Basic Motorcycle Skills! Getting started on a motorcycle can be challenging for new riders. Aside from having the understanding of the basics like the rules of the road and how to gain confidence on a motorcycle, there are also many other things that new riders can do to improve their riding. For starters, I always recommend that new riders or even returning riders, take the time to take one of the many Motorcycle Safety Foundations courses. This is with out a doubt the best way to start the journey safely and efficiently.
Like many things in this world...motorcycling is actually a life-long learning process and its good to see it that way. With so many different situations that you face out there on the roads, its important to nail basic riding techniques that can help keep you and your motorcycle safe. In this video, I quickly go through 3 skills to brush up on. From a skill that will keep you from stalling to another that will help with turning even at high speeds, this video is intended to show you 3 skills that are worth brushing up on always. I hope you can get some value from this video as these skills are also important to learn when buying a new bike.

I only ride a scooter but this info is helpful to anybody on two wheels. Not so much the friction zone (no clutch) but definitely the braking and turning. Nice info.

Ah yes! You guys don’t need to deal with the friction zone 😀

Yep definitely if people have a big bike they should lock down tight turns.
Not being well versed in slow turns leaves people with 800 pound motorcycles having to learn how to "pick them up."
