Chaos emperor dragon envoy the end Was pree erata semi nomi Is it with the ersta now Nomi only?
This is one of my favorite sets so far. I'm buying a few just to play with friends or family unless the format picks back up. I actually enjoy the playstyle. It is a real shame they may stop printing speed duel products. I was really hoping to see more cards released in the format. Not to mention, the secret rares and prismatic secret rares are actually really nice. Konami should advertise it more and the product may move better. I have never seen a speed duel ad personally.
The optimist in me feels like maybe, just *maybe* Konami was waiting on Go Rush to finish (which I believe it will a couple months or so from this comment) to introduce all the new mechanics in a natural manner but also to allow for power creep. When you compare Rush Duel now to the main card game five years into its life, the power creep has been INSANE. Take Yggdrago for example. The original Yggdrago itself is just dead cards taking up spots in your hand unless you're lucky and manage to get all three. The card that introduced Maximum as a mechanic has been reimagined into a Fusion-based deck. In a way, that places it on more equal footing to the main game, which has had nearly 30 years to build up its power creep The pessimist in me remembers that people thought Rush would makes its way overseas when they announced the Sevens dub, and that came and went without so much as a single card being localized Time will tell
I would like rush duels the only issue for me tho is basicly the time to learn complex mechanics if they keep it simple then i would get into it
If you know regular YGO, you'll have almost no problem learning the mechanics of Rush. You just need to unlearn everything you know about *strategy* (mainly, concepts like card advantage, or what to play and when, etc.) It's the same foundation but in practice it's a very different game
I loved MR4, the only problem was that nobody else wanted to play anymore.
I really want Rush Duel to come to the US, but I think COVID, and the widening gap of releases is keeping Konami from giving it to us. The game is so far ahead in Japan that the US would have to do pack releases monthly or bi-monthly (like they did in the TCG) in order to catch up with the current format.
Mane hell no they don’t even have the anime established yet
There’s the original intro first anime of rush duel dubbed called Yugioh sevens and just dubbed go rush on UA-cam
I want Rush Duel. Also I want Speed Duel but by their own effect and artwork, not just convert OCT/TCG to Speed Duel 😌
I loved the original MR4! I’m grimly reminded of how good it was every time I stare at a full board of Synchro omni-negates. I’m not too upset that they revised it. The thing that bothers me is the card design. Individual cards have 3 effects with no downsides, and the game often devolves into a coin toss with cards attached. Even the broken Links are always Konami straight up not thinking when designing a card. Firewall should’ve been a hard once per turn from the get go.
Please stop with the reboots... Just remaster it for new resolutions. No need for reboots.
They didn’t try to “fix the game” though. They just slapped a band aid on it. “Fixing” the game, would require actual proper balancing, removing some cards, strengthening some other cards and overhauling some other cards. For example, if one were to want to get rid of synchros, it would be advisable to rework the fan favorite synchros into other types of cards, that wouldn’t break the game.
Master Rule 4 was a poor band aid solution that attempted to treat the symptoms of the game. Duel Links had tons of players actually enjoying playing any-Gi-Oh! back in the day, but these days Duel Links is as cancerous as Master Duels. The game cannot be fixed. It needs a rewind and better balancing. KoMONEY doesn’t necessarily have to throw out fan favorite cards, like Stardust Dragon or Whatever the f**k Vrains had. They could adapt those cards and re-release them as normal/effect cards. Also archetypes are a great idea, but they should not take an entire deck, so that people have space for staples and generally useful cards. And archetypes are great, but they should be reigned in. Having Black Dragon’s Chick, Red-Eyes Baby Dragon or Black Stone of Legend summon a Red-Eyes Black Dragon is one thing, but there should not be such a thing as one card combos. Anyway, I can explain my heart out, but koMONEY already demonstrated that they’re incompetent when they mismanaged Duel Links. They were practically given a second chance with that app, for both a new game format and a new anime, and they squandered it.
The good thing is, they bringing back the OG.. they can just start people off at Edison, than bring them up to date with the modern style. Don’t think I would ever play modern style
"I wish there were an Interdimensional Tournament where all the famous characters could battle using modern decks. It would be great to also include other characters who play relevant meta decks, like Zoodiac, Kashtira, Tearlaments, and Sky Striker
Link summons were the cancer that killed the game
The lore-related stuff sounds way more interesting than a Reboot. I mean, I don't even need a reboot since I can always watch the original whenever I feel like it.
The real question is... when are we getting Rush Duel over to the west?
I like classic yugioh and retro formats, but I also the modern game. The game is not too complicated for me. I would like to see the animators embrace the challenges. However, I’d be okay with yugioh 2 like a reboot that way as long as the game isn’t dumbed down mechanics wise. Yugioh was always complex in many ways from the start and that’s part of the appeal.
Awesome video👍🔥 i agree with your point about the DM reboot.
I'm curious why can't they do an full speed duel anime series
Just remove Link altogether get back to master rule 3. Reintroduce pendulum summoning as the end game season by introducing normal tribute summon first in the first few episode. Then introduce other summon mechanic like a story from Fusion to Synchro to Xyz to Pendulum.
I’m a yugi boomer and I like Link summoning, I just wish zone pointing had more of a point to it, no pun intended.
first I heard of the ocg manga and I laughed.
Why reboot just do continuation of story
People keep talking about the same unidimensional characters in a nonsensical universe, but maybe yugioh has enough archetypes to make lore series IMO. Think about the amounts of story they could make for duel terminal and they could constantly provide support because the anime keeps pumping out characters. Id actually love mermail and lightsworn lore, or the forbidden/solemn cards with an actual storyline that haa in depth character development. Id like those as much as id like gravekeeper lore or albaz/dogmatika or all of the visas or diabel. I think weve had enough anti gravity spiky hair characters with plot armor and friendship powers.
The funny part is that Rush Duel can end up being as complicated as Master Duel. There is no guarantee that things will be easy.
It's extremely ironic that Yugioh has massive casual appeal but is extremely difficult to get into. And don't give me "b-b-but my cousin's girlfriend's boyfriend got into by himself just fine". Your average person off the street is gonna look at the 30 minute solitaire combos and literally do anything else with their life.
I rarely comment. I’d just like to say I came back to master duel & duel links just recently. I still have my ygh cards from 20 ish years ago. Was looking through a book and decided to give the game a try for old times sake. It was unrecognizable. I mean sure the cards were all the same, but the game cadence is entirely different. I genuinely wanted to stop playing within two hours. I didn’t. I kept at it and I tried to get a grip, but I’ve had to sit though literally 5minute long chain combos on their first turn. Stuff’s nuts. Yubel for example. I faced someone with a meta deck and was blown away with the absurdity going on. + he ended up with a rather mediocre final setup, I mean 2800 and a few others. Turns out the real punch was in all his disruptions. As soon as my turn came, I found all of my efforts fizzled, as if I were facing against a magic the gathering counter deck lmao. Noped everything. I then understood the new game. Entirely pre-emptive, chain combos, turn one rotations, find repeatable loops, study each set so you can get ahead of the masses & try to react to the updates. Feels nothing like the spirit of YGH. So I feel like a revival would need to focus on the zeitgeist of the players so to speak. Also I think the anime should take more of a front seat, rather than a supportive role. They struck something with that series, whether they intended to or not. If they leaned more into the lore and allowed that to guide the future of the game, I feel like it’s do better. There’s be resistance to these type of changes propagating in the first place. Rules like 5 special summons per turn limit seems like a reasonable way to change the game. But as you mentioned once they disrupt these chains the entire meta falls and the one industry will suffer as the prices drop for these sets and builds. I see the bigger picture, and I think you really do have a good grasp on things. Thanks for the video brotha, well done. I’m hoping for a revival
They tried rebooting the game a lot. Speed Duels. Which went basically under the radar. They're doing RUSH duels. Which aren't coming to America physically it seems. Anyway. Just to Season 0 in HD and English and without changing things because the FCC are wussies.
and KEEP MOST of the AMERICAN dub actors/actress in them sure 4kidstv isn't around ANYMORE in the USA but how HARD could it really be for Toonami/Cartoon network to dub it themselves via a VIZ media/funimation Dub that is.
The problem of Master Rule 4 was how it was just a secret rotation that didn't really deal with any of the problems the game had created for itself. If they'd done a proper reboot and where honest with people it would work. Master-Rule 4 basically just devalued basically 90% of all playable cards at that point, which wouldn't happen if they just introduce the "Legacy-format" where everything is like how it has always been. Just like how other TCGs like Magic, Pokemon, Vanguard etc. while focusing on the new Standard with a new show. New people could easily get into this, and then can see what the game else has to offer with their older cards. tldr.: KOnami should've just gone forward and just make Rush their new standard format and let OG YGO become its extended/legacy format.
I am a tcg player and I quit at the start of 4 till 5 came out
Focusing on stuff like DM or BE would cut down on stuff alot. BE is Summon 1 card, play 1 card, search a card summon Blue Eyes DM is just play 1 card, get DM. Play other to get protection It is what makes the card design so good. They are about as complex as DM strats always were if played pure. But this would as you say restrict them to legacy support and purposefully not have them show off the long combos it can do.
Do you know how you know Vrains was bad? The studio that had been animating the show for 20 years is no longer animating Yu-Gi-Oh as a result of it. It was that much of a mess.
Just end the game and franchise, it's horrifically boring and you have to do so much homework to just play the game With the end of the game, players can focus on what's there instead of bracing for monthly changes that destroys their wallet Games way past it's time
The biggest problem I believe the game faces is all the generations that Yu-Gi-Oh has in its player base. (DM, GX, 5Ds fans etc) I think the simplest solution is creating generations within the game. Having sets supporting these generations. That way fans of those generations can stay within those mechanics or mix them as they please. This way This way DM and GX players can come back and stay in their generation. You could also pair up 5Ds with Zexal, Arc V with Vrains, etc. By doing so power creep and speed is paired up in more advanced gameplay generations. This way the game is simplified in a Master Rule Generational setting and Konami doing this opens them up to making a ton more money from lapsed players.
DM GX 5D are all the same generation…
If this game could do something like detective pikachu that would b dope
What do you mean?
@ a life action with a new character who is based on a world built thru yugioh currency
@Toastycloud650 Life Action wouldn't fix anything. Also it would cost a lot to animate every single card and not to mention duels would be so short to happen in a movie.
I think the right direction for them is lore anime
I don’t think that’s accurate. Yugioh OCG isn’t more casual focused as you think. Now understand that my information comes from people who’ve actually played in the OCG and actually judged it as well. Japan, is a very competition heavy country. They take competition very seriously over there. So saying that the country is more casual focused in the OCG is not entirely true. Now there are probably more casual players in Japan than there are in the US. But saying that the OCG is more casual focused than competitively focused is just not true at all.
ok poor word choice for me on that fair enough I wasn't trying to say the competitive scene doesn't exist they certainly do, but going off what I read from my sources and what was told to me I just believed that MR4 pissed off the casual base of Japan leading to the events that happened. Players loved re-creating anime decks and such but MR4 took a lot of that away which is what led to many retirements, that's why I said it like that again poor word choice for me I should've worded it by saying they have a more casual player base than the west
@@darkemperorj356 actually there are a lot of players in the west who do prefer casually here too. In fact, I see a lot of of American players re-creating the anime decks as well. There’s even a community that does this on various social media. Unfortunately, they get very toxic with people who play with very powerful cards.
@ yeah that is a sad thing that happens in the west
@@darkemperorj356That’s why we have communities on Discord with more positive influences.
@@Shadowrulzalways that's nice to hear
Rush Duels isn’t as popular as ya’ll think. Keep in mind, the OCG makes far more sales and is far more popular than Rush Duels could ever be. I doubt Konami is gonna make another Rush Duels anime. Fans are demanding an OCG focused anime. Only time will tell. Plus remember, the mainstream Yugioh is aimed at a teen audience in Japan. Because the OCG is targeted at ages 12+ as stated on every pack and set. The Rush Duels game was Konami’s way to bring young kids into the game. Similar to how Bushiroad did with Card Buddy Fight as to Vanguard. Or WOC did with Duel Masters for MTG. There is a higher explanation of the anime being Duel Monsters lore focused and I think that’s a much better idea. It’s new and creative.
Rush is literally the 8th-selling card game in Japan, where is this "it isn't as popular as we think" coming from, where's your source for this? Also, just because OCG makes more money than rush doesn't mean it's a failure by that same logic TCG should've never kept supporting Speed Duels despite the boom it got from the Battle City box. If Rush remained at the bottom 20 or something then yeah it's a failure but the sales kept going up month after month with just September being the exclusion because nothing was released then we have actual data showing that it's doing well where the hell is your evidence saying otherwise.
@@darkemperorj356It’s 9th. You just posted it and it says 9th. Not 8th. Also that’s far below the OCG. Which proves my point. My sources come from people who have actually sold OCG cards in Japan as they also sold Rush duels cards and according to them rush duels doesn’t sell nearly as well. Not to mention, they also judged at OCG events. I only believe the words of people who actually have experienced it themselves. And actually work in the industry. The sales Paul may say it’s the ninth selling card game, but that’s far below than what it originally was. Which says a lot. It’s slowly declining.
@@Shadowrulzalways literally trust me bro source just because your friends might be having bad sales doesn’t mean it declining stop spreading misinformation based on anecdotal evidence also just because it fell to 9th now doesn’t mean it’s going to fail it can change and might go up. I have to ask do yourself hate rush cause I’ve seen u spread this info b4
@@janithernest3929I am indifferent to Rush Duels, if that makes any sense. I rather play OCG/TCG. But that’s just preference.
@@Shadowrulzalways understandable
Excellent points, a dm remake is a bad idea and i am glad to see a dm reboot video that isn’t just the creator yapping about their fanfic ideas where classic characters play some gimped version of the modern game for the sake of muh nostalgia and muh pet deck ignoring the creators original story
You wouldn’t even be playing gimped per se. The difficulty is the anime decks that are easy and simple aren’t on the same level as practically everything else. So you’d have a DM player set up their board in a minute only to wait 10 for the other player to do something.
Mahtavaa.
As much as I love Yugioh, this is its inherent problem as opposed to like, Cardfight Vanguard, and in terms of Anime, Vanguard takes the cake since the whole game mechanic isn't that much overly complex. I do hope they kind of take something out of Cardfight Vanguard since they are trying only 3 monsters in rush duels
A reboot in which each character has not only an archetype, but a mechanic exclusive or most played by them, like Yugi with XYZs, Kaiba Synchro, Joey Fusions, etc. Show cards and simple combos from today's meta but keeping it understandable for new audiences.
Won’t work
@@pn2294 I guess we'll never know
@@NecromancerAdrWe do know it does not work. Today’s meta does not have simple combos. If you want simple combos you do not play meta.
@@mrbubbles6468 with that I mean maybe splitting the combo into a few turns, like not resolving the whole thing on just 1 turn but building it up until the boss monster is summoned
@@mrbubbles6468new cards? Wouldn’t you want something meta, new, and “simplified”
How about instead of a DM reboot, a DM sequel? The twist: Joey is the main character. In DSoD, he stated he wanted to become a pro duelist. The series could follow him on his journey to become a pro duelist, and throughout the series he can use boss monsters that utilize other extra deck mechanics. The mechanics could appear in alternative duel formats, which DM was known for throughout the series fillers - but that plays into "being a pro duelist" because pros can play the game in all formats. Yugi can still make appearances in the show, appearing in a tag duel where Dragoon can be played. From a narrative perspective, Joey's arc throughout the series could be juggling his desire to be a pro duelist vs the responsibility of living up to Atem's example, so you can sprinkle in villains who use card games to take over the world or whatever. I think a similar show could work for Yugi, but Yugi expressed a desire to make his own game vs continuing pro dueling, and plus the way everything wrapped up with DM and DSoD I think was a perfect conclusion to Yugi coming into his own - the story wouldn't need to be retold. The advantage to using Yugi as a side character is that Yugi can be used to explain the new mechanics being introduced into the DM world. Kaiba, having a new found respect for Yugi after DSoD, would surely get Yugi the connections into advising how to advance the duel monsters game, especially since Yugi already defeated the creator of it. But most importantly, the reason it should be Joey as the main character is because throughout DM, Joey was the knuckle head who forgot rules constantly and misplayed the most. He is a better example of a real life new yugioh player, and Joey can be the personification of the new players coming into the game, like what they tried to do with Yuma in Zexal, except it's Joey and old time fans will appreciate him far more.
First show to have negative viewers
So you mean that, they should follow pokemon? How the art more valuable then the power of card? So they make the hollow/shiny card become harder to get while powerful common card is easy to get, so people can make any deck they want.
Or maybe a series about the lore from the cards would be nice and more safer approach.
2:33 Finally someone said it Yugi and Kaiba won't make things better, all that will do is making the average Yugi boomer hate the reboot even more
Can we talk about how they seem to only care about balancing cards with requirements and downsides when it comes to my goddamn red-eyes archetype, but every other archetype gets better effects with less requirements and downsides.. it's driving me insane. I just want my red-eyes to be viable
Red eyes is in the trickstar space the simply gave you too many burn cards. Now they scared to give you good cards.
@CyrusIsnt not enough burn cards IMO for that. There's like 3 overall unless you count generics that will work with any deck
