I think it was all well written and acted, just too much screen time dedicated to exposition about the warder bond, in a series where every minute is precious

@@ElliotEdits Well, you're far more generous than me but each to their own :-) None of it was necessary, even within the context of their own show - they contrived an event to show the warder bond effect.. then turned it into a soap opera. If you had to have steppin, at least make him go berserk properly and be true to how the bond is supposed to work lol. He should have died with those stupid axes in hand and a snarl on his face.

I feel particularly bad for Perrin's character, because he's got such amazing storylines coming up in season 3

I think he's a bit too quick to accept one version of events and ignore others

@@ElliotEdits He thought he lost his mother. It's perfectly reasonable to believe, a mentally unstable man who led a foreign army in your home killed your mother, the reigning monarch. And disbelieving Elayne is also excusable, when she is head over heels the same mentally unstable man, who can brainwash people.

BUT I will say she should watch episodes 2&3 as we did when it was released to get the full effect!

I think the influence of Celtic mythology and its influence on Tolkien's writing is pretty evident. We're all inspired to some level by what we read and find interesting

@@ElliotEdits The celts almost never were interested in writing.After all, the ancient druids banned it...And the people from the British Isles were not reffered as the ''celts'' by the ancient historians.I really doubt that for an ethnicity-centric Englishman, non-english cultures were important (on the Island of Great Britain). It seems that England was united by the guy named Elfweard(and later finally by Aethelstan) in the 10th century.

Its a really great source for historians, sudents, linguists ect but not necessarily meant for everyday readers. You can go to your local library for books you want to take home.

Can't argue, being able to get a pint at the library would only improve the experience

Interesting point 🤔 Last time I checked you could book multiple days, providing somebody else hasn't requested it. But you would have to pick it up and drop it off each time you left the reading room
