2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster S Vs. Indian FTR 1200 | Spec Showdown
Ah the 2022 Sportster S vs. Indians FTR 1200.
One of Harley-Davidson’s most iconic motorcycles is the Sportster. It’s remained nearly unchanged for several years, until 2021. With the release of the Sportster S, Harley aimed to update their historic model and bring it into modern day. The updates on the Sportster S included an all new liquid cooled Vtwin that put out enough power at the twist of the throttle to bring this bike into a new segment for the brand. By new segment, I mean that this motorcycle now stands in a different category for Harley. It’s known as their top Sport Cruiser. Being a sport cruiser means there is now new modern competitors put up against this beast. One being, the Indian FTR 1200.
The FTR 1200 is a motorcycle modeled after the brands flat track bikes that always make a killing in racing. The FTR is powered by a torquey 1203 cc engine. At first glance this motorcycle might not look like a proper competitor to the Sportster S, but with a closer look…you’ll see how similar they are. Both have American made 60 degree Vtwins, both have fun ride modes, cornering ABS and traction control. They both also have a starting price point of $14,999. So what makes these bikes differ beyond their looks and brand name? Find out in this video!

Nice. How to buy this landing gear.
I keep seeing the HJC in every list going to get the carbon one
LS2 Advant X Carbon Bluetooth $729 By far the best.
Fugly, fugly helmet.
I have this on my atv and love it
If you cant balance a motorcycle , you shouldnt be on one.
Looks cool
Honda ???
From all of the comparisons I've seen, the Indian stock shocks and stock seat is very uncomfortable on the lower back. Owners report getting the Fox adjustable shocks are so much better. I've never heard any complaints about the Triumph bobber seat.
love Triumphs wish they'd get away from decals though.
It’s optional, because only iPhones need it.
no
No? Androids have OIS(optical image stabilisation) too. Unless you have a cheap phone
How come clamp is more secure than adhesive?
Combine it with a motion-sensing high-decibel alarm for those quick 5 min. trips into a store (in a safe neighborhood) - that's the *only* use case for this helmet lock, I believe.
I love my Triumph bobber. I have the chrome edition. You left out that it has mid pegs while the Indian has forward pegs. Much different. I personally love it for my short legs.
I have the complete suit and love it. It has kept me warm down to temps in the high 20 degree F range with proper base layer. It does get rather warm at temps above 80 degrees, even with the vents open and liner out. Something to keep in mind if you ride in a hot desert climate. I’ve personally worn this suit riding at interstate speeds during rain that lasted for several hours and it kept me dry. Great quality and very comfortable. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for a good quality riding suit that won’t break your budget.
Yeah these dont work
Right, just thought I’d share my thoughts. I’ve ruined my previous iPhone camera having no damper. Rode about 4K miles when it broke and then I’ve installed the damper, on 2K miles with the damper now and hoping 🤞🏻 it works but does it? Apparently it makes a huge difference when mounting the phone vertical not horizontal ( mines always horizontal) but is it though? I’ll get back here when ( hopefully not 😂) my phone camera fails having a damper and mounted horizontal to share my experience. Any tips and help on such an ball ache very welcome and appreciated. Safe rides y’all 💪🏻👊🏻🤙🏻
I’ve been using it on TWO different motorcycles listed on the suggested list. This phone has survived 2 years without issue. 2020 CBR 650R and 2022 Yamaha MT-09
What's app number plz ?
I used this this winter in Jersey and it works great. Waiting for spring and maybe getting the airbag with it.
Kk get the rider to let go 😂😂😂😂😂
As you can see in the video the phone is still violently shaking.just use an old samsung phone you dont use as a camera phone
I've been using Rain-X on my windshield, mirrors, and side windows for over 20 years on my BMW sport wagons. Excellent! No need to use the wipers even.
Well you could still roll it the exact same amount... Just backwards
Yeah I mean I match this with a brake lever lock on mine. Lol
Hi, woher kann man es bekommen?
NO WORK!! ruin my iPhone 11 pro max camera !!!! I love the idea of quad lock but unfortunately broke my iPhone camera, yes I was using the dumper vibration since day 1. Now I have the iPhone 14 pro max and I don’t know what to do I don’t trust any mount. In the end is cheapest to buy a GPS and just use the phone as a phone and camera, I don’t know. Who has the same issue??
That's because you have an iPhone, buy a better phone

...It's 3 years later. Are you still satisfied with the machine? Do you still, recommend it? thanks
I have a crazy idea of motorcycle if this invented
What is the coldest temperature you have taken this jacket in?
Yes i fitted some on my goldwing 1500 ..not the be all and end all though
Did you put the GLK?
@@smarttec8816 Yes they are the glk fc209 but I made my own brackets so it was a better fit on the 1500
@@whyyou679 nice!
@@whyyou679 I bought one for my bmw gs 1250, not received it yet! Sems to be very usefull...
how can the Scout be more bang for the buck when the Triumph has cruise control, ABS, and traction control? Simply because it's $1600 less?
I Had Schuberth and they leak badly Shoei all the way
This video is a prime example of a channel with no motorcycle compairing two totally diff classes of bikes. These two bikes cannot and shoukd never be compared. The sportster s is a street beast that eats most street japanese bikes under 100mph (which most ride anyway) The scout bobster should only be compared to the 48
Hey, thanks.. I'm thinking about getting this one to try, I'm current using the Movo acm 400. It's good but my exhaust upgrade is drowning out my voice.
Noted
indian bobber is more expensive where I live...
The outside liner, will get soaked at first light rain.
I think you swapped the sides on the frame sliders...If you needed a longer one to go to the side where your exhaust is. Second, didn't you put something under the engine because when you pull out the factory rod (engine mount) then the engine goes down because of the weight and you can't put the slider rod in?
I think the BEST would be wireless heated gloves powered by bike's battery ....does anyone make such? I envision the motorcycle would simply have powered not heated coils in the grips and the heated gloves would be powered inductively by said coils. I suppose the gloves might need their own small battery? Then the coil would wirelessly keep them charged? idk just inductive heaters powered by the field generated in the coil That seems like the best of all worlds as they would never drain down all the way so long as you are riding yet unlike heated grips it would heat the entire hand not just the palms Of course the BAD thing would be really expensive gloves if quality protection meaning you woud have summer and winter gloves. Question is does anyone make such?
I own the Triumph and my wife has the Indian. They’re both great bikes, equally uncomfortable in stock form with springs and damper rates designed for quite heavy riders. The Triumph has less power on paper but significantly more torque much lower in the rev range (108 Nm @4000 rpm as opposed to 97 @ 5000), making it faster than the Indian off the mark. Only at illegal speeds does the Indian catch it… and pass. The Triumph’s fit and finish and quality of parts are a step above the Indian (which is still very good). They are both a complete hoot to ride and they’re both very eye-catching. I describe the Indian as a “beast” but the Triumph as a “brute”. Buy both. We did!😮
I don't even own a motorcycle yet, nor do I know how to ride one lmao. But eventually, I will aim to own both just like you and your lady. Would you recommend any particular bike for a beginner?
@@JuanLopez-tq7zf hey Juan and welcome to the world of motorcycling! A beginner bike? I would suggest a standard (naked) bike with 40 to 50 hp. If you can get adjustable suspension and premium brakes in that range, then those are good things, too. Reasons: you need enough power to learn good throttle control but not so much that you don’t yeet yourself into oblivion when you do get it wrong. Next biggest thing to learn I braking. As you build confidence and skill you may notice that the bike sometimes behaves in a way that you don’t like: suspension. Get a naked because it’s easy to learn what/where everything is and to start learning the mechanics of a machine that you will enjoy for many hours on those wild wide roads!
interesting, in the uk the triumph is around £13k, and the indian is over £14k (indian being more expensive, less tech, but faster/more power)
In norway I can get a slightly used triumph for £9.8k but indian bobber is like 50% more expensive both used and new. Really sucks cause I like the Indian bobber way more.

THE MOST helpful and to the point video, ever. TYSM!!!!!!
How about the strap
Straps are weak
Electric cuz I won’t be flipped of by a group of people saying I’m to loud but both are sick
What the literal fuck lol. Nobody is doing this crap
RF 1400 with chromatic visor is the king of helmets.
Start with full saddlebags and a backpack on, that will help you get used to a bit more weight without the risk of hurting anyone
Really good information
