    I don't think anyone can fix Yu-Gi-Oh. Everyone has different disagreements with where they want Yu-Gi-Oh to go

    Master Rule/Link Format was not fun for everybody involved, not the players, not the store owners, not the people who watches vrains, not for the animators and definitely not for shueisha.
    It's insane how this simple decision just mess with a lot of people.

    I loved MR4, the only problem was that nobody else wanted to play anymore.

    THANK YOU! MY GOD!
    I despise all of these half-baked “fixes” to YGO, particularly because something similar was already tried and failed. My most hated “fix” is summon limits, where its core premise is that if we were to limit the summon count per turn to a given number (usually anywhere between 2-5), Yu-Gi-Oh would magically become a better game. However, that theory is ridiculous because it would just make a combo and aggro strategies unplayable, Midrange would still be playable but most of the decks under their umbrella would be severely hindered however, control would be virtually untouched making them the dominant strategy period.
    The subject of “Link Shock” makes this idea even dumber because if 80-90 percent of all decks in this game are either nerfed or rendered unplayable then Konami will have to start going into overdrive just to support all of those decks, in some cases having to redesign the gameplan of whole archetypes. The problem is that the number of affected decks would be in the hundreds and would take them years just to cover the top 50 most played. Another problem with this process is that it will take too long for most players to want to wait, so they will likely move to other games permanently. There are so many things wrong with “summon limits” that it makes my head spin.

      Yes, lest not make the game better so people actively playing deck types that are ruining the game can have fun lol. The decks being played now is why no LSG even bothers with tournaments here. It's better to just play Modern or cEDH than support a dead game.

    Can we talk about how they seem to only care about balancing cards with requirements and downsides when it comes to my goddamn red-eyes archetype, but every other archetype gets better effects with less requirements and downsides.. it's driving me insane. I just want my red-eyes to be viable

    • @CyrusIsnt
      @CyrusIsnt Місяць тому

      Red eyes is in the trickstar space the simply gave you too many burn cards. Now they scared to give you good cards.

    • @NeCoruption
      @NeCoruption Місяць тому

      @CyrusIsnt not enough burn cards IMO for that. There's like 3 overall unless you count generics that will work with any deck

    So you mean that, they should follow pokemon? How the art more valuable then the power of card?
    So they make the hollow/shiny card become harder to get while powerful common card is easy to get, so people can make any deck they want.

  • @Hynotama
    @Hynotama Місяць тому

    They didn’t try to “fix the game” though. They just slapped a band aid on it. “Fixing” the game, would require actual proper balancing, removing some cards, strengthening some other cards and overhauling some other cards. For example, if one were to want to get rid of synchros, it would be advisable to rework the fan favorite synchros into other types of cards, that wouldn’t break the game.

    I loved the original MR4! I’m grimly reminded of how good it was every time I stare at a full board of Synchro omni-negates.
    I’m not too upset that they revised it. The thing that bothers me is the card design. Individual cards have 3 effects with no downsides, and the game often devolves into a coin toss with cards attached.
    Even the broken Links are always Konami straight up not thinking when designing a card. Firewall should’ve been a hard once per turn from the get go.

    Funnily enough i was one of the players that liked Original master rule 4, I had left the game around the ending of TOSS bcause I was tired of uninteractive long combos, came back to M4 and while the uninteractive long combo still existed but was waaaaay harder to do, when they rewrote m4 i left the game, tried master duel, left the game, i dont want to sit through a 40 minute Combo and have monsters be flavorless archetypal copypastas of each other, "this is the decks earcher" "This is the extender" "this is the secondary searcher"
    also: regarding Pendulums "you could still play whatever deck youw ant and be fine", loool, laughs in pepe and dracoslayer, one of the worst tier 0 formats ever didn't exactly let you be fine with whatever deck

      @@darkemperorj356 Duellist alliance isn't exactly a tier 0 format, it's indeed kinda self-contained but not tier 0 because there was more than 1 top tier deck and at some point there was a valid argument for every single one of the top 5 decks (Qli, BA, Nekroz, Tellarknights and Shaddolls) to be the top deck and that Meta allowed for rogue picks, hell every single one of those decks had a rogue hard counter, I should know I was playing Nekroz back then and I trembled at the sight of a Ritual Beast deck,

    I don’t think that’s accurate. Yugioh OCG isn’t more casual focused as you think. Now understand that my information comes from people who’ve actually played in the OCG and actually judged it as well. Japan, is a very competition heavy country. They take competition very seriously over there. So saying that the country is more casual focused in the OCG is not entirely true. Now there are probably more casual players in Japan than there are in the US. But saying that the OCG is more casual focused than competitively focused is just not true at all.

    • @darkemperorj356
      @darkemperorj356  Місяць тому

      ok poor word choice for me on that fair enough I wasn't trying to say the competitive scene doesn't exist they certainly do, but going off what I read from my sources and what was told to me I just believed that MR4 pissed off the casual base of Japan leading to the events that happened. Players loved re-creating anime decks and such but MR4 took a lot of that away which is what led to many retirements, that's why I said it like that again poor word choice for me I should've worded it by saying they have a more casual player base than the west

    • @Shadowrulzalways
      @Shadowrulzalways Місяць тому +1

      @@darkemperorj356 actually there are a lot of players in the west who do prefer casually here too. In fact, I see a lot of of American players re-creating the anime decks as well. • @JustinWilliams-o3j
      @JustinWilliams-o3j Місяць тому

      I mean 5 special summons per turn not normal summons I sometimes have to extra normal summon via cards like "card advance" to clinch the victory
