You have to buy 3rd tier ac tickets, some trains are preferable than others because of level of comfort it provides. Any rajdhani express, satabdi express, vande bharat in routes are better than others!
@parthajitjana2222 Yeah, we bought 3rd tier AC tickets and also Chair Carriage (CC) tickets after learning the lesson from our first trip! Thanks for the advice 😊
Crazy but you two are experienced and organised. I was neither when i spent 6 weeks there in 1983 with $300 spending money, about half of which i got ripped off for. Even back then, that was a pittance. Though it was tough, thereafter i always remembered all my problems were first world ones. It was therefore an experience I never regret..
Yeah great point about them being “first world problems” - completely agree, it’s a good way of looking at things! Thanks for sharing your experience Sean 😊
Very interesting and informative, one day i'll get to visit India, but will be limited time away from work to see the highlights definitely watching the rest of the series and saving for future reference😁

I understand that you want to be positive and build a following, but please, be honest. Delhi is a total sh1thole. Nobody I met traveliing in India - nobody - liked it, but they just wanted to get out ASAP. If I'd watched honest guides rather than sugarcoated ones then I might have avoided this.
Wow, imagine leaving a comment complaining about two people being positive and having a good time 😅 Go spread your negativity elsewhere please, we’ll be fine here without you 😊
You can have your opinion of a city, but it would be better based on a little more than a couple of UA-cam videos, or poorly informed travellers. As a Delhiite of 40 plus years , I'll be the first to admit that there are shit hole areas, the city is aggressive, and unfortunately has become a bit of scammer central. However to believe that's all that Delhi is the outcome of laziness. There is so much to do in Delhi, so much to see, but most UA-camrs love the stereotype. A lot of foreign travelers end up living in the saddest parts of town as they want to be on a shoe string budget, or in wierd places even in slightly better parts of town. You get what you pay for. India may be cheaper than Europe and US, and even other parts of the world, but to get good accomodation in a city of 35 million is not going to be cheap. One of the easiest hacks in India is too see hotels/ accomodation places that are accredited by the concerned state tourist department. Yet I find no such information being shared by UA-camrs visiting India. Probably because they themselves don't know. Regarding the city's antiquity, the fact that most people think that Old Delhi is the oldest part of Delhi is hilarious, as it is factually incorrect. Old Delhi was the last of the 7 cities. It may be noted that these 7 cities also constitute only medieval to early modern history of Delhi starting from 7th century AD, coming to about early 1700s. Construction of Old Delhi was completed around 1648 which is hardly old given India's history. To simply walk around without context is one of the worst things that you can do in Delhi, and Indian cities in general. Modern India lives jn continuation of its past, so past and present live and coexist side by side. Do a little research and spend some money ( yes, foreigners can be very stingy in India) on doing heritage walks in different parts of Delhi, and other cities. There are many good organisation's that do such walks in Delhi on weekends during winters and can customise your itienary. You might actually get history, art and context. It's hilarious that none of those who you might follow even for honest opinions on UA-cam might have made it to the Old Fort , where excavations have revealed pottery ware dating back to 1500-1000 BCE!!! It is also believed to be the fabled city of Indraprastha mentioned in the Hindu epic Mahbharat. The Fort also has construction layers dating to various subsequent centuries, including the medieval era. To clarify, Old Fort is not in Old Delhi, but in todays New Delhi. I have seen probably or one or two UA-camrs even being aware of these fact. No one goes to the museums, if they even know they exist. To confidently state that the capital city of one of the oldest continous civilizarions on earth is nothing but chaos and a shithole, then believe me, you are the one coming of as a total ignoramus. Note: I apologize for what may seem an aggressive tone, and i hope that my comment will be taken in the right spirit, but believe me when I say most Delhites and Indians are tired of UA-camrs perpetuating only stereotypes of cows, chaos, rubbish, slums and Taj Mahal ( all of which is true and we accept as part of India), without investing basic resources in terms of time and money to properly show case even the parts of India they visit, and use India as clickbait for views. Sure it's your time and money and if you want to use it to only see chaos be our guest, but kindly do not perpetuate the fallacy that this alone is the real India, when you haven't even scratched the surface of what India offers.
@@us8687 Obviously a very well balanced and thought-out comment, but I don’t really understand why you felt the need to consistently throw subtle digs at us. I certainly don’t watch UA-cam videos about my home country and get my knickers in a twist about where they DIDN’T visit. Sure, if I have a recommendation for them on their next visit I’ll let them know - It would certainly be done in a polite way, however. Of course a lot of tourists won’t have the opportunity, time, financial resources or knowledge to explore each and every corner of a city/country. And the way you disregarded the pollution and litter as just being “part of India” genuinely baffles me. How can those things not come into consideration when coming to your conclusion about whether you enjoyed visiting a certain country or not? Interesting indeed. I too apologise if my tone is harsh, just pushing back against some observations you made. Take care 😊
@SomethingToRemember Whoops, there was an obvious mix-up. My bad. My comment was not for you, but for the person calling themselves Yu Tyuberful. I couldn't see any dishonesty in either of you, much less sugar coating. Your honesty , genuine surprise, and enthusiasm were rather fun to watch, though that train ride was a bit ill-advised!! As other comments have already suggested, before traveling by train, please look at the train category and class of travel, as that will make all the difference. Am not sure where I took a dig at you, but like I said, my original post was not meant for you, and most certainly wouldn't want to put a dampner on your travels. Keep smiling, have fun, and kudos to your spirit!!
