I finished the Netflix Sandman adaptation last night. Been reading the graphic novels off and on since 2020, and IMHO the adaptation is great! can’t wait to see your review and learn what you thought of it.
I got Coraline for Christmas in third grade, started it the same day, and then had to quit reading it when the other mother tried to sow buttons on her eyes. That day a lifetime fear of needles was born. 😂 I did eventually read and enjoy it. My 18th birthday was coming up, and Coraline was the only book I had never finished (we pretend 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea didn’t happen), and it just felt like something I needed to do before I could rightfully call myself an adult.
Now this is relatable content! I'm not sure how old the third grade translates to, but it is surprisingly dark for a children's book. Have you seen the movie adaptation?
@@kayleighpaxton9713 the bit with the letters on the mirror got to me. I was listening to the audiobook and had to write them down on paper... Was a real revelation moment 😳
I haven’t watched the two titles you reviewed in this video. I’m interested in your opinions on Good Omens and American Gods. It does sound like you have a bit to say about Caroline as well. I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book. I would like to see adaptation of that story.
The Graveyard Book is actually one I haven't read yet! I have a LOT of thoughts on Good Omens and American Gods. Writing the script for Caroline and How to talk to girls at parties now.
Gaiman is my favorite author, though I’ve only read the first two volumes of The Sandman. I just finished the show, and overall, I’m pretty happy with it. It definitely has some flaws, but there’s so much good I can forgive them. I hope you enjoy it!
@@ElliotEdits Probably a tie between Neverwhere and The Graveyard Book. Graveyard was my introduction to Gaiman so it had a special place in my heart. I also love Stardust but a lot of people don’t and that’s kind of tainted my enjoyment :(
@@storyphile4518 Interesting! I'll definitely have to check out The Graveyard Book. I think American Gods is my favourite so far, but haven't read them all yet.

Thanks! I've now watched 3 episodes... staying true to the comics so far

@@ElliotEdits oh, I had forgotten about that part! Wasn’t it something like “Help”?
@@kayleighpaxton9713 When you write it down it spells 'su pleh' which is 'help us' backwards

@@GentleGiantJason I'll have to check it out!.
The Graveyard Book was my introduction to Gaiman and remains one of my favorites ❤️
Hey It's Nara. I've changed my name as I've got a Flosstube channel! I'm watching the Sandman up to 6 now
