10 Years of Amiibo Collecting | retrospective + collection!

This fall, Amiibo will have been around for 10 years! I've been collecting here and there ever since the start and since Sora (the last Smash Amiibo) just released, I figured I'd celebrate by looking back at some of my fondest collecting memories and share my Amiibo collection!

The Noah & Mio amiibo turned out well! I've always been tempted to pick up the Yoshi yarn amiibo, they just look so neat. Always thought it was sort of a misstep to not also make a yarn Kirby to go with them.

so many amiibo! when they first announced the amiibo i was so excited because it was like we finally got a physical version of the trophy's from smash bros! One of my favorite ones is the villager and rob (japan ver). The kirby and yoshi's were a mUST when they released as well. gotta collect all the favs ya know?!

I love amiibo collecting there are a few in my collection that are not my but im going for a full set just missing two of them but I love that you had stories to go with them.

I was a junior in high school when amiibo came out. Didn’t have much disposable income but I still got as many as I could lol I got a number of them and even imported a few that I couldn’t find in the States. Still cool that Nintendo is releasing them even if they aren’t as big as before. It was fun collecting them when I was in high school but stopped the summer before going to college

I have fun collecting amiibo! I’m not planning to get them all. I only buy one if I do like it and want it. Then I post pictures of them on instagram because it’s fun! It’s my main reason why I buy more 😁

Also for Megaman suggestions, pretty much any of the legacy collections on switch are fair game. For easiest to get into and for your RPG loving self, I recommend the Battle Network collections

You’re KIDDING ME, I had no idea it had been 10 years 😳 I’m a year older so they defined my broke but eager college gamer experience.
I didn’t care about the functionality but I have such fond memories during college hunting and trading exclusives on Facebook groups with random strangers and getting my Little Mac delivered to the wrong building and having to finesse my way in to get him.
Amiibo stock was frustrating and an absolute MESS (Remember that GameStop truck getting hijacked??) but my Smash and SMB amiibo are my absolute favorite part of my collection, and I loved hearing your stories and reminiscing!

Teh quality of Amiibo has skyrocketed coompared to it's first line. The small details are clean and fine, and the faces don't look wobbly anymore. The MOnster Hunter Stories 1 and 2, Splatoon 3, recent Zelda, and Xenoblade Chornicles 3 amiibo are showcase display worthy.

On Megaman start on Megaman X on the Super Nintendo. That's what I started on and I've never looked back.

Mario, Zelda, and Xenoblade are the only 3 franchises I’ve ever collected amiibo for purposefully. I did get a Metroid dread one cause I saw it on sale but idk lol I might get rid of that one as cool as it is - unless I love dread? Idk
I’m glad they exist and it’s crazy to know it’s been 10 years

Ngl I made myself not collect amiibo in general because I know I wouldn’t stop 😅 but I do have (I hope) all the amiibo of Fire Emblem characters, some of the Animal Crossing ones, and the three wedding amiibo from Mario Odyssey
