i was able to get fire emblem path or radiance and radiant dawn recently. two of my grails on my list for sure! few other switch limited run games i’d really want but doubt i’ll ever get.

Man, i remember when my first tripod broke, i was surprised how useful it was! Hope you get yourself one soon! A lot of games here i need to get around to! Though i really misinterpreted the title of the video, with CHILLS i thought it would have something to do with horror music as we just entered the spooky month😅 But Video game music in general is great. As for a track that give me chills, id guess blood borne with 'Gehrman, The First Hunter' It's not the tone i expected the song to be for that segement and it really hits hard!

Enjoyed your list! That Xenoblade song gives me chills every time. Emotional music for me was when Nia - Toward the Heavens, which incorporated pieces from Drifting Soul, played as they were climbing the stairs of the Cloudkeep to find the Queen of Agnes in XB3. I about lost it. If you haven’t played Nier Replicant yet, you really need to. Emil’s backstory is heartbreaking. He’s one of my favorite video game characters now. If you like to cry, and I know you do, you’ll love it.

Hello Alex! Great picks! My wife loves Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life so I'll have to ask her about the music. I agree wholeheartedly about Midna's Lament. Games with fantastic music that spring to mind are Super Mario Galaxy, Donkey Kong Country, Baten Kaitos and Baldur's Gate 3 (if you've met Raphael, you know 😅). Might I ask if there's a sweet spot time wise in sharing music without issue?

I have a list here Tifa's theme from Final Fantasy 7 rebirth and remake is just so perfect that it tears me up every time Viola's theme from bayonetta 3 is bad A$$ I love Viola's theme, viola is awesome imo, she could've been better, yes, but still, Final fantasy Xlll soundtrack is just incredible Uncharted golden abyss from the ps vita has a great soundtrack, the soundtrack fits the game perfectly Super mario 3d world soundtrack is really well done Super mario Galaxy and galaxy 2 have great soundtracks, but I would choose the 1st game's soundtrack the most but both of those games have great soundtracks in their own way Sonic adventures 1 and 2 have awesome soundtracks! Sonic heroes' music is just so memorable. I love the seaside hill theme and what I'm made of. Oh my godwhat I'm made is such a badA$$ song. Love it! Bayonetta 2 soundtrack is just perfect. Tomorrow is mine is incredible Sonic 06, we all know how bad that game was, but you gotta respect the soundtrack, his world is such a bad A$$ song and still enjoyable to this day Final fantasy X/X2 omg that game's soundtrack is so good! that main city theme from Disco Elysium hits me in a way i can't explain and any of the music from any SuperGiant game is just so good. namely the end level intro theme from Pyre. probably the best music pound for pound in indie gaming

I remember you talking about EBA. Maybe a vid of bands or composers you’ve gotten into through video games? I know alot of ppl got into music from Tony hawk, guitar hero, EBA and JetSetRadio Future. Also I’ve defs gotten into the backlog of some JRPG composers from finding them in games.

So I’m a Fire Emblem fan (like, neurodivergent special interest flavor of fan). The main theme across the pre-Three Houses games always gets me for emotional reasons. But in-game, the FE3H big three of “Edge of Dawn,” “Apex of the World,” and of course “God-Shattering Star” just *hit*

Some great choices! There are a few tracks that come to mind for me. One is the partner goodbye scene in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. The song is called Don't Ever Forget. It is such a gut wrenching song that bring back memories of me playing the game for the first time and bawling my eyes out. Another one is the song Last Voyage from Spiritfarer. It's the song that plays as you send off your spirits into the realm beyond. It is quiet, but gets louder and just everything swells with the music and it makes me want to cry. One from Xenoblade that I love but I actually havent heard in game because I haven't played 2 is We Are the Chosen Ones. It is sung with an all male choir. It is hauntingly beautiful and just takes me away. Please give these songs a listen, they are amazing!

I love story in games but gameplay is more important and having it move faster and freer, also want traditional FE. So Engage it is. And it's better looking. Or I'll wait for the next game to see if it's better, if not then I'll get Engage. But I do wanna finish my Switch collection before Switch 2. Odd how TH has overall a 09 higher score. Really good video.

For me it's Phantasy Star IV for Sega Genesis since that was the game that really got me into RPGs, but it's way too expensive now.

3H was my first fire emblem game, and I played a lot of it, loved finding cool builds for diferent characters(trickster lorenz is the best lorenz), but after playing engage, and coming back to 3H, I find that maps and balance are reaaaally bad. Even in maddening, after the first few chapters, it gets really easy, while I love all the other aspects of the game, and don't really mind the graphics, engage spoiled me with the quality of the gameplay to the point I couldn't finish another run of 3H in a long time.

I found a complete Fire Emblem Fates special edition at a convention a few years ago for ＄７００. As much as I want to have access to the third story, I found other stuff I wanted more.

Yeah, Super Mario Sunshine is definitely one of the first games I think of when it comes to the summer time, the whole tropical vacation aesthetic everything has to it is just so summery, it always reminded me of when I was younger and my family and I would go to Ocean City for our summer vacations, I got into a habit of 100%ing it every summer for awhile. Another game that always felt summery to me was Harvest Moon 64, I didn't really play it, but my sister loved it, I have so many great memories of staying up late and watching her play it during the summer, it was one of the little things we always looked forward to around that time.

All I need is each Kingdom Hearts game complete in box on the original consoles they released on, as well as the special edition KH consoles like the GBA, Dsi, PS4, 3DS. So far I have the KH limited edition PSP

I would keep an eye on garage sales, flea markets etc!

54 games??!!! Damn I wish I was that low in my backlog. My number of shame is about 800 across my pc, 3ds, switch, ps3, ps4 and ps5.

Great list. Mine are simply 2 special editions. It's xenoblade chronicles 2 special edition and va-11 hall-a special edition for switch.

Interesting about Chrono Trigger. I have a history with it myself. My sister and I rented Chrono Trigger for the SNES back in the day, not knowing what it was and it ended up being this cool game that we loved. Never bought it. It was always expensive after that on the SNES. I don't even have my SNES anymore because it broke and it's...lost or whatever. So when PS1 rolled around, we split the cost of Final Fantasy Chronicles, which gave us a new version of Chrono Trigger that had anime cutscenes (we were both big into anime back then, so it was really cool.) Then she moved out and took the game with her (I think she gave me her PS1 in exchange.) It was only a few years later that the game came out for the DS and she got it for me that Christmas. Seeing it as someone's grail, I'm so happy I never sold it!

Chrono Trigger I paid a pretty penny for (150 AUD), but I got Pokemon Conquest, Yo-Kai Watch 3, Layton v Ace Attorney and the Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition all new when they came out. I also got Radiant Dawn pre-owned somehow, but Path of Radiance slipped me by and I dunno if I wanna spend like 400-600 AUD for it.

Final Fantasy 6, FF7, FF8, FF9, FF Crisis Core, and Kingdom Hearts 1, 2 and 3. I have no words to explain how much I love them all!

Used to own the Dreamcast version, but I'm a big dummy and sold my entire DC collection when downsizing. Now whether you're looking at the DC or Gamecube version, they are both easily over $100. 😢

Childhood NES games I used to own, but traded or sold many moons ago, including: "Dragon Warrior" (aka "Dragon Quest", I won my original copy at the boardwalk of Seaside Heights, NJ!), "Mike Tyson's Punch Out", "Top Gun", "Uncanny X-Men", "Back to the Future", "Super C", and "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link".

I’ve been able to get a lot of my own grails by searching and searching as many different variations of game titles as I can think of. Including searching with misspellings and typos in the game title, and looking through mountains of game lots or console lots, on EBay, and sites like Craigslist and OfferUp. I specifically have bought a lot of DS and Gameboy lots for pretty cheap, from people who clearly don’t know much about games or consoles. And getting a lot of great games that way. And that is a great way to think of it when you’re searching a website, you have to think like you’re someone who doesn’t know what video games are. I’ve found plenty of great lots of games and consoles both, literally by just going on Craigslist and typing in Nintendo system.
