I agree with you, something should be done about trainees being overworked and demeaned, but let not forget that at the time when those slave contracts scandal was revealed, BigHit was never listed among the companies practicing slave contracts, the big3 were listed on the other hand... Since then the FTC stepped in to regulate those practices with some measures, among them the 7 years length instead of 15, the profit distribution (even if some are still finding ways to steal their idols) and giving the rights to the artist to terminate their contracts under unfair circonstance with the condition to proove it.... I think if New Jeans contrats had unfair terms, they would have use it for sure.. Hybe is known to have the best contracts favoring the artist in almost the whole industry, even the US labels are worse.... What the member of VCha revealed is real mistreatment and she provided evidences.. And I hate the fact that NewJeans also are manipulating the narratives with true bullshit and total insolence.. Saying in that conference they have nothing to say to that man while talking about BangPD is disrespectful whatever, he's older than them and he gave them the biggest budget for their debut among all Hybe artists, gave them their first very generous incomes after 2 months even tho they have no profits the first year... Being in the environment of Mhj who constantly insult those she doesn't like with slurs brought them a very bad influence... Anyway.
Also yes... YG was often exposed of disrespecting trainees and even idols... I remember CL revealing he was calling 2N1 members ugly in front of their faces during rehearsals when they had no make-up... And he literaly said in an interview he wanted to debut BP because they were prettier... And he bragged about falling for his wife when she was a child and seducing her after.

Hanni lied. Why didn’t she come out about it when MHJ was still their CEO?! Why wait until AFTER Ador refused (for the 1st time) bringing MHJ back as their CEO?! It never happened; if it did, being ignored is NOT bullying.
And even if it was said to ignore her, what does she expect after her group has been complicit in the bullying of the group? If it was said (it’s not true), then it would make sense a manager would want to keep them away from each other.
That whole ‘bullying’ accusation is MHJ’s machinations - part of her plan to take down Hybe.
And Bunnies WERE the only ones who sent in that petition fax petition to the bunny uncles to go after Hybe for bullying Hanni! It was ridiculous!
You CANNOT call an individual, who is under a CONTRACT, an employee; it’s a fundamental aspect of contract law.
And if mistreatment IS happening to these idols, where the hell are their parents? Why don’t they step in, in defence of their underage kids?! They need to bear some blame for allowing their children to be subjected to abuse.

      Not quiet.
When the supposed incident happened - and remember her Korean is so bad that she accused Seventeen of bullying when they tried to make her feel welcome and she had to be taught a commen Korean word in the assembly - she said something and there was a meeting for which they had to search for the recording because the recollection of the incident was vague.
So they sat together with the BeLift CEO and Min and watched Illit bowing to her at 90 degrees and that was it.
Only much later the claim came up that the incident ws 10 to 15 minutes later and the accusation that it was deliberatly deleted - nevermind that after 30 days the recording must be deleted according to Korean law.
(sidenote: the cameras don't record sound anyway)
Nevermind what she was still doing in the corridor alone - especially since the group has their own make-up room - waiting long enough for the entire group to get their make-up done.
Funnily when describing the event at the assembly she mentioned a Busan appearence she was getting ready for - which was incidently the next day after the supposed incident and a day Illit was not even in the country.
In fact the description is rather vague of the incident - and she was trained for at least an hour by Min and her lawyer before that but claimed it was her day idea and she did it alone.
She also looked quiet confident at the assembly and nowhere close to someone who had been treated badly - instead she was very disrespectful to her very demure new CEO. She had fun for example to take a selfie with someone and talk to her "fans".
Another member was so proud of her for "crying".

Reporting an event right AFTER they were told ‘no, you can’t have your CEO back’ when she could have reported it to MHJ right away is also so sus. I just can’t wait til they’re gone - preferably out of the KPop scene. They have damaged themselves badly in the public eye, especially now that the Davolink CEO is doubling down on his meeting with MHJ and uncle, with significant detail; and let’s not forget there are photos of her entering his house! Those girls knew it was happening…it was one of their uncles (I heard father) who set it up - no one can tell me MHJeans didn’t know what was going on.

The weight thing is an issue of the SK society and their incredible beauty standards.
I remember Bang PD talking about how a stranger walked up to him and critized him for his weight.
In this case I found the documentary snippet of Le Sserafim pre-debut interesting where someone talks to them about weight:
He emphesises that they are not up to standards but it is on them to decide what to do about it - they will not be pressured.
That is the difference - usually we find out about it at the end of a contract/after it ended (mostly). We find out they were forced to stay till they lost the weight or we find out they were measured before all trainees and than degraded in front of them to heighten to pressure.
This is not what happened here.
Here they were made aware of a fact - that Idols are expected to be thinner and even real Korean fans will make remarks on their weight when they debut without adhering to these standards. Antis use those things for snipping on possible rivals for their artists.
In fall of 2020 Suga of BTS had a shoulder OP that was absolutly necessary but it meant that he could not move as much as he used to and gained weight - it looked quiet cute. But it also meant that he got real entertainment articles that claimed he had grown fat.
And now think about how he is older, male, a full established musician/songwriter/producer, highly successfull and respected international artist.
What do you think happens with new, young, female artists?
And than there is this interesting story:
I was attending a series of lectures about classical music (in Europe) - the lecturer told angrily the story of a female violinst he knew that was discovered by David Garrett - who helped her get a contract with Sony. She was slightly pudgy - not fat or anything - and guess what was in her contract?
    Yep.
    She had to loose weight.
According to him she now looks like a Barbie doll.
That is were we are right now even with classical musicians.
There is also the economy of SK - have you looked up "n-po generation" (wikipedia)?
    It's scarry.
"The Rise if Bangtan"-series adresses it at least twice - but also the high unaliving rate in SK from youth.
    I liked your take otherwise.
I also liked RM of BTS interview with Spansih "El Pais" - it is quiet easy to find.
    Thank you!

    Who are Bunnies?
First, we know them as brainless fans of New Jeans, as the former CEO of ADOR named the fandom, as they were teenagers who supported teenagers idols, even if at that time many Armys supported the group as Bunnies.
But Armys started to give up on NJ after April last year when the former CEO of ADOR started to throw dirt on HYBE, Bang Pd and BTS.
Then Bunnies, as a fandom, enlarged with fans who supported the ''brave CEO'' who fought with a conglomerate, the ''woman CEO'' who was mistreated by the business men/misogynistic men, in kpop.
They are personal fans of the CEO - crazyBunnies. They seem to be very devoted, sometimes to devoted to their favourite person in kpop, like they are paid to write hundreds or thousands of articles about the CEO and sometimes about the idols.
In the end, besides the brainless Bunnies, and the crazyBunnies, we have the haters of BTS and Big Hit/HYBE. They are kpop fans who are kipping grudge on a group from a small agency, who had the insolence to overcome their faves groups from the big3, and to become the best group in the world.
Big hate, so they are supporting everyone who is against of one of this: BTS, Big Hit/Bang Pd, and HYBE.
I think this is the reason why the 5 fugitive idols from ADOR are so much supported to destroy their careers, because except the brainless Bunnies who love the idols, but don't realise the gravity of their actions, the ''other Bunnies'', the crazyBunnies and the hatersBunnies, don't care about what will happen with the idols at the end of this media mess.

Now of course when it comes to laws foreigners don't have say in what gets passed.

    • @moonlight_antonio
      @moonlight_antonio  9 днів тому

@kanohane Believe it or not, there are actually Koreans that feel the same way that foreigners do about how their society pressures their youth. I read a comment from a Korean, basically stating everything that I said, I’ve also heard Koreans speak on this very issue, so it’s not just a foreigner’s perspective. I don’t think that it’s inherently bad to push your child to be the best they can be, but some of that pressure is not always good, especially within the industry, which is why so many idols struggle with mental and physical problems. It’s like there’s good bits and bad bits. The difference between America and Korea is that America, as a whole, does not push their children in the same way that Korean society pushes their’s beauty wise, and it’s very evident. For example, In Korea, as a birthday gift, parents pay for their daughters to get plastic surgery when they reach a certain age so they can get a better opportunity in the workplace, that’s not some thing that happens societally in America because we teach our children to love themselves and accept themselves, and that they’re perfect the way they are, etc. It’s a whole different ball game.
I didn’t go too political, because I’m not really talking about politics stuff. I’m just talking about how America perceives the standard of beauty as being overglorified in South Korea, as opposed to how it is in America and the miss treatment that can come as a result of over-glorifying the beauty standards. Political stuff, that’s a whole separate video.
I don’t believe in the monopolization of curtain conversations - that you have to be Korean in order to critique Korean society, or that you have to be American, in order to critique American society. Or even that you have to be apart of a society/culture in order to have an opinion on said society/culture.
If I believe something to be wrong, why should I not address it? Or why should being American exempt me from addressing some thing that I believe is a societal norm that needs to be fixed?
There are some Asians that have never even stepped foot on American soil that believe that America is softer, because we don’t implement the same level of discipline and pressure on our children that they do on their children (which I kinda agree with to some extent). I believe that’s why there are so many intelligent and successful Asians, because of their parents, schools, and society pushing them so hard, but the perfection standards, beauty, weight, the way producers talk to their trainees, are on a whole other level in SK.
I’m sure they get their beliefs about western society and culture from watching documentaries and retrospective videos on our society, or living in the west for a time, just like we do Korean society, or Japanese society, or Chinese society, so is it wrong for them to have that opinion, even though they’re not American? And if so, why? And why is is wrong for us have an opinion about pressure that a society has no their own to be perfect?

Nj & Mhj came in Hybe, Hybe became mess. Those complainers are so unproffesionals. They should also punished the one who is supporting Mhj cause it feels like she has a strong rich backups. Those backers of Mhj should be investigated.

re the newjeans & min heejin drama against hybe, all people need to do is apply COMMON SENSE. hybe is home to the biggest kpop artists in the world: bts, txt, enhypen, le sserafim, seventeen, tws, lee hyun, zico, boynextdoor, &team, illit, katseye. they all get along together, share some producers, support and even collaborate with each other. EXCEPT for newjeans and min heejin, who have a lot of complaints, demands, and have publicly attacked other groups and hybe executives. newjeans and min heejin continue to actively engage in a negative PR campaign to paint hybe as the agency from hell. but the real picture is, the exception to the rule in the hybe organization is newjeans & min heejin. they obviously feel entitled and want to be treated differently, they think they're better than the other groups in hybe. yet newjeans are newbies who aren't even the biggest act in hybe; they only contribute about 5% to the agency's income. THERE ARE FAR FAR FAR BIGGER ESTABLISHED SUPERSTARS WHO'VE EARNED THE RIGHT TO ACT LIKE SPOILED BRATS IN HYBE, BUT THEY DON'T. THESE OTHER ARTISTS BRING IN FAR MORE MONEY FOR THE AGENCY, BUT THEY DON'T HOLD CRY CONFERENCES AT EVERY INSTANCE OF PERCEIVED SLIGHT, OR FILE LAWSUITS IF THEY DON'T GET THEIR WAY. and these far bigger established superstars are on record for praising bang sihyuk and for being happy to be part of the bigger hybe family. THE ONLY ANOMALY IN THE HYBE ORGANIZATION IS NEWJEANS & MIN HEEJIN: by their actions, they've exposed themselves as ingrates, crass and without class, unprofessional with bad breeding, a feeling of entitlement, and a big attitude problem. 🤮

I would like to clarify that we are not talking about a judicial proceeding but a ministerial investigation. There was no trial. Someone sent a complaint to the Ministry of Labor that documented corporate behaviors incompatible with the certification of excellence received by Hybe in 2024. Among these, also the fact that Hybe's HR office did not take any action against the Illit's manager who told them to ignore Hanni (according to Hanni). I believe that part of the science fiction "internal document" was also attached which is nothing more than a collection of online comments (those, yes, full of bullying). So in this video we are not talking about a court ruling that acquits Hybe or even BSH, but about the fact that the Ministry of Labor concluded the investigation and concluded that there was no evidence of persecutory behavior by the company or mistreatment, so the certification of excellence was not withdrawn.

This situation is not exclusive to NewJeans, unfortunately. Now every time there's news where it's about the idols vs the company, people will ALWAYS automatically shade the company and side with the idols. There's no research anything. People just blindly come out of the twitter, tiktok and reddit depths to massively shit on some company they just kinda disliked prior anyway. They never wait until the full legal conclusion has played out and just pick a side, because 'Surely a few young girls wouldn't make a mess themselves.' Imo the only way you can argue that NewJeans are victim is due to them being allegedly gaslighted/controlled by MHJ, so that's why they're being this way now.

I still get the impression that there’s someone even more powerful behind the group of girls and the former executive who managed them. They know better than we do in America the kind of harassment people face in that country-it’s nowhere near just not greeting someone. This whole situation is just crazy.

With respect, so far, the only producer at a HYBE label that has shown to participate in speaking cruelly about artists is MHJ, who was trained at SM, where abuse is institutionalized. Outside of ADOR, we've only heard about one BH manager who was immediately fired after disrespecting BTS members. HYBE coddled NJ from the start, even paying for a Hannam dorm. It was ADOR's CEO who maligned their visuals and talent, crediting their success to herself alone.

Shocked by the scale of lies and harm caused to companies by Min Heejin. This woman has probably been deliberately planning and causing harm from within for several years now. She's like something out of a thriller, a hidden enemy.

What I remember of the Hybe boys video about this Hani thing is that why in the first place where she on that floor when she didn't have anything to get ready for to have her face and haire done and then alsow alone?? She told when they checkt out the video where there wasen't any sound and the parents got mad, that they had some kind of a consert I think it was at a school becarse there was a poster of that and Hybe boy showd it BUT funny is that was some days later not the day she was on the floor and heard those words. And was/is she dead sure that the manager told about her or to something that happend insde the haire/makeup and to those who where fixt?? Someone told that old shorts have/had there oun space where they got fixt up?? If that's true then why was she there in the first place? Hani herself where rude at the asambly and to alsow say that they don't have any contract with Mhj 😂 when photoes are shown even before Hani's asambly meeting they met up. Looks like those cokees that Mhj have baked was full of bad things in them so the girls are under a spell and yet a family member told a bit too much beside there mouth that Dispatch is on them after more jucy news. I just wish that they digg out who the uncel is of a old shorts member, try to get him to talk

When Hanni made the claim that ILLIT’s manager ignored her telling the girls you don’t have to greet her there was recording of Hanni greeting staff but no other recordings after that. HYBE wiped that shit talkin bout it clears after 30 days. How would it wipe the evidence from after the fact ??? Now there are also speculations that Hanni misinterpreted what the manager said to her that day. Things come out differently in different languages. I don’t speak Korean so I have naur clue.

In my opinion, Hybe has been good now, but what if they do the same thing like they did last year? You can bash me or bully my opinions if you like. To be honest, hybe for me, I can't trust them, and I believe that something isn't right. Just because hybe is doing good this year don't mean they're in the clear. Many companies make mistakes. So I will not have more and more people try to convince me that hybe is good. I'm no longer supporting hybe. I am planning to support other companies. But keeping a long distance from the fans who will support hybe and those who won't.
New jeans will be responsible for their actions. Yes, I believe it, but this drama of hating mjh and hybe who is respectful to everyone. I just can't support a company that will turn on the good side.
I want to apologize for my actions, but I will not forgive what they did in the past. Goodbye, and have a great week.
Please don't be rude or harass me for what I believe in. No reply unless if it's a nice comment

Artists should be able to choose the company and leadership they want. When NJ signed contracts it was because they trusted MHJ leadership. Imagine not being able to leave a job or boss who no longer had your best interests at heart. Dispatch’s website has no article about the Suga incident. So yes HYBE has Dispatch in their pocket. Every other outlet reported the incident on August 7th, 2024.
