Hey all! Hope you all enjoyed the video! My main goal for the next DRGS vlog is to do a better job keeping track of vendors, because I definitely think I got a few of them wrong😅 if you were a vendor at the show that I was talking about and I got your name wrong at all, please let me know so I know for the future😂
The show was really great this time around. CIB World Ends With You was such a good pick up! One of those games I have a feeling will spike in price one day as well.
Damn! Vectrex's are up to $600?! I'm so glad I picked one up at an estate sale about eight years ago. Those Pikmin terrariums look so cool! Those are the kinds of things that I get excited to see more than games. Like yourself, I'm drawn to the games that I used to have. I had a nasty habit of lending out games and not keeping track of them. With my new job last year I decided that I would start travelling more (which is to say pretty much at all) and I've decided that I will base my trips around game cons. So this year it's the Pacific Northwest for Portland and South Carolina for Southeast Game Exchange.. I'll have to add Detroit to the list.
I missed the kind of bigger arcade section, from the last show. I also missed the vendor selling soundtracks/Japanese stuff from the last show. It was a lot better actually walking around though. But for this show I got: a Japanese copy of Majora's Mask (N64), soundtrack for Comix Zone, a Dreamcast Gameshark, and finally the Persona 4 Dancing All Night Disco Fever Edition.
Those retro gaming shows in the US are getting better and better, as bigger! And it's of course awesome. You don't mention live music or conferences, did you attend to some of them? It's good when those shows offer good conferences, they are so many topics to cover. Enjoy the games and this Playstation!
I hate to admit it, but I'm probably going to be keeping an eye out for Virtual Boys the next con I go too. 😅 lol Nice find on the PS1 and I'm pretty sure the version with the A/V out connections is the original model too. Had to rebuild my PS1 collection recently myself so would definitely watch vlog about this.
Really wish we had events like this in Australia, it's pretty barren down here for conventions like this one. Loved the vlog segments and seeing all the merch in the video!
Fantastic video! (And this reminds me, I need to talk about the Midwest Gaming Classic from last month... You should come out to that one next year!) Oh! Also, if you want to have a physical Chrono Trigger (and if you're okay with it being Japanese), I HIGHLY recommend grabbing the CIB Super Famicom version. Seriously, it's like, $40 on eBay and it's great. I love Super Famicom games, how they look like super cool VHS tapes. 😂
I love seeing other's joy when buying retro games for their collection! Congratulations on all those pickups, can't believe Harvest Moon 64 is as expensive as it is. The original Playstation is still an awesome console to return to, great pickup there too!
Love these finds for you! Also not me wanting to do something like this for the next Magic or nerd con near me 👀 thanks for the video! Love these kinds of vids, and love that you got those passes!
I was in your first video about this! I also agree the new building was very very spacious unlike back in November 2023 where you were back to back with everyone. Are you also planning on going to the one this upcoming november? if so ill be there too!

Did not know this show existed. I live relatively close (Troy), so I will check it out next time. Looks very interesting.
So awesome hearing your going out to these cons! I went to a couple in Colorado too
Glad you grabbed some PlayStation goodness! That Sonic Game gear looked frickin incredible!! Great video Alex, glad you folks had fun!
Tetris & Dr. Mario FTW!! Do you guys stick to just one game, or do you Mixed Match it?
I hate to admit it, but I'm probably going to be keeping an eye out for Virtual Boys the next con I go too. 😅 lol

It was so much better this year. The new venue is awesome
Fun video! Glad you had a good time at the show 😁
😊
Glad you had a lovely time at the con! And congrats on getting invited in as a guest!
Game Age in brown city can fix the SNES issue. That's not me. It's just a store where I always get consoles fixed. He does a good job.
This vid was so so fun! Makes me want to get a PS1 again and collect my childhood games too 🥹
Glad to hear you had an awesome time! One of these days I'll finally make the trip to a cool retro gaming con :)
What a great haul! Community is one of the best parts of the hobby!

He didn't need a new N64 controller. He needed new bowls and gears for the controllers he has. They're about $1 a set.
I wonder if anyone missed me at this one...
are you gonna stream games from the ps1? that'd be fun
Can you imagine getting robbed after the Detroit retro gaming show and them stealing your games 😂 welcome to Detroit
