Updated to Sequoia earlier this month; had an issue with MDS Stores maxing out my efficiency cores for literally days so I ended up reinstalling Sonoma. Anyone else have this problem? 2021 M1 Max, 64GB ram

Followed this video and installed Ventura on my iMac late 2013. Runs pretty smoothly! Anyone has difficulty connecting their bluetooth devices though? It connects to my Logitech keyboard via bluetooth but won't connect anything else... including the apple trackpad. The bluetooth panel recognises those devices but just won't connect...

I have updated all of my Trashintoshes (Late 2013 Mac Pro 6,1) units to 15.1.1 without suffering any issues beyond those associated with earlier versions of Sequoia on this hardware. I've also updated a Late 2012 Mac Mini to 15.1.1. All of these unsupported systems are using OCLP 2.1.2.

I have an iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015, Quad-Core intel i5, AMD Radeon R9 M390 2 GB...running sequoia 15.1.1 everything works fine for me but netflix and amazon prime apps can't display video but the audio works..is that fixable?

Hi and thank you! I have an iMac 2011 21.5 12,1, I started with Sequoia had trouble with GPU and Bluetooth. I dropped down to Sonoma and found it ran really choppy. I then moved down to Big Sur and it is really running great but I still don’t have Bluetooth. I plan on doing some hardware upgrades to give it a longer better performing life and hope to switch back to Sequoia then. Any advice on how to get Bluetooth working again on my stock iMac 12,1 on Big Sur Wi-Fi still works fine?? Thanks again for everything. Also FYI Bluetooth was working properly when I was on Monterey. I do have it plugged into Ethernet.

Using MacBbok Air 13-inch, early 2015. 1.6 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, 8GB MHz DDR3. Using Open Core Patcher 2.1.1. And updated to Sequoia 15.1.1. Runs smoothly with no issues. Sequoia 15.1.1 took about 30 minutes to install update with no problems. Thanks for all your video's and info.

I have a 2013 iMac 14,2 and have the same issue with Software Update not just in MacOS15 but also in 14 as well. It can take forever to find an update available and then button clicks are non responsive. It works eventually, but takes several refreshes of the software update window.

Having a MacBook Pro 15 MID 2014 with Intel Core I7 16B Ram update (MacBookPro11,2) to MAC OS 15.1.1 went smoothly. As before -qhen installing from scratch- I lost my WIFI uuntil open core patcher 2.1.2 came up and did Root Patch. (Bluetooth not testet, but device is visible) Still a great Mac... thank you for your hard work !!

MacBookPro11,3 (15-inch, late 2013): the Software Update problem is present, at least intermittently, in Sequoia; in addition to that, there has always been the glitch that the license agreement won’t display, when updating macOS from Software Update (and it says that the license is not available, when using the full offline installer): so, it indeed seems to be something related to the Kepler dGPU (as someone also confirmed on MacRumors, but without explaining why). While on my MBP11,1 (no Kepler), the license agreement displays normally. Well, very strange…

Great video, thanks :) Sequoia 15.1.1 running fine using OCLP 2.1.2 on iMac late 2013 27-inch (3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1 GB and 16gb memory). I used Settings to download new OS, though this failed the first time and had to re-download (this also happened with the previous MacOS upgrade following same procedure).

I hate it my mac is going out of order , the mirror screen with iphone what is that?! Like i clicked to see the app and then when i went on meetings i couldnt get my cam back. I got so angry then had to restart the computer in order to manage that stuff. Not even talking the issues with Chrome password - finger touch doesnt work- need to put passwords manually and by default doc sticks on the screen now...and no i dont have time to look into this issues and seek resolution- i have other things to do!

Thank you well explained . Turn software updates off . Didn’t find the folders on Library . Just went on to the actual general software update . Clicked download , immediately rebooted my Mac and my Mac was up and running like a charm . Such a life saver . 🙌🏼👏🏻

MBP mid-2012 Intel Core i5 16GB RAM. Easy update - one of the most straightforward yet. Machine couldn't find my wifi at first but after OCLP root patching, worked fine. I don't know why but this machine is running particularly well after this update.

The fact that Apple's IT support cannot find and fix such a simple issue, to me is insanity. I wonder how many people bought new devices because of this simple issue. I guess it was part of their plan to get their sales up on their newest devices 🤔

I’m holding off in Sequoia for now. With the last few OCLP and Sonoma updates my 2012 9,1 MBP is running smoothly. Only quirk I have seen - I can’t get a response from the info link to the 14.7.1 and Safari updates to launch the install. Will probably end up doing the update from a boot installer.

This video helped me out so much! I've now got a new error; it will start to install high sierra and once it hits around 2 minutes remaining, it says "Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install". Any ideas?

@Mr. Macintosh I have MBP mid 2012 running OLCP on Sonoma... with 16gigs of RAM and a 512 SSD...i have had no problems since i run Sonoma on my laptop...until i tried to connect to an external Monitor via the Mini-Display port..it seems not to work ...the laptop recognize the external display but cant project to it. What could be the problem ??

Do I need two Usb drives? One to backup my data and one to install??

I also have a Late 2013 27" iMac that was having the same problem you are talking about in the latest video, it kept clocking and would never start the update. What I did last night was going into Automatically download and install, left it like that and this morning it had downloaded and installed Sequoia 15.1.1

I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro with Sequoia 15.1.1 installed using a Samsung 500GB SSD with8 GB of memory and it seems to work well except the Photo App, it will not show the photos in the Library but can see the photos in the Days. Do you have any suggestions?

The biggest benefit I've seen from the 15.1.1 update is Time Machine backups working again. Every since the the 15.1 update, Time Machine backups to my NAS failed repeatedly. Needless to say, I'm happy with 15.1.1.

Thank you so much, bro! I've managed to upgrade my MBA 2017 to Ventura, just so that I can install Microsoft 365. Too bad Pages now requires a minimum of MacOS 14. It's crazy! An obvious planned obsolescence from Apple to push their new hardwares.

With regard to performance. I have a Mac Mini 2010 Server with two spinning drives. I updated it to Sonoma and it is very slow. If you have any ideas beyond swapping out the drives let me know. What would be the best performance OS should I go back to?

On my 2.4ghz and 2.53ghz MID-2010 (6,2) MBP's I found that Monterey was a sweet spot and those Macs seem to be very stable and useful at that OS.

MacBook Pro 11.3 (Retina 15-inch, mid 2014) - Same Problem as shown in your Video. The spinning wheel runs forever. After 10 restarts, the update button came up. After pushing the button nothing happens. Checked after 30 min and it turned out that the System Settings are frozen and not working at all anymore. I had the same issue when I tried to update to 15.1. In that case after several restarts the download started after 2 hours waiting and then the installation started but never finished. The machine crashed at next start. Before I started the upgrade to 15.1 I generated a new USB boot stick with 15.1 and made a backup. Made a fresh install and reinstalled all files via backup. If there will be no fix issued to this current problem I will make the upgrade to 15.1.1 again with a USB stick.

iMac 27-inch 2011, Sequoia 15.0.1, works fine, BUT the Photo app does not show photo very well.

I am not getting an option to update now. There are only two options one is update tonight and second is restart, When I click restart nothing happens the mac restarts and again the settings says updates available again. I am using MacBook pro m2.

Tried the curl download and it never started. Stated "curl: (23) Failure writing output to destination" Any help would be appreciated
