- STIHL issued a recall for some of their iMow robotic mower docking stations due to fire hazard. Here I show how to remove/reinstall the docking station module and reprogram the mower so it can get back to what it does best - mow your grass!
I was given a Stihl RMI 422 P that is a few years older and is pre the current cell phone App models. I really like it on my Bermuda lawn here in Phoenix however it only cuts as low as .80". I added a couple of washers under the carrier plate and that has helped lower the high of cut to around 0.75" however I wish I could lower even more to say half inch. Thanks for the video. Marc
Thanks for the comment, Marc! That’s cool that you have an iMow in Phoenix (been there once). I have my Stihl RMI 632 PC-L and my Husqvarna 115H both set to a cut height of about 2.10.” That length seems to be the sweet spot in my climate - the grass doesn’t look terribly shaggy but has enough length to withstand a heavy rain or a hot, dry spell.
How many hours a week does your 422 have to mow to keep the grass that short? Perhaps grass doesn’t grow very fast in Phoenix?
@@reidthemanual I only have 1,400 sq ft and it mows twice a day for an hour at a time.
That sounds like a great application for a robotic mower: frequent maintenance of a small yard. I push the limits of mine with areas as large as (or larger than) the manufacturer recommends.
@@reidthemanual I’d like something that cuts lower but this works and was free so I’m hesitant. The Husky 115 won’t work with their fairway kit unfortunately.
Qualcuno mi sa aiutare per un errore interno m4019? Grazie
These things look like Chinese junk. God help us all.
Last I saw, Stihl makes their iMow mowers in Switzerland/Germany/Austria. They may look like toys, but they are actually pretty hefty. They are a great option for maintaining yards up to about 1.5 acres.
You sound like that guy from Gremlins
