As a community service, I’d just like to suggest that you NOT underestimate the risks on local roads and trails at Slieve League. One of the dumbest things I’ve done as an ordinarily responsible father was to drive one of ours sons along the cliff edge road in a 5 speed, way too large, VW Caravan. My wife was smart enough to yank our youngest out of the van and wait behind. The road was more like a dangerous hiking trail, and when I realized it would be hours of one-way eight foot wide ring road driving to get back to them, I attempted to find a turnaround. In most places I could look straight down at barely visible seagulls a thousand feet below. When I found a spot with with six extra feet against the bank-side cliff wall, I tried the 10 point U Turn. A Mini Cooper came around the bend and when I asked the two fellas for help in flagging clearances they refused (probably French; definitely losers), and their faces were white as ghosts. TMI, but obviously I made it back. The oldest boy was smart enough to say very little about the event to his mother. I still cringe at the recall. Forewarned is forearmed. Wished some knowledgable local was available for advice back then.

Amazing video ! One thing Western Union exchange rates are normally AWFULL compared to other ways of sending/ exchanging money …. As far as mi remember I would lose 10% of my money if I used Western Union ….. Also 35 USD for an entrance to an amazing National Park is not hefty compared to the 20 to 30 English pounds I have to pay to enter each tourist attraction here in London for example . The last thing I was going to mention ….. trying to get a flight in the last minute in high season it is Impossible….I suppose you guys went on low season . Cheers !

Thank you for visiting India! While it is a highly populated country and some challenges may arise, I assure you that the people are generally kind-hearted and welcoming. Although you might encounter some issues, taking necessary precautions will help. I highly recommend exploring more places in India, including Mumbai, the southern regions, various locations in Rajasthan, and Kolkata. Wishing you lots of love and a wonderful journey!

Plis! the name "Patagonia" is absolutely of Chilean origin; there is no "Argentine Patagonia"; This was a contemporary appropriation (theft) by the Argentines, which they later took advantage of for purely commercial-tourist purposes. "Patagonia" derives from the expression "Patagones" with which the Portuguese navigator, Hernando de Magallanes (1480-1521) called the natives and aborigines who inhabited an area of the southern Atlantic coast that he called “Puerto de San Julián”, and all these territories legally belonged, de jure, to Chile and its direct predecessor: the Reino de Chile or the Capitanía General de Chile (1541) Not even two centuries later, in 1776, when the Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata was created (the direct predecessor of today's Argentina), those territories belonged to them; because the geographical limits to the south of that viceroyalty were only from Buenos Aires to Mendoza. One hundred years later, in 1881, while Chile was in full war in the north with Peru and Bolivia; The Argentines took advantage of the Chilean defenselessness in the south, and ended up appropriating all of Chile's eastern Patagonia and, of course, the port of San Julián. And this is how Argentina maliciously appropriated Chilean eastern Patagonia (the mostly desert part that we see on satellite maps) and is also now trying to take over, for tourist and commercial purposes, an ethnic-cultural history in which it never participated. Finally, the Patagonians - Aonikenk or Tehuelches - were not only found in the surroundings of Puerto San Julián (the eastern Chilean territory STOLEN by Argentina) but also carried out mostly their activity, intercultural exchanges and settlements in the vicinity of the Strait of Magellan and in less measured in the Torres del Paine National Park (Lake El Toro), both Chilean sites.
