Why not install the 15F Fuel Pump to am newer STX160 ? When it doesnt fit in the Platic basket then i am wondering why not to use the 15F Fuel Pump Assy. in the STX 160 gas tank
Common problems when when your Kawasaki is 1-2 years old - Fuel pump malfunctions, ski only goes up to around 30 mph after 1-2 years, (2 short summers of use) - Hood falling off due to re-call from 2020 models and up - Impeller getting stuck around a "sleeve". Jetski wont work or start, requires new $1000 pump or mechanical experience to remove the sleeve with possible damage to the impeller housing
@@Wavelover33 actually its not .just remove the side covers that run from the ignition to the hood (4 bolts on each side). that will uncover the 4 nuts that hold on the black cowling (the big thing that surrounds the steering. Then remove the ignition dervice (two screws that hold in the thing that you put your "key" in). then you can turn it enough to be able to reach the fuel pump mechanism. remove the electrical connection and the fuel line. then undo the screws that hold the pump on the fuel tank and pull it out.
Do you have any pictures or video of the job? Or some insights on how to do it. I'm about to try changing the pump on mine. Would greatly appreciate if you do. @@Hockeymomcanada2007

yes i need that too. seems like a fairly big job removing the steering etc
