What I personally think? I find it sad because these girls are still so young and everyone calling them out for their bratty behavior in these mass numbers almost feels like bullying, but with the fact that they have been acting this way and their parents are pro-MHJ I feel like all of the adults involved are toxic and the girls are going to end up being just as toxic if not worse because of their childhood fame so as sad as I find thousands people calling 5 teenagers out, it is warranted in this situation as the girls need to realize the slippery slope they are growing up on. If we start defending their live broadcast then that is only going to give the girls the delusion its okay to trash your employer openly if you're not getting everything you want. I don't think their identity is being compromised at all. What's happening is that these girls haven't developped the understanding of the consequences of their actions yet as that part of the brain doesn't stops developping until you are like 25 and their role models are toxic so they are imitating that behavior without seeing the consequences like the misguided teens they are. Anyways, on the 'Korean Issue', I can understand where this argument sometimes comes from as someone from the Netherlands. When your language isn't one of the biggest languages around then foreign tabloids/channels really can spread misinformation and the majority of people will just take their word for it. It happened in K-POP when a Dutch reporter went asking WJSN some uncomfortable questions like if they had done plastic surgery. They did this because they were making a documentary studying the darker side of K-POP, ranging from the suicide of Shinee's Jong-Hyun to the Burning Sun scandal. Websites like AllThatKpop made some blatant mistranslations to the Dutch documentary like how the reporter said stuff like, 'why are all K-POP idols suicidal', when he didn't said it at all and Kpop websites made the Dutch documentary seem less credible then it was and also doesn't acknowledge our culture at all in their accusations of the reporter being rude to WJSN. What our culture has to do with it is simple. We are a culture that values time and not wasting other people's time. Our culture is very organized when it comes to time management, that's for sure. Because fanevents are the only ways a reporter can ask these uncomfortable questions as otherwise the company gets a say in which questions are allowed, then a Dutch reporter will immediately go for the uncomfortable questions and go straight to the point so everyone involved will have their time wasted as little as possible. Let's not forget how some fans will travel for hours for a fansign. A Dutch reporter is mindful of that so he won't play nice first and get the members comfortable because it would be rude to the fans attending the event to take up so much of the idols' time. That's our way of thinking. Dutch reporters often get shamed for that in general because people don't understand the way we think and that we consider them to be the rude ones as they are wasting everyone's time with that dilly-dallying. However, in this particular case I do agree that people are just using the Korean culture as an excuse. MHJ is a manipulative groomer and I feel so sorry for the NJ girls that they had to be born to such clearly exploitative parents who don't seem to care at all for their well-being. I hope someone comes into their life and show them the right path in how to grow up into better people then the ones that currently surround them and to realize they are victims of creeps, heal and become succesful because of their own god damn talents. Also, know I am saying all of this as a 2nd gen K-POP stan who doesn't stans any groups involved with HYBE or Ador, hates HYBE along with the majority of the industry for their sins and wishes there were more acts like (G)I-DLE around to tear down the industry from within and start anew. Because so many idols are so talented yet from such an early age they are surrounded by so many problematic and exploitative people, idols deserve better.

The greedy corrupt multi billion dollar conglomerate Hybe has run a paid for smear and leak campaign against their most successful girl group NewJeans and their creator MinHeeJin to gratify the jealousy obsessed "Chairman" Bang that is angry that he can't create a girl group as great. NewJeans has repaid all the money to Hybe and given Hybe tens of millions of dollars in profit which Hybe has used to betray NewJeans, MinHee Jin and investors by using the funds to pay for a smear campaign against NewJeans and MinHeeJin even as Hybe's traitorous actions of beginning the attack have caused Hybe stock to fall 22 or 23 percent since April even after an announceed stock buyback from August 27 to September 27. Hybe has also violated court ordered injunctons by firing MinHeeJin with Hybe puppets installed to overthrow Ador and violated contracts by unilaterally destroying a contract and the contractually obligated stock options owed to Min Hee Jin. Min Hee Jin had the creative spark to create the great group and the guts to confront Hybe publicly capturing the support of an estimated 70 percent of the Korean populace angered by Hybe's mass corruption, censorship and manipulation of the media in addition to NewJeans being the most popular Kpop group in South Korea.

She's pretty popular, so if she says she was mistreated, the majority of the fans will buy into it. It doesn't matter how petty it is, "it's Hanni." Then, having the 2nd youngest say I don't want to understand is like saying I'm young and dumb and I don't get why everyone is being mean. Danielle(along with Hanni) speaks firmly. She is very vocal and to the point. She's biracial and speaks very clear, fluent English(as does Hanni). It's very clear that MHJ was concerned about adding her to the group, but she's using that to her advantage. She(MHJ) knows she doesn't have a lot of international support. Minji and Hyein seem to not say too much. They just kind of double down on the sentiments. Maybe b/c of the oldest child/youngest child scenario. Minji is probably treated mid by MHJ compared to the rest behind closed doors. She's not the "child" MHJ wanted, and it's probably apparent to MHJ that she has a mind of her own. Whereas Hyein is her "baby girl" not saying too much will bid well for her in the aftermath. I'm not sure about the clothing choices and maybe that being an MHJ call to garner sympathy, but they do not look well. And not in the "we're depressed b/c we lost our CEO and nobody likes us" sort of way. They look tired, scared, and like they're being forced to do things they don't quite understand or want to do. There's more than MHJ running this show, so there's a lot to consider as to why they would agree to this. Can you say "no" to the person over your professional(financial) success? Their parents may be in major debt to this woman and her sponsors if they turn on her. We don't really know anything. Maybe they do believe she is the only person who knows and cares for them. Idk, but I do watch behavior and patterns. It's like a team or a class. There's probably favorites here, and she knows them well enough to know who will say what and what impact it will have AS WELL AS who will suffer the most when it's all over. With that being said, these girls definitely know the risks by doing the things they've done and saying the things they've said. That live was disrespectful to their bosses. And despite how they feel or what anyone thinks, those people are, in fact, their bosses. There will be consequences, and I'm sure they know and expect them b/c regardedless of anything else they're all at the ages to know right from wrong.

You said this all very well and I agree. I subscribe to three chanels two who are korean and live in korea and tell those of us who are not Korean the nuances of the language and about the honorifics, etc... One of these people said that having the 16 year old say some of the demands and disses on the girls' live was a slap even to Korean culture and that the girls disrespected the new CEO even just as a person. I too have doubts this was just "their thoughts". Trust is earned the only thing they have shown Hybe and the new CEO is that they can't be trusted. They won't follow the rules, they will breach their contract, etc. As to ignored by the company how can the company even talk to them (certainly not as adults) when all they are going to do is not listen to anything except 'oh you poor babies and certainly we will give you back everything the way it was'. This does involve them or affect them but from a personnel stand point it also doesn't. This is between Hybe and Min Hee-jin. As to Hanni's whining about the other group's manager. Doesn't things change when it comes out that she left a key detail out like the group going by is Illit and they/their label is currently in a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin for saying things that are untrue. The realities will probably bite hard. They have been living in a fantasyland and it is over. No matter if they go somewhere else the real world and the real world of business will be there to wake them up. It is going to take time for these girls to come out from under Min Hee-jin. They need to be completely sparated from her and obviously right now they believe that they can't live without her. It is truly sad. The have been mentally and emotionally abused and we hope nothing more and for years.

The thing is that the NJ members claimed that MHJ didn’t know that they were doing this live,but MHJ gave interview and she that she told the girls not to do the live stream. But they did it anyway. So the girls lied saying that no one knew that they were giving this livestream. I think MHJ told them to do the livestream and then when people were upset or angry about it she then threw them under the bus and claimed that she tried to tell them not to do the livestream.

It's crazy how MHJ has such control over these girls. I’m 100% convinced that the girls' parents were promised something, likely ownership or shares from the company. All I know is that the adults have failed these girls. I was supportive of them initially, but after the livestream, I can't see myself ever listening to their music again.

Unlike armchair keyboard warrior fans, Korean actually live in Korea and understand nuances and cultural contexts of the situation. For example, HIbe spent around 2.5 M usd this quarter for "Hospitality expenses" when their profit is around 2.5 M usd. What is Hospitality expenses? Basically drinking in very very expensive bar where women hostess pour drink and god knows what else for "public relation". They buy out youtubers and media this way.

I dont think they are specially talented girls. Even their costume or outfit they just copied it from other kpop like the school uniform or wearing shorts or denims nor the long hair nothing special as well even the way they dance . At this point, NJ members cannot be saved. It seems to me they are fully brainwashed. Have you had any family members got into a cult? It is heartbreaking , frustrating & painful bc you tried but cant save them… at some point, we have to accept that saving them is seen as hostile by the victims. Mhj just yesterday posted in her ig a screenshot of one of the NJ members congratulating her for her speech at the Hyundai event. Everything she does is using these girls to validate and boost herself. Im not a NJ fan, but I supported them because of Bts. But, now I cant anymore because I dont want to support Mhj. If she is booted out, then will see. I just hope Ador new staff is patient with these girls and can get them counceling. But as a person who has tried to get her friend out from a toxic relationship for years, I recognize that nothing will work until the girls themselves realize what position they are in. Hybe recently offered MHJ to work with NJ as inside director with a board seat not only that but as producer too for 5 years, but she decline. Clearly MHJ want CEO seat to cash out her Ador stock options, it's never about NJ, too bad the NJ girls didn't know that about their CEO-nim.

The bad treatment was overhearing a manager of another group telling his group to ignore them. Doing his job really. I mean you dont want your girls anywhere near that carnage created by Min Hee Jin. We know Hybe was quietly gaining other evidence even before they got the injunction for discovery that got them her text messages on the company server. That evidence is what got them discovery in the first place. Of course its other managers job to protect their artists from being associated with the Trojan Horse. Apparently there was also some mold somewhere. They had a bice apartment, compared yo BTS at that stage of their career, so did they shower and not open windows? The rest of the mistreatment seems that they did not keep getting preferential treatment. Min Hee Jin seemed to have fostered an entitled attitude that believed their wishes should come first. Min Hee Jin may have actually planned zll this. Only she did not predict Hybe could maneuver her out of CEO position. So lose her pay out. I think she saw her leaving with New Jeans( Hybes Asset) and a big pay off.

I'm a Korean who lives in S Korea, and let me tell you that fandoms of other HYBE idols(BTS, TXT, LS, you name it) have recently been showing united movements to support ILLIT, whom MHJ has dissed as an "inferior copycat" of NJ. Even if you don't know about the details of this incident, IMO, that fact above alone speaks volumes.

They say we international fans do not know anything abt what’s going on in Korea.ok fine. May be we don’t. But what we know is, they have lost many of their international support, trust, and people admiration for them. They have completely lost it. They are being manipulated. A work culture is a representation of their direct leadership. The group acted within the unprofessional culture they work in. It is unprofessional for any CEO regardless of the country/norms they are bound to, to act this way with their subordinates. It is unfortunate that the girls alluded to a feeling that they cannot continue moving forward with their career without Min Hee Jin. If she truly cared and remained professional the business would continue with or without her. A professional Min Hee Jin would have prepared them to think for themselves, take care of themselves and continue with or without her. All the complaints from New Jeans, Min Hee Jin, and the parents should have been addressed and resolved by ADOR (Min Hee Jin) in coordination the parent Company (HYBE) as that is who works with them more closely on a day-to-day basis. The group was failed by Min Hee Jin, ADOR, their parents, HYBE and to an extent themselves. I agree they are being exploited however they are old enough to understand right from wrong. Everything from press conferences, behavior, etc. demonstrates unprofessionalism and selfishness from a high-level leader Min Hee Jin is supposed to be.

I thought we were done with all of this, but then NewJeans had to add something to it. Now, we're back to this mess again. When will it end? It's so sad Min Heejin actually knew she could manipulate NewJeans and they would listen to her without question. She got rid of the other girls that were probably meant to debut. The whole time consulting that shaman. Some people still don't see this manipulation tactic. She isolated the NewJeans girls. The fact is Source Music and HYBE did plan to debut them first, but you know what happened. This woman just wanted her way. Source Music already had plans to debut NewJeans first with the song "Attention" and there were more than 6 members. They just needed the branding for it which was Min Heejin's job, but she kept delaying it for months. She wanted to have her own thing. And then blamed it all on HYBE and Source Music. This is stuff you already know. It's clear what Min Heejin was doing.
