I got everything back together and it started fine but having a problem it has high idle than i blip the throttle and it hangs rpm high and wont go down.
Check your idle adjustment, or may have a bad idle motor
I replaced the iac and still revs up high and i have to kill it.@@kawiperformance

If it is stuck, you will need to take it off the cable, and replace it once you get it off

Remove the fenders, remove all console nuts, and swing the console to the left for best access

Hey this is a great fix and good vid. One i will be attempting. I have a question for you though slightly off topic. My jetski seems to bog down at approx 4000rpm and drops to 3000 then returns to normal. It feels like fuel starvation and was wondering if there may be an issue with a valve or breather somewhere. Is this something you may know about? Thank you
Most likely fuel pump and bag, we make a high flow pump and bag for that model that will resolve many problems

Thanks for the video makes considering a DIY rebuild less daunting. I have a 2012 300 LX. At the end of last year it started to drop out about 55mph. Seems fine at low speeds, hit 55 or open up the throttle it just drops like you let off the throttle. So you do and ski is still running and you can work it back to about 55. Does this 100% of the time. As far as I can tell it came after filling up with fuel. Though I'm not sure as it happened while friend were riding and they never told me about the issue. I was thinking to rebuild the Supercharger but was wondering your expert opinion?
Could be fuel pump issue, replace the pump since it is cheap, and see if that resolves the issue. Of course new plugs first before anything
What do you recommend for removing a jet pump that i think is seized to the shaft?
You need to support the drive shaft inside the hull with some wood to prevent damage. Use some tie downs and tie it to an immobile object. Roll the trailer back and forth slowly to try and pull it off. Do not put a lot of pressure. if it does not work, drive shaft needs cutting and replacement

I assume this works on the 2023+ Ultra 160 as well since it’s the same software. As always. I really wish Kawasaki would realize both the Ultra AND the STX have their charm and will start showing the STX the same love they show the Ultra. Cause me being an STX lover is starting to feel like a masochist. I love it but the manufacturer treats it like it doesn’t exist
It is the same procedure for all Kawasaki's with an immobilizer. The STX is a lower end machine, we do not think they will make many changes over the years. However, that is good for as as we make improvements.
Own an ultra 310 but I’ll watch anyways
