woow memories! I was in South America 1 year ago.. for me it is the most beautiful and diverse continent in the world, I remember traveling through the mountains of Peru and then reaching the Peruvian jungle to live the experience of ayahuasca, Peru is the country of origin, It was something important in my life. amazing video!! thanks
Thanks to the USA, who thinks they have the right to call them selves they say we SA are a different continent! We are one, there is only one America not two and we are Americans just like you! We are one continent, N, C, S, is only so we know what part of America we are talking about. 🫥
Great video guys! I visited Peru before the pandemic and dream of returning again! It has the best places in South America, "Sierra del Divisor" a little explored site that is fascinating! it is a pyramid-shaped mountain in the middle of the Peruvian jungle, the locals are very friendly, the Peruvian jungle covers almost the entire country, very beautiful jungle places.
Found your videos extremely helpful. Thank you so much. My husband and I are planning a two month trip for this coming summer and were blown away to see how inexpensive you two made it. An inspiration.
I'm going to travel south america for about 4 months in the end of this year and i couldn't be any more excited! Your videos help me a lot planning the trip so thanks so much for your work. 🤍
What a great video and awesome places in South America, amazing experience for anyone to enjoy! I'm South American from Bogotá ColombiaI never had such an experience , I'm happy for you guys and thank you for visiting South America! You guys are awesome!
thanks for the video. I recommend visiting Peru my favorite country in South America! Peru is great for hiking. The Andes have a major cultural importance and that feels pretty powerful as well. Tons of accessible trails, even beginner mountain climbing is possible in the region and of course extended overnight hiking guided or on your own are abundant.
I'm about to go to South America and this is the best vlog i've found about SA. I had no idea what to do and where to go but thanks to this video I finally can plan my 5 months trip. I'm getting more and more excited about that continent. Thanks, guys, for sharing it with us. Now I gotta watch the separate videos of each country in SA and I'm sure I'll find it from you vlog. Btw, hi from the cold Kazakhstan :)
I just found your channel! Absolutely love the way you two put these videos together and your very relatable and enthusiastic passion for travel and the adventures you take us on. Thanks for sharing!
The Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls is just a corridor. The Argentine side (80% of the waterfalls, including the Devil's Throat) is what most tourists prefer.
Flying to Buenos Aries on the 23rd of August. Bit overwhelmed where to start and what to do, I want to go to Patagonia but worried August/September may not be the best time of year for it. Thinking of just not planning and just going with the flow but not sure how smart that is.
I can't help but notice that there is an unusual number of destinations from Ecuador, which is amazing given how small it is compared to other countries in South America.
Love your content guys! Been watching your videos for quite a while now. Currently traveling in thailand and making my own videos atm! But ill be traveling to South america in december. Thanks for the inspiration
Hi Mark and Asya was just watching this video it was amazing to see all the amazing things you guys did. I was impressed by Mount Fitz Roy it looked so beautiful I would like to go there some day. Use look like a lovely couple and really look like you enjoy travelling together. Happy travels and stay safe. 👍🤗
@user-rp9rb5bl8j You need to check other UA-camrs, butbit is expensive. It's well worth it. Remember, most things have to be flown in. You might have to wait to truely enjoy it.
Amazing video🎉. Do you plan to make a video about how much it costs to travel South America for 5 months? Or if you could just mention that in a comment, would highly appreciate.
You were in Buenos Aires for One of the most historical events of the country. I (Argentine) celebrated with my Argentine community in Phoenix, Arizona
I think the Route of the Seven Lakes in Argentina (Bariloche, Villa La Angostura, San Martín de los Andes) should be number one. Ushuaia and Salta also deserved to be in the list.
I do feel a bit sad that Suriname is not on the list, especially the inland of the country. Nevertheless this was a very beautiful and inspiring video! Amazing job guys!!! ❤
Hi have really loved your videos and have been a great guide on what to do. I am planning a five week trip this January what route would you recommend? Where to fly from Dublin to which city to start and then onward? What would be the top things to do in five weeks? Should I book internal flights ahead or when we get there? Should we book Air B nB in advance or as we go? The Amazon lodge is that a booking we need to do several months out? Many thanks and happy onwards traveling?
Hi Deirdre! That’s great to hear 😊 We flew from Dublin-Paris-Rio & started our trip from there. It worked out perfectly for us so we’d definitely recommend that 😊 In terms of what to do in 5 weeks… We loved Patagonia but you’d probably need 2 weeks down there. You could then fly to Santiago & make your way to the Atacama desert, then into Bolivia and Peru (we didn’t make it to Peru as we said), but I’m sure you could fly home from Lima 👍🏻 There are tons of ways to do it but that would be one way of seeing quite a lot of our favourites in 5 weeks. We booked internal flights within South America a few weeks in advance and we were booking Air B&Bs as we went along, maybe 3/4 days or 1 week in advance 👍🏻 Maybe try booking special places like the Amazon lodge a bit further in advance to make sure there is availability 😊 Hope this helps & enjoy your trip!
Hello both, thank you for your great content an for finally revealing Asya's nationality. I wondered for many movies. Sorry Mark, but your accent gives yours away in a second. Can I ask you for a recommendation from where to attack the Ibera Wetlands? The placed you stayed looked quite nice
Wow 💕💓💕 First - welcome home to wet-summer-Ireland!! Second...I plan to visit it all...from Ecuador where I'll be retiering to in just over 2 years....hopefully with a start of, getting these miners thrown far away from there .. The Galapagos, the Andes mountains, the Amazonas and "just" Ecuador, will take some months to visit...I just can't wait and, see in your faces the longing for more as well... Thanks millions for sharing!!
Hey guys, we love your video and are planning a trip to South America currently. What months did you visit there? Did you like Patagonia or Atacama best, and why, and how many days did you spend in each?
Thanks! We started in Rio in November and finished in Mexico in June. We really can’t choose between Patagonia and the Atacama as they offer different experiences and would definitely suggest doing both! We spend around 10 days in Patagonia and 3 days in the Atacama. How much should do you recommend others budget to a similar length trip to South America. Considering taking a career break to go to South America for 4 months but I need to know whether it will be feasible.
Hi both thanks for the great content, it is much appreciated. Just a question on Patagonia - which month did you go in? I am planning to go in mid-late April, would this be ill advised? Just trying to gauge the general weather around that time.

Hi Alexander! Well, if it helps, we started in Rio and made our way down to Patagonia & then headed up through Chile, Bolivia, had to skip Peru, Ecuador and then Colombia… We think it was an efficient route! Thanks for your comment ☺️
FYI to travelers. What I've learned after going to 24 countries is this. If its on youtube, it's not a hidden gem 😂. The best you can do is try to get there before everyone else or in the low season. You are welcome.
A video of South America without Peru... ummm Peru is the cultural mother of South America, half of the continent was part of the great Inca Empire, the landscapes, ruins and natural wonders are at the top of everyone's wish list, the rainbow mountains, the boiling river , Sierra del Divisor, Laguna Peron, unique places in the world.
