Leaky Hydraulic Drive Motors FIXED
My Vermeer S800TX had two leaky hydraulic drive motors. Hydraulic oil started dripping down the drive sprockets, so I removed the drive motors and took one apart to figure out how to fix them. After weeks of experimenting, I wanted to showcase the process I developed for restoring the motors.

    I was planning to use this Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in my new Ford Escape, but it doesn't have the WSS-M2C962-A specification recommended by Ford. Right now, I am debating between Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 full synthetic that Pennzoil's technical team recommended for me to use and Motorcraft 0W-20 full synthetic that Ford recommends for me to use.

    They are both great, the Pennzoil Platinum is closer to real full synthetic because it's made from natural gas. All full synthetic oil is conventional oil based with additives except for the one made from natural gas, hope that helps, however I would never put down Valvoline because they are great!

    I tried the Pennzoil 5W-30W synthetic made from natural gas when it first came out. The motor was the 2015 3.5L? EcoBoost was using Castrol and changed every 5000 miles. I had the Jiffy Lube put in Pennzoil natural gas oil and at 2500 miles I was 2-1/2 quarts low. My work partner had failed to check the oil level for the 3000 miles he had driven the vehicle. Castrol had never burned more than 1/2 quart in 5000 miles. I was given a butt-ripping chew-out by the company mechanics even though I was not the operator. What happened to all that oil in an engine with less than 65k miles on it?

    I would suggest that possibly the full synthetic oil cleaned out gunk deposits left by the former oil. It seems like you would need to do several oil change cycles before making a decision to go back to the synthetic blend.

    Manufacturer recommends Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0 - 40W full synthetic for my 392 Cubic Inch Hemi with MDS. This oil is specially blended for this engine. The engineers spec'd this blend and I believe any other brand oil may cause increased valve train wear and premature failure.

    I had a 2015 Toyota Camry Se, and it started burning oil pretty frequently. The car was used for Uber in NYC. I was always using Toyota Motor oil, at around 80K miles, I started using Valvoline synthetic oil to see how it would burn. After several oil changes I went back to the oem oil, which I eventually found out that the Toyota oem motor oil is actually Mobil1 synthetic. And I saw that the oem motor oil burned much better than the Valvoline. Then after watching Projectfarm, I saw that Pennzoil was basically an extremely good oil. It only lost out to Amsoil. So I purchased the Pennzoil, and the Pennzoil burned by far better than both Valvoline, and the oem Toyota oil, as well as Mobil 1, which is what Toyota uses. On 2019 Lexus es350 Fsport, at 80K miles, I went to Royal Purple. I'll never use another brand. The car actually performs so much. better, which I was not expecting. But getting back to the original 2, Pennzoil in my experience, is superior of the 2.

      @lonniebeal6032 8 днів тому

      5k is not a serious test, I ran full synthetic Supertech 15k miles with new filter and top off halfway for years. Took the car in for an intercooler upgrade, they insisted on a new head gasket at 114,000 miles, they said the internals were completely clean of sludge and grime. It was and 85' Dodge 600 Turbo, I drove over 20k miles a years. Those days are gone, now I drive less than 5k miles a year, so it's every 6 months with whatever full synthetic I catch on sale.

    When you add a new key fob, will the other ones be removed?

    • @reidthemanual
      @reidthemanual 14 днів тому

      Hi, Hunter. No, your vehicle has a certain number (4, I think) of programming “slots” for fobs. When you add a fob in FORScan, it uses the first vacant slot it can find. It cannot (last I knew) overwrite or erase fobs that have already been programmed. This means that you can only add a fob if there is a vacant slot. If you need/want to remove a fob from memory (vacate a slot), then you will need to take your vehicle to a dealer or qualified locksmith. It normally requires software and security certifications to access those features.

      When you have tall walls, it’s great to mount things high when possible. That way you can use the lower space for things that can’t be go high. At my job, we even have many air hose reels mounted in the ceiling. You just have to move the rubber hose stop up the hose until you have enough hose sticking out to reach from the ground.
