Becasue of you, my old MacBook Pro has new life.... Thank you! Your guides are immensely valuable and have helped me learn how to update and keep my tech alive. Much love for all your work! 🥰
Hi again my MacBook Pro has still got the same problem as other people are having when you reboot it at the end it only shows a mouse and keypad or something Rectangle in it black screen so I can’t boot into any version of Ventura or Sonoma PLEASE HELP 😢 ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY 😢😢😢😢😢
@@michelespiritlevelto go back to the old OS, shut down then turn it on, but immediately after you turn it on hold option, command and r at the same time and you should get into internet recovery, turn on the internet, wait and YOU ERASE FIRST !!! then reinstall the latest COMPATIBLE macOS
All my machines updated themselves to OCLP 1.4.2 via the app. All I had to do was go through the prompts. Every machine worked perfectly. I do install immediately when updates are available to report back anything that could help you and the development team. What you do here and what the development team does to keep potentially millions of Macs going is a Herculean task and greatly appreciated.
Hi, just updated my 2013 iMac using the latest patcher 1.4.2 and 🤞so far so good. I simply followed the prompts as they came up. Total upgrade to Sonoma 14.4 took about 35mins Many thanks for the detailed video(s) which gave me the confidence to give it a go.
I have an Imac 27 inch late 2012 13.2. just updated to Sonoma 14.4 using OCLP1.4.2. Update went seamless no problems. Thank you for all your work to keep these old Macs running.
After a clean download on the first Somona which got stuck halfway on booting up, which was a month ago. Lost everything and got an SSD with Big Sir. I am a big believer in the USB installer. Went from Big Sir to Ventura, then to the latest Somano by installer and upgrading. Not a problem and working great on a 2014 Macbook Pro. Your video showed me the way so Thanks.
That was my case (Macbook Pro late 2008). Luckily it's a dualboot machine and I was able to get to internet, download and install the 1.4.2. Great work and thank you!
Although I was able to solve my WiFi issue manually I installed the new version just to be actual. MBP mid 2015 and iMac end 2015. thanks again for your good video!
Midyear 2011 imac here. Interestingly I already had the same issues updating to 14.3.1 that educovas addresses on non metal MACs with OS 14.4, login crashes, apps not getting recognized/opened. Forcequit not working. etc. This was when I tried to update just off of settings from 14.3.0. Using USB stick update, patching from USB and several manual patching plus NVRAM resets allowed me to run 14.3.1 I will definitely be waiting for the all clear from the OCLP team before trying 14.4. 14.3.1 was already enough trouble. Thanks again for your timely detailed videos! Much love and appreciation to you and the OCLP team!
Thanks for your updates, Mr. Macintosh. I bricked my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012) - stuck half way at reboot on OCLP 1.4.1. Had to wipe HD, reinstall Sonoma from a USB stick and get data from Time Machine. OCLP 1.4.2 update and Sonoma 14.4 went smoothly - just a few bitten nails… BTW, no WiFi after Sonoma 14.4 update (I plugged in Ethernet just in case), but OCLP 1.4.2 prompted me to patch it up and after reboot WiFi as good as new.
same macbook but mine 13inch macbook pro 9,2 just update oclp and install root patcher and all. rebooting, and it stuck at lockscreen loading after entering password lol. wipe it clean and can use again. i recovery the data by connecting ssd to other macbook btw.
@@dinouse Had the same issue. Nothing worked for me, but you could try booting in safe mode or select prev. boot configuration (holding space bar at boot) or reinstalling from USB without wiping out the HD. It helps that I have two very similar macbooks.
@@dinousei have the same. How can I get out of this stuck after enter my password. I really don’t want to format it again 😢😢😢 Please, suggestions? Thanks
2017 iMac user here. The update instrux from your previous video worked fine. After installing the Sonoma update and rebooting, OCLP detected that I needed to install root patches for modern wifi, and after installing those and rebooting again, everything works as it should. Thank you for your superb tutorials.
How many user accounts do you have on your machine? Cause I’m in trouble getting my WiFi back, and I think it’s somehow related to numerous user accounts I have on my computer.
iMac 13,2 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1 GB, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. 3TB SSD, Fusion. I think, so far, that OCLP 14.2 is the best iteration so far. I haven't had any graphics issues so far. Earlier versions, and earlier OS such as Monterey and Ventura, and Sonoma, I would get weird green screens on VLC and Brave browser. Had to restart the app. Also, I have had no kernel panics yet, which I have had before. But, I only installed when your second vid, after the warning one, came out. I always update OCLP when it comes out. Oh, and the newish update macOS from System Prefs worked just as if it was native. Cool. Did have the broken WiFi known network thing though. It's fine now, I think.
This fixed my 2017 iMac 27" 5k. The 1.3 broke my wifi and it was totally gone. Replacing the OpenCore Legacy Patcher in the Applications did the trick.
2009 Macbook pro running monterey with OCLP 1.3.0. I got tired of hitting the ignore on the OCLP update so I finally updated to 1.4.3. For some reason this broke my wifi. After reinstalling 1.3.0 it still would not work so I downloaded 1.4.2 from another computer and now it works again. Just thought I'd share in case some one else is having similar issues with 1.4.3. Thanks for your videos.
Funnily enough I used this last night to update my High Sierra 5,1 to Monterey (first time using OCLP), all worked well after a few manual drive selections during bootup. Really impressed by the inbuilt patching/support for non-metal GPUs - I'm using a 5770 1GB and I've not noticed anything to suggest it's not performing well! Thanks for your ongoing guidance on these topics :)
This answers a q I just asked about a much earlier video about maybe getting AirPlay to Mac out of a 2008 MBP 4,1 using MacOS13.x.x installed with OCLP. That vid 2 years ago talked about 2010-2017 Macs. This is what I gather from this vid: 1) Now I can use OCLP 1.4.x to install MacOS 13.6.x since it includes legacy wifi card f support which I overlooked earlier and obviously I can leave the legacy WiFi card in it, no need to change it out based on some earlier Mykola advice before they solved the legacy wifi card problem. 2) OCLP 1.4.2 allows updating to the latest Monterey version, 13.6.5, with the workaround to have WiFi reenabled, so I can explore whether a MBP 4,1 can have AirPlay to Mac.
Thank you will try tonight. Ran patch update yesterday and broke wifi on my iMac running Monterey. Can’t turn on wifi currently. Will try connecting via Ethernet first to get hot fix.
2 problems with this release: 1) Legacy wifi does work, as long as you do the forget/re-add thing. However, if the machine goes to sleep, wifi disconnects, and the forget re-add has be donbe over. I just keep the machine hard wired. 2) When creating a USB installer, the progress meter does nothing. There is no idication of what has been done. Once the installer is finished, the app does tell you, but prior to that, it seemed as though nothing was happening .
For me, the 14.4 installation went fine on my laptops, except I forgot to update OpenCore on my MBA 6,1 before installing. The installation did go fine, but I couldn't log in as the trackpad and keyboard didn't work. I was able to use a USB keyboard and mouse though no problem to apply the new OC and root patches
Thanks again for the detail video. For OCLP 1.4.1, my 2015 iMac (17,1) stacked during reboot at half status bar.that was before MacOS update. I tried multiple safe boot, it eventually booted into safe mode. I have to reapply the 1.4.1 again then rebooted appeared as normal. Not sure if it just a fluke. Just wondering if anyone experienced similar.
I’ve been running macOS 12.7.3 on a mid-tier 2013 iMac off an external Samsung T7 SSD using OPLC 1.3.x for a while. Every few hours, my wi-fi would disconnect and then spend about 30 seconds reconnecting. I figured it was a hardware problem, but I’m happy to see that it might just be a software fix. I just downloaded and installed OPLC 1.4.2 and did everything expect post-install root patches and reboot because I’m also downloading macOS 12.7.4 and the latest version of Safari through system preferences. Every time Safari updates, I need to reinstall the root patches, so I’m waiting for that to finish first. I now realize that I should have updated just Safari first because now I’m waiting forever for the 12.7.4 update 😅
Looks like it finished installing Safari 17.3.1 right away, so now I’ve installed the root patches. No reboot yet. Let it do it on its own for the 12.7.4 update so I can go home! (Hopefully I don’t discover that I need to do the root patches after the 12.7.4 update installs.)
Cant thank you enough for your awesomely helpful videos. I non-chalantly upgraded Ventura to 13.6.6 and discovered the non-working wifi the hard way. Followed your instructions and I'm back up and running. 21" Imac Mid-2011. Where can I donate?
hi Mr Mac - yeah my iMac late 2013 has a problem with boot up and it hangs at about two or three sessions of going through the "install" process - I'm up todate date with 1.4.2 - it has worked once this week as I did a test external ssd to see if it worked after this I'm stuck .. as always great videos and work to keep our old Macs going...
Hello Mr. Macintosh. I have a MacPro (Mid 2010), I just did the OCLP 1.4.2 update running macOS 12.7.3 and I was left with no internet connection after doing the update. Someone in the OCLP Facebook Group said a PRAM Reset would fix it, which I have done but still no internet, nothing at all, no WIFI, it can't even see the network. Any help or advice or assistance...?
I have the same issue going on with my mid 2010 MacBook Pro after installing Monterey. Can’t find any networks as well as connect to wifi. I have been using Ethernet which works but would love assistance on this as well.
I absolutely love the work you guys have done on this amazing piece of software. One request... could you please ask Nikola to make it possible to enable keeping settings after upgrades? I don't like seeing the boot picker & have to either break off the prompt to upgrade the boot files, select disable boot picker & then run the upgrade or perform it & have to do it again to enable the setting. Thank you so much.
As commented in the previous video, my MacBook 5.1 successfully updated do Monterey 12.7.4 and everything works. On the other hand, as I made the mistake to update my iMac 10.1 to Sonoma 14.4, I had all the problems reported (failed attempts to enter my account, top menu bar not showing, and keyboard not working except for entering my account password). Lucky I managed to enter my account and the top menu bar appeared and the keyboard is also working. I think I did this as I waited for the screen to turn off after starting the computer, and only then tried to enter my account. The first time login window crashed, but the second time was successful and even the WiFi was turned on and showing the available networks. Even though I was not able to successfully connect to any WiFi network.
I can confirm that with OpenCore 1.4.2 my iMac non-metal 10.1 is able to connect to WiFi after resetting the connection as mentioned in this video. So, if you manage to enter into your account in a nonmetal with everything working no problems are to be expected in Sonoma 14.4…
I upgraded my 2017 MacBook from supported Ventura 13.6.5 to unsupported (by apple) OCLP 1.4.2 Sonoma 14.4. Only problem was that auto reboots during install selected wrong partitions to reboot so first reboot after initial install from Recovery rebooted back into Recovery from the external installer SSD. I had to start again (probably could have just restarted) and watch reboots to select macOS Installer partition first two reboots and then for later select the internal partition being upgraded usually Macintosh HD.
Imac 27” 2017 running Monterey to test Sonoma I Installed Sonoma first on my external SSD that was also running Monterey , everything was working great except I didn’t have internet , no Wifi on Sonoma. Used OCLP 1.4.1
After succeeding upgrading my 2017 MacBook from Ventura to Sonoma 14.4, I moved on to my late 2012 Mac Mini 16 GB upgrading from OCLP 1.4.2 Ventura 13.6.3 to OCLP 1.4.2 Sonoma 14.4 but no joy. I used the same installer from USB attached SSD as worked for MacBook. Install appeared to be working with initial install from Recovery, reboot to macOS Installer, 2nd reboot to macOS Installer, 3rd reboot to Macintosh HD (macOS Installer no longer present), but then 4th reboot to Macintosh HD showed Apple Logo and progress bar which stuck at estimated 3% and stayed there with no change for at least 20 to 30 minutes. This was the same sequence that worked on MacBook. I restarted from Recovery and got stuck same place. I then rebuilt the SSD installer using MacBook and tried again and stuck same place. Next I erased the internal drive and tried to install Sonoma clean but stuck same place. Finally I used my old USB stick with Ventura Installer created for original install on this Mac Mini, erased the internal disk, and Ventura succeeded installing. I upgraded OCLP to 1.4.2 then used Software Update to upgrade from 13.3 (from installer) to 13.6.5 and then used Migration Assistant from Time Machine backup to get mostly back to where I was this morning. Migration missed a few things I could fix but mostly did a great job. Do not know why Sonoma kept hanging. Would appreciate any help offered. Thanks.
i never used monterey so im not sure what to compare but in my experience on 14.3.1 i've liked it and its a pretty good school laptop to use. there is some slight slow switching from apps when multitasking but its not the worse ive used as far as slow pcs go. @@tommyfp
Sonoma update went well on a 2015 Macbook Pro and the previous versioin of OpenCore. Only issue was that it would not unlock with Apple Watch. OpenCore update 1.4.2 fixed that issue.
I installed everything on my iMAc 27" 5K from 2017. No problems. Yet my father in law just hit update for Monteray on a 2009 MBP . No usb after even with trying every hub I have, installing patches to a USB key etc. I am downloading Monteray again and will make a new USB key from the iMac (hope the MBP is 5,3). Hope overwriting the current suystem won't break the data. I do have a TM backup from 2 weeks ago.
Hi Mr. Macintosh I'm running a Sonoma 14.4 on a Macbook pro 15 inch early 2013 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. Can you guide me as to how I could troubleshoot some issues? I'm for instance having trouble opening MuseScore. Somehow MuseScore makes my mac switch to the dedicated GPU and then MuseScore crashes before it opens. IntelliJ also crashes on dedicated GPU. Otherwise, I don't see too many issues with running on either dedicated or integrated other than the mac freezes every 2-3 days and I have to reboot, and I still don't know what causes these frequent freezes. So, any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Thank you for your work!
12:27 u got an old install of macos too. its prob one of the best old macos 10.7 in style than todays one i do miss the old style and being able to use it like as if it was 2010 and 2012 again.
Seems like MacOS Sonoma 14.4 has broken the hibernate 3 state on my 2012 15" MacBook Pro. I downgraded to 14.3.1 and the hibernate / deep sleep function returned to normal. But the 14.4 update, either by upgrading from within System Settings or by creating a 14.4 OCLP boot disk and completely wiping the drive in recovery and starting fresh, both break the normal hibernate function. Too bad, because it's a big battery drain. However, everything else seems to be functioning normally.
mid 2014 and os 14.4 here. The system crashes sometimes when using wifi. after reboot, wifi can not work, and there's an exclamation mark in the wifi icon. Now I use a usb hub to connect network
on Montery Steps Followed: Opened the Terminal and ran the command diskutil APFS listSnapshot /, which shows the result as seen in the video. Opened Software Update, checked the first and last options, which required a password. Navigated to Library/System/AssetV2/MacSoftwareUpdate and deleted all the files inside. When I press restart, it doesn't go to upgrade; it simply restarts the Mac. opened doesnt resolve
MM, I thought I'd update you on an issue I have with video on my 21.5" 14,3 iMac. I'm on OCLP 1.3.0 running Ventura with latest update 13.6.6. When I'm using Chrome browser the background flickers and I have to use full screen mode so I don't see it. If I use the Safari browser (with the latest update 17.4.1) I am OK. I've also had the Numbers program crash while copying and pasting from page to page. I rebooted the machine and the Numbers issue seems to have gone away, however.
Thank you for all your hard work!!!! Hi this might not be a thing but I am on a Mac Pro 5, 1 on Sonoma. The only issue I have is I have a Radeon VII installed, and it works great. However, OpenCore Bootpicker's Resolution is all off. I have an ultra wide and the card doesn't seem to adjust like my 580 or 6800 did. Is there some way in legacy patcher boot picker to manually adjust the resolution of the boot picker?
I successfully upgraded to Monterey 12.7.4 using 1.4.3 but my legacy WiFi won't connect. I can see the list of networks, but it won't join. Cannot join manually either.
Since updating to 1.4.2 my 2012 iMac gets stuck booting up. I cannot find a solution online. I also updated my 2010 MacBook. It boots up, but now I no longer have WiFi, which I had before the update 😅

Appreciate what you do thanks. I have a late 2013 iMac 14,2 which was running Sonoma 14.3 fine. I messed up and installed the Apple update and was on an older version of OCLP. Now the Wi-Fi doesn’t work and if I can get it to start up desktop locks up fairly quickly. If I command R that brings up 4 options but Time Machine doesn’t have the OS. Am going to try using another Mac and loading the OS and kernel files and then booting the iMac from the usb - wish me luck
I have the same machine and have sonoma 14.4 but AppStore is broken says cannot connect. Did you encounter same problem or is AppStore working for you.
MacBook Pro Mid 2015 (11,5) macOS 14.4 and OCLP 1.4.2 all working well. Very happy. I notice that old KDKs are building up in the KDKs folder. Is it normal that older versions are kept around or should the be deleted? I have "Remove Unused KDKs" checked in the Application settings but they persist. Is it safe to delete the old versions?
Is Ventura on OCLP secure and safe? I’m running it on my mid-2011 27” iMac with upgraded ram to an external SSD. (I kept the last supported OS on the internal HD as a backup, but my iMac loads to the Ventura OS on the SSD.) I rather wait a bit for Sonoma because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. So I just want to make sure Ventura ain’t broke.

I have a 2009 MacPro. Running Monterey 12.7 with OpenCore was fine, but when I upgraded to 12.7.4 Wifi was not able to connect. No networks were detected, and entering details manually also did not help. I still have the 12.7 on a different drive, so now I am back to that. Any advice on how to fix the Wifi on 12.7.4?
Mr. Macintosh, I have an iMac14,1 with Ventura 13.6.5 installed using OCLP 1.2 back when. I want to upgrade to Sonoma. Now that I updated to OCLP 1.4.2, do I have to build a Sonoma boot disk thru OCLP 1.4.2 and upgrade that way or can I just click upgrade to Somona thru Software Update in Ventura then patch after the upgrade? Also does my iMac14,1 qualify to upgrade to Sonoma with OLCP 1.4.2?
Advice from OCLP devs is that major OS upgrades (eg 13 to14) should be done with an installer. For minor upgrades (eg 14.3 to 14.4) you can use Software Update where OCLP should auto-fire up after update and you need to redo patches.
2009 build. Installed Monterey with 1.4.2 OCLP on an externnal SSD. If i leave the computer unattended i.e no activity, it goes to sleep. When i wake it up, only the mouse works. If i click/run on any program there is no response. I have to kill he power supply and reboot. Any help with this here? Another issue is if i am browsing on chrome, if there is no activity for a few minutes then chrome will shut automatically. Thereafter computer becomes unresponsive.
I'm running 12.7.3 on my MacBook 5,2, it works so well on Monterey that i have no plans to upgrade to MacOS 13 just yet, i'm glad i didn't make an incremental update yet either. I think Apple is definitely aware of open core legacy patcher and want the old machines gone even though the users of such devices are quite niche
Apple don't care. But, we are into year four of M chips. It won't be too many years before Apple stops supporting intel Macs at all. The oldest Mac Sonoma supports officially is the 2017 iMac Pro. Everything else is newer than that, and I'll bet it gets worse this year when whatever they call macOS 15 is released. It happens. I have some old PowerMac machines that I like to keep going. But they are hopeless by today's standards, and can't even connect to the internet. My G4 Cube is more of an art piece than a computer these days.
Been going through your great videos! I have an issue with opening the OCLP on my computer. I am able to download the latest version, drag it to applications but when I wanna open the app it just bounces in the dock and then quits itself. I have tried opening the OCLP app via terminal but the issue remains, just bounces and the quit. I'm running in a macbook pro late 2011, high sierra. Any suggestions on how to move on from here? :)
Since updating to 1.4.2, my mid 2014 MacbookPro Retina version will not use 5.0 wireless. It tries to connect but doesn't. Other items like my iPhone connect to the 5.0 WIFI. Is this a problem you have seen with other users?

I can't dictate text on MacOS 14.4 & OCLP 1.4.2 on my MacPro 5.1(2012). 😑 Microphone and Siri work. But text dictation works on MacOS 14.3.1 & OCLP 1.4.2. 😀
Modern Wireless patch doesn’t work for me since, say, version 1.0.0. Latest 1.4.2 update didn’t do the trick for me either. iMac 18,3, macOS Sonoma 14.4. Living without WiFi since the initial Sonoma release. What can I do to get it back? There’s little to nothing on this issue on the internet.
My late 2102 iMac isn't sluggish at all once the root patches are installed, but it can take a moment to wake up from sleep and reload graphics. Once awake it's fine. Before this update it would sometimes not respond to some things, like launching an app from the Dock. Not often, but it would require a restart to fix. I've had this update up for nearly two days and it hasn't happened yet. It usually only happened when idle for a while. I don't like it but I can live with it.
@@greebo7857 yeah, i see.thx for responding, it helps me a lot. It's an i7 with nvidia graphics. It felt snappier in the past. Will look at cleaning up old apps . Maybe there is a directory with many small files. That used to kill performance always. I can certainly live with it too, but sometimes. Waiting for safari to start is curious.
I installed Ventura with OCLP on my mid 2011. the installation worked fine and I restored it with my old HDD to get all the data that worked fine too but now my imac is in a boot loop. How can I fix that? I couldn't find it anywhere. Please help.
Hello Mr. Macintosh, I have a MacBookPro10,1 (Early 2013) with Broadcom BCM943602C (Modern Wireless), I have already applied OCLP 1.4.2 but the wireless is not "working", there is some strange behaviour, when the machine is started from cold boot, it can connect to internet for just a few minutes, then it is completely out of reach, but it is still showing it is connected to the router, I have switched to different router, still got the same result. Is there any clue?
Hi, I did an upgrade to Sonoma (14.4.1) with the latest OCLP ... I however missed out on the previous patcher that fixes Wifi. My machine (2017 iMac) works fine but ... no wifi. I tried to follow the instructions in your video but I get nowhere on my machine. Any other suggestion. I also cannot 'downgrade the patcher as Apple will not allow it. Anything to help out here ?
Hi, today I installed Monterrey on my iMac 12.1 (mid 2011) bring back some functinality but I can not use airplay with my Apple TV, do you know any fix? I used quiet a lot, the only functionality that I really would like to bring back, thanks
I have a MacBook Pro, mid 2014 15 inch model, and since upgrading to OpenCore 1.4.3 and OS 14.4.1 it won't connect to the 5.0 gz wifi. It will only connect tothe 2.4 ghz. Is anyone else having this problem?
Update. I recovered some key functions or shortcuts. Had to go to settings >keyboard> keyboard shortcuts and then add some shortcuts like thelaunch pad or mission control. Keyboard brightness , Brightness , Sound can't be accesed throu shortcut but you can add it to the top right of the screen (menu bar) in settings> control center and add them to be in control center or on the menu bar. Media controls are also not functional through shortcuts nor menu bar just in control center it shows whats playing if you add it in the control center settings. Sucks to have to do all this workaround but at least I can continue to use my old computer. Hope this helps anyone looking for answers
Hi Mr Macintosh. My 5,1 Mac has seemed to loose support for my RX 570 Polaris card. Graphics acceleration seems broken. Can you point me too a potential solution?
@mrmacintosh, if I upgraded for ex the 13 Ventura to 14, and now the boot got into a loop, is there a way to solve this problem? Like, to put an usb and upgrade the OCLP only?
Hi, Just did the hot fix for 1.4.2. everything is back up now, however I ow see the Boot Picker icon whenever I reboot. I have a MacBook 2011 and I was using Sonoma 14.0 and OCLP 1.0.1 but with no issues but as soon as I updated to the latest OCLP 1.4.2 it broke my wifi. I get stuck on booting after the root patch. What could be the cause because I have gone through the steps and can’t figure it out?
I've got an IMAC Mid 2011 currently running Monterey 12.7.2. I got a message from legacy patcher 1.4.2 but didn't go any further. However although the Mac works fine when the screen saver kicks in it won't start up again without being fully restarted. Any suggestions?

All my machines updated themselves to OCLP 1.4.2 via the app. All I had to do was go through the prompts. Every machine worked perfectly. I do install immediately when updates are available to report back anything that could help you and the development team. What you do here and what the development team does to keep potentially millions of Macs going is a Herculean task and greatly appreciated.
Hi, just updated my 2013 iMac using the latest patcher 1.4.2 and 🤞so far so good. I simply followed the prompts as they came up. Total upgrade to Sonoma 14.4 took about 35mins
Many thanks for the detailed video(s) which gave me the confidence to give it a go.
Your video showed me the way so Thanks.
updated using 1.4.2 patcher. installed Sonoma 14.4 and install patches, no issues. Late 2013 27Ich iMac i7, hope that helps other users.
That was my case (Macbook Pro late 2008). Luckily it's a dualboot machine and I was able to get to internet, download and install the 1.4.2. Great work and thank you!
Late 2009 IMac back alive with wifi working fine. Thank you for your guidance and generosity!
You my good sir, have saved me. Been banging my head against the wall all day trying to figure why my Mac all of a sudden can’t find WiFi
OCLP 1.4.2 update and Sonoma 14.4 went smoothly - just a few bitten nails…
BTW, no WiFi after Sonoma 14.4 update (I plugged in Ethernet just in case), but OCLP 1.4.2 prompted me to patch it up and after reboot WiFi as good as new.
same macbook but mine 13inch macbook pro 9,2 just update oclp and install root patcher and all. rebooting, and it stuck at lockscreen loading after entering password lol. wipe it clean and can use again. i recovery the data by connecting ssd to other macbook btw.
@@dinouse Had the same issue. Nothing worked for me, but you could try booting in safe mode or select prev. boot configuration (holding space bar at boot) or reinstalling from USB without wiping out the HD. It helps that I have two very similar macbooks.

@@maxdezigner just one user account
iMac 13,2 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1 GB, 32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. 3TB SSD, Fusion.

I updated to macOS 14.4 after updating Open Core to 1.4.1 and had no problems. Then I updated Open Core to 1.4.2 and all is running well. Mac Pro 6.1
Thank you will try tonight. Ran patch update yesterday and broke wifi on my iMac running Monterey. Can’t turn on wifi currently. Will try connecting via Ethernet first to get hot fix.
2 problems with this release:
1) Legacy wifi does work, as long as you do the forget/re-add thing.
Had a problem on Late 2013 iMac unable to unlock with Apple Watch, but updating to 14.4.2 seemed to fix the issue.

Used OCLP 1.4.1
iMac 14,2 and Mac Mini 7,1 both updated to 14.4 without issue with OCLP 1.4.1. Auto join wifi fixed with 1.4.2 on both machines.
Thanks.
Thank you for the advice, I got my MacBook Pro 2011 running macOS 14.3.1 and it runs good
in your opinion - is it worth to upgrade my macbook early 2011 from monterey 12.7.3 to sonoma 14.3.1 ??
i never used monterey so im not sure what to compare but in my experience on 14.3.1 i've liked it and its a pretty good school laptop to use. there is some slight slow switching from apps when multitasking but its not the worse ive used as far as slow pcs go. @@tommyfp
Sonoma update went well on a 2015 Macbook Pro and the previous versioin of OpenCore. Only issue was that it would not unlock with Apple Watch. OpenCore update 1.4.2 fixed that issue.

Hi Mr. Macintosh
I'm running a Sonoma 14.4 on a Macbook pro 15 inch early 2013 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.

Seems like MacOS Sonoma 14.4 has broken the hibernate 3 state on my 2012 15" MacBook Pro. I downgraded to 14.3.1 and the hibernate / deep sleep function returned to normal. But the 14.4 update, either by upgrading from within System Settings or by creating a 14.4 OCLP boot disk and completely wiping the drive in recovery and starting fresh, both break the normal hibernate function. Too bad, because it's a big battery drain. However, everything else seems to be functioning normally.

on Montery Steps Followed:
Opened the Terminal and ran the command diskutil APFS listSnapshot /, which shows the result as seen in the video.
Opened Software Update, checked the first and last options, which required a password.
Navigated to Library/System/AssetV2/MacSoftwareUpdate and deleted all the files inside.
When I press restart, it doesn't go to upgrade; it simply restarts the Mac.

Are there other people with 2013 hardware that experience more sluggish Sonoma?
My late 2102 iMac isn't sluggish at all once the root patches are installed, but it can take a moment to wake up from sleep and reload graphics. Once awake it's fine. Before this update it would sometimes not respond to some things, like launching an app from the Dock. Not often, but it would require a restart to fix. I've had this update up for nearly two days and it hasn't happened yet. It usually only happened when idle for a while. I don't like it but I can live with it.

I tried to follow the instructions in your video but I get nowhere on my machine. Any other suggestion. I also cannot 'downgrade the patcher as Apple will not allow it. Anything to help out here ?

I have a MacBook Pro, mid 2014 15 inch model, and since upgrading to OpenCore 1.4.3 and OS 14.4.1 it won't connect to the 5.0 gz wifi. It will only connect tothe 2.4 ghz. Is anyone else having this problem?
If I have a MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2012 that says Metal 2 in the metal support section of the Graphics/Displays, will I be ok with the upgrade?
open core updated a couple of days ago and I lost the funtion buttons on a Macbook Pro mid 2014 running ventura 13.6.1
