so good to see people still keeping it alive. I love my 3ds and I'll never stop being impressed by how ageless its library will always be. These days playing Captain Toad in times where I need something playful, and Strange Journey Redux for the ballbusting.
So glad you're back, Alex! 😁😁Really great collection, I'm especially jealous of the Layton games..... I've only got the first two on the OG DS, but I'm loving them so far.
Nice video! Here's my 3DS two cents. When playing a level in Super Mario 3D Land it's like "wow that' was insanely fun", but the next day you can't even remember it. I think the common criticism that its "personality" is a bit safe/"sterile" is fair, but it's super fun to play. Luigi's Mansion 2 and the Bravely Default games look absolutely amazing in stereoscopic 3D! Wario Ware gold is probably the best WW game, really a top selection of minigames + fun voice acting and great looking cut scenes. Triforce heroes is a lot of fun if you can get two other people to play with. Got to love the silly fashion stuff/story in that game. Loved the art style of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask remasters on 3DS (but I'm kinda partial to cartoony art styles in games).
I have a 2ds, and I love it. it's way more comfortable to hold than the 3ds XL. I love the button placement on the 2ds, and the L and R buttons are better on the 2ds as well, bigger and more comfortable. When I was a kid, I got a blue 3ds XL for Christmas, and I loved it. I kept it for years until I turned 19. As I got older, the 3ds Xl became so uncomfortable to hold for me. The L and R buttons were too small for me, and the button placement felt weird to me, I'm glad I bought a 2ds from a retro game store when I was trading games and I had alot of trade ins during that time and I got a decent amount enough to to get the 2ds, my 2ds is red and white btw. Love it more than the 3ds nowadays because of my hands, such a comfortable handheld to hold for adult hands, button placement is better to me. Loved the video
Great video! I have a tiny 3DS collection of about 5 games 😂 I am currently playing the original Phoenix Wright trilogy and am enjoying it so much! I’m officially hooked on the series and wanna play all the games!
Glad to see you back and making videos again Alex! I miss my 3DS XL so much 😭it was such a great system and as you demonstrated here, it had some incredible games as well! My favorite game I experienced on this system when I had it was Ocarina of Time 3D. Also, LOVE your collection here, there's a lot of variety.
Great to see you back. Is that a nice bit of tan I see? 😉 I love the 3DS, I got it on release here in the UK and eventually upgraded to the XL version. The time I spent on it compared to the Wii U was about 1000 to 1. The best games for me were LOZ: A Link Between Worlds, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revelations, Super Smash Bros, and Super Mario 3D Land. I had much fun with the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy games too.
I've recently got back into the 3ds after it gathering dust for years and can't believe the amount of gems I missed out on or didn't give a chance back then.
I LOVED fe: echoes! It's a shorter game but I found it way more digestible than other entries for that reason! Some mechanics like magic are very different but the cast and story were great :)
The minute you showed off your red 3ds I had flashbacks of my first one, the one I traded in to get the Awakening 3ds. The nostalgia 🥰 I miss it, but I’m happy with what I have now (the Awakening 3ds and the Fates 3ds XL). Now my physical 3ds collection is the Fire Emblem games, New Leaf, Fantasy Life, SMT IV, and most of the Pokémon games. But I love(d) the 3ds so much
The 3DS era was so fun for me. I know a lot of poeple didn't like Chibi Robo Ziplash, but I liked it. Of course Pokemon X & Y was fun for me but I didn't play Ultra Sun & Moon until later, and the Mario games, like 3D Land, were classics. I miss this era so much.
I got the OG when I was a kid, and later got a New XL because my hands got much bigger, and then my brother took it and lost it lol. Then last year I scrambled to get another 3ds since the eshop was closing and settled for my friends OG 3ds since everything online was ridiculously expensive (I traded him a Taco Bell gift card of all things😂) and while it’s nostalgic, it’s soooo hard to play with my big hands
Cool collection, I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on SMT Devil Survivor once you have played it. For some reason the first one didn't release in Australia but I love the second game in the series soo much. So I hope you enjoy playing it.
I was in 7th grade when the 3DS came out and could only afford it after I sold a bunch of stuff. I could only afford the system so I didn’t get any launch games with it 😅😂 was a fun time though. Just wish I didn’t sell games that are hard to come by now
there’s a restoration mod for majora’s mask 3d that fixes a lot of its problems like the swimming and lighting (i think) and more i can’t remember right now. probably the bosses like u mentioned but again im not fully sure. i’ve got it on my 3ds but haven’t delved into it yet
I was lucky enough to nab one of the runs of 3dsxl that had ips screens back in the day. Played it so much I wore the paint off where my fingers rest. I finally took the plunge and installed custom firmware and a new battery. Been playing it more than ever now. I’m gonna do a big cry if this one ever dies because the ips screen models are soooo expensive now 😢
I think the sweet spot is in the new 3ds (small one). Its a bit chonkier than the old one yet big enough, matte finish and swappable plates. So sad that its crazy expensive
I remember getting the 3ds Zelda edition it was gold and black ten years ago now just picked up the pokamon edition diamond and Perl edition now I pre ordered the Zelda edition switch light getting that one next month
Couldn't be more wrong about the bosses being "butchered" in Majora's Mask 3D. So they all have the same eyeball-looking hitpoints. Big freaking deal. They still function nearly the exact same as in the original. As for the changes to the Zora mask's swimming, it's completely tolerable and inoffensive at worst. Ignoring both those minor things, Majora's Mask 3D is basically an objectively better version of the original in every way and I say that with absolute zero hesitation. If you're going to bother saying all those things about the remake, which matter so little in the grand scheme of things, I'd strongly suggest at least playing through a good majority of it first. 👍
I know the prices are hard to deal with. However, I recently picked up a New 3DS XL from Gamestop. They still have them in stock - refurbished. Not ideal, but it beats all of the 3DS XL's on eBay listed as NEW 3DS XL even though they're clearly not. The NEW 3DS says NEW 3DS on the back.
Great video, Alex! Love to see everyone's collections!!! The 3DS is so fantastic!!!
I still have my 2ds and still enjoy it

The 3DS will always make me happy
Great collection!! I don't have a lot of love for the 3DS itself, but the number of different games that released on it were AMAZING.
The new 2ds XL is the most nostalgic system for me. Brought it to college every day and made so many friends playing smashbros in the cafeteria!
Finding people who still play the 3ds and in public is so nice, it’s instant friendship lol

Great video! I like my 3DS XL. Much bigger screen. I appreciate your personality and joy for games.
I LOVED fe: echoes! It's a shorter game but I found it way more digestible than other entries for that reason! Some mechanics like magic are very different but the cast and story were great :)

i bought a new battery for my zelda 3ds xl..and I'm thinking if I make a mod and go back to playing on it, I'm in doubt eating away at myself
welcome back, stranger! 😄

I had the OG 3ds but replaced it with an XL and it’s so much better. No more hand cramps or eye strain
I got the OG when I was a kid, and later got a New XL because my hands got much bigger, and then my brother took it and lost it lol. Your intro and outro really scratches my brain.
Absolutely fantastic collection! I reckon the 3DS had some bangin' JRPGs, I just wish I didn't sell my own Nintendo 3DS collection 🤣

We should compare 3ds collections!

I feel you with the carpal tunnel with the 3ds especially playing kid Icarus uprising I ended up getting both hands operated on 😂because of it

Aye we back
I wasnt planning on buying a 3ds but when new leaf dropped. I had to get one
I still play 3ds games. Mostly mario kart 7 and fire emblem awakening
