I am a Videographer in the automotive world, a vw beetle collector at this point and I just overall like to have fun and capture memories. Ive made several UA-cam channels over the years but none ever directed at my life. So follow along as I finish my most recent Vw Build. My father owns one and I Own 2 now so why not start a channel and capture some memories with the car. Plus all the cool stuff I do with work. So follow along for bts of Car and truck shoots plus Vw Beetle Builds and tours!
Final Body Work on Our 1974 VW Beetle Restoration | Metal Patching & Protection
In this video, we tackle the final body work on our 1974 VW Beetle restoration build by repairing the rotten spots near the nose cone. After a year of rebuilding this classic, from new floors to heater channels and body panels, this is the last step before we can finally put the body back onto the brand new suspension and pan.
Watch as we cut out the rusted spots, carefully fit new metal patches, and seamlessly grind and shape them into the wheel well areas to keep the factory look intact. To ensure the body stays tough and protected, we coat the outer wheel well area with a bed liner-like coating, giving it maximum durability.
This has been an exciting journey, and this video brings us one step closer to finishing this full restoration. Stay tuned for the next episode where we put the body back on its new foundation!

1968 Vw Beetle The easiest engine to get running
Men i just ordered the napoleon hat and bottom plate, hopefully they fit, all the comments ive seen got me scared now...
If that's a 74 it has had lots of stuff changed. 74 had a drivers side mirror only. Front fenders are not 74, and neither are the bumper mounts and the rear apron. Looks like you have quite a Frankenstein there.
Timeout: are those Firebird Wheels?
Best dad ever
I have a 75 torn apart now
Waiting on the new vids!
Pretender
Those parts look like ice cream! I had a 1973 Kafer 1303 in German specs (small turn signals, metric speedo, amber rear turn signals, "overnight street parking" lights, cloth interior, etc.) and this video brought back a lot of memories. The engine wasn't very strong but it was good enough to cruise at 120 km/h.
Keep going on. You doing good. Good Luck from Germany.
Keep up the good work,it's looking good
The Motivation is a struggle, but we all know in the end the work is worth it. The Finish product is going to be AWESOME.
Can't wait to see this thing come together!!
I’ll be dropping these videos every couple days from now until I’m caught up ! Get subscribed !!
the Evaresto shocks for the 1303s are sweet! what im gonna get for mine! they are smaller then the standard so you can run nice wide wheels and slam the car if needs be!
I think that's marathon blue. It's a color used on Sports bugs. My car is marina blue. I would share a pic if I knew how
Glad to see see you.. i want to see it get done..
I drove the car all summer. Every spare moment I had was spent on the side of the road fixing it haha. I’m just behind on editing. I was filming, but now that I’m back to editing I’ll have all the footage for you guys soon! Back to weekly uploads !

@@reddmann2216 I appreciate you watching 20 mins ! The video was posted 2 hours ago and has been watched for over 27 hours combined. That’s a win.
Missed ya Bud! Good to see you back on and going!
Good to see you back at it 💪
Sorry for the delay guys but im back on schedule and ive been filming all summer long!!!
For the doors, you have to jack up under the B pillar and make sure the door aligns well before final welding to the heater channel. Live and learn.
Hey remember that time you said your car was coming to GermanAire no matter what hahahahahahahaha WRONG!!!! lol chirp season
:( next year ! but at least I got to help you break down haha
I'm in the UK and trying to do all the work myself full restoration on my 1303 1972
Ugh. My pans bad where the battery sits.
My great deal has run me a few grand already. Don’t have my motor yet!
My 2 year old grandson love my blue beetle. I had to get him a beetle toy too.
I get those goals. I’ve set them myself. I love how fearless you are tackling anything this bug throws at you.
You can do it!
I’m doing a ‘73 super. It’s a California bug so very little rust! No motor yet! The trade offs.
I'm 100% on board!!
Will there be a new video?
Yes there will be a new video dropping this week. im way behind but I have been filming so I will edit a few videos this week and get back on schedule!
You should probably wear some breathing protection LOL?
hey man want to talk?
Sure what do you wanna talk about lol
I love the Super Beetles in 73-74 ... only curved windshields... improved fresh air system w/2-speed blower... bigger trump by a lot... 1974 added the heavy 5 mph bumpers (Extra weight and cost), but in the unlikely event of an impact.... Retractable shoulder belts... ...VW still couldn't deal with the cheap, Japanese imports with the Deutschmark / Dollar / Yen advantage the Japanese had... and liquid cooling.
Did they finish this project? Working on my own 74 super restore
I will be posting the videos very shortly im just way behind on editing them
I enjoyed watching this a lot my dad has a 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle no engine that I wish we could restore but we’re trying to sell I hope to see it sold and on the road again someday
Oh man this is what I'm about to get into. Can I hire your dad?
he doesn't come cheap haha
Hey Mike i look every couple days for your next video. Show me the Money!!
im about to get back on schedule . I enjoyed the summer too much. I blew the first engine. its been fun lol
Well, a new sub to you. Cause I’m curious. Being in the start of a project myself I “binge watched” this series in about 3 days. So I was fishing for a few good tips of ideas in the videos.
there's more videos coming soon. im way behind on editing but im getting back on schedule
@@mikedeschamps good to hear, take it slow and do it well I say. 💪🏻
Yes. The sand will always be there. That’s +1 for chemical dipping.
Been waiting for the update
dropping new videos this week . way behind on editing. ive been trying to enjoy the summer a bit but I blew the first engine in the beetle and its been fun lol
The Klokkerholm firewall for this year range matches this car better. CIP1 carries this one as well.
Love the videos, I too am having the same issues with my Super Beetle project!
Watching this convinced me to never attempt this myself even if I was young(71)! Thx
hahaha
Looks sick!
thank you!
Amazing i bought also this weekend a vw bug from 74"
Yeah number #1!! What color are you painting the body? You're progress is amazing brother!
think we are sticking with the same colour. body gets done this winter
No comments? Gotta leave something for the algorithm. As always, love the content. You're definitely gonna make the show.
Appreciate the comment :). Im working hard to get caught up on these videos so stay tuned. It was a wild ride lol
Well the algorithm worked.
I love all the work you are doing to the Beetle. Definitely a rewarding job!
It really is!
I have a problem with my super beetle I cut the heater Chanel’s with out bracing the body 😢
oh no lol
You learn as You go. Best way to remove doors is to knock the hinge pins out. If the doors are aligned correctly, you don’t want to mess with the hinge mounts.
Nice to meet You Mike , this just popped up and I subscribed. Been into these old bugs almost 50 years, and currently getting close to finishing up My 69 vert. project. To do a respectable job, I think Your deadline is flat out undoable, not just think , I know it’s not. You cannot put a deadline , especially that short, on such a project. Take Your time and make the trip next year, maybe I’ll tag along. 👍👍🇺🇸
we made it close. ill post the video shortly. way behind on editing lol
@@mikedeschamps Don’t yet know what “close” refers to ? Getting it together and running and a descent frame off restoration are two entirely different scenarios. Unless Your Jay Leno and have limitless funds and an entire crew at bay, these projects do not get accomplished in a year or 2 or 3 in the real world. At least not the way I do it. 😂👍👍🇺🇸
@@brianw8963 I’ll post a video soon
