  • This is an education video showing how to disable hyperflash (the rapid flashing of your turn signal indicator light). This process works on Ford vehicles made after approximately the year 2010.
It is not necessary to drive or even start your vehicle to use this process. Definitely NEVER drive your vehicle while reprogramming it. This video demonstrates the safe process.
This process is simple enough that, as the video shows, with the supervision of an adult, a child can do it.
    Tools required:
    - a laptop PC
    - recommended OBD PC adapter: amzn.to/47SA7bG
    - a copy of FORScan

Great video! It worked on my 2017 explorer!

I'm encouraged by your assistant. Nice video but where'd you get the ODB scanner from?

      I’ll pass along your compliment.
I put a link to the scanner in the video description. You can buy it online. It comes with basic OBD software, but for programming your vehicle you’ll want to download FORScan.

      @@reidthemanual Of course!
I'm also hearing I might need the scanner with the switch. What's the difference?

@@waltertaylor9615 The scanner I use is the only one I recommend. It’s a trusted brand and no switch is required. If you purchase anything else, I cannot guarantee success.
There are some inexpensive scanners out there that cannot communicate with all modules on your vehicle. Don’t buy these. The step up from these is a scanner with a physical toggle switch (flip the switch one way to communicate with some of the modules on your vehicle, flip the switch the other way to communicate with other modules). These *might* allow you to do everything mine does if you buy a “good” one that actually works.
Nothing is more frustrating than buying a tool that doesn’t work, so choose carefully. 🙏🏻

@@reidthemanual Thx so much for your time and I appreciate your response. I'm looking to personalize my 3.7 and may delete the lift gate feature. What modifications have you made thus far? Any water pump, PTU, rear differential, issues with yours?

@@waltertaylor9615 Check out my FPIU playlist to see other modifications I’ve made.
As far as issues, nothing has failed on me, but the police department I purchased my PIU from had already replaced the water pump twice. They had run this engine for over 20,000 hours though!
I’ll keep adding videos of my mods and repairs to the playlist.
