  • Well time is flying by, ive been working hard to meet my deadline of June 8 for at least having this 1974 vw Superbeetle on the road and driving. The body doesn't have to be finished but id love it if it was. In this video we take the body off of the pan to start prepping the pan for paint. We remove the transmission , all the suspension, steering , bushings, bearings. Everything gets removed from the pan so we can get the pan painted and get all the suspension powder coated. Ive chose some pretty wild colours for powder so im excited to show this side of the build off. We repaired the heater channels and floor pans on this 1974 vw Super beetle. We have done a lot on this car, over 25 videos made just for this car specifically. Go check out the full playlist! We only got the car around 5 months ago !!

When you first got the bug and every time I see those wheels it reminds me of the VW beetle German look a good few years ago 😁👀😎

I like them but I want to go a little more wild. I have a thing for wheels so im already trying to find a staggered super wide set to build a set of fenders around lol

Good luck Mike. I hope you make your goal. I plan on being at the show also. It would be cool to run into you and dad and say hello.. I’ll be looking for your car. Buster’s travels from Pennsylvania USA.

I really hope you make a mark of the rear spring plate position before disassembly. The spring bar have 40 groove inside and 44 outside and allow 3mm of heigh setting.
If you didn't do it, be prepare to assemble AND disassemble a lot of time to find the right position.
An other thing, springbar have a direction, left goes to the left and right goes... If you change it, they'll work in the wrong direction and you'll have the rear who will go down and too low in no time.

Nope didn’t mark it. But we knew this. The plates actually both sat flush to the bottom bracket so we had taken photos of how it all goes. And I engraved the drivers side shaft.

Your getting mechanical work the last few bug reworking days, instead of body work. That's different. I wonder If the suspension rear bearings can just get washed and used again. Some old things are built better than new. Don't listen to me. lol
I heard you mention the number of video's so far on the body work. You've been busy!

its been exhausting lol, im about to show you guys what I did though. The entire suspension went purple, the rest of the little bits went white, engine tins all white, stainless brake lines, all new bushings... the pan is going to look sharp this week :)!!
