I think we are getting to a point where he could potentially come back. However players won't be happy having to face another annoying stun deck like Floo and Draco is arguably worse at times. Idk of it's worth unbanning.
I'd rather face Draco than Floo or Lab. Both of those decks just generate so much advantage that you lose the game if you don't kill them on turn 3. True Draco also has this idea but their cards have been powercrept so much that it doesn't matter.
I would say if someone can pull 6 boss monsters or negate monsters turn 1, master peace cannot be as op anymore. I feel he was strong during a slower era and thats why he would be fine now because things have sped up, but i might be misremembering things here.
Yes, many people are playing kaijus rn with Santa claws. Also herald of the abyss since it affect players instead of monsters. Master peace was strong at its time and now alot of decks are strong enough to deal with it.
King Magnus is the only big unaffected boss monster with quick effect removal I can think of, but that one is balanced out by how bad the deck that summons him is.
@GodzillaFreak A small differences between the two card, Magnus is unaffected while Noir is unaffected by ACTIVATED effect, 1 word make a whol differences.
can it be unbanned...as of mid 2023? probably. and he would definetely see play as a way to deal with some the boss monsters konami clearly hasnt leanred to avoid , like the link 5 that cna use an opponent's monster as a material for its summon(like for real why would you allow a kaiju effect on extra deck monster.) and it gets to negate on both turns to boot AND it must be explicity targeted with destruction. if monsters like this are legal andthis easy ot access Master Peace can exist in this gamestate aswell.
I've been ranting for over 2 years now that Dragoon is the literal power creep of Master Peace. If Dragoon's around, I don't see why Master Peace shouldn't be.
Master Peace could come back easily to one, maybe two and even three. Power creep is real! MP is too slow and the protection is kind of mid if you think about it. Most boss monsters have a flat “not effect by….” or “can not be targeted or destroyed by card effects”, etc. A 2950 ATK monster that’s only not effected by 2/3rds of cards isn’t much and doesn’t have destruction or targeting immunity is meh. Though to be far, not a lot of decks run traps so MP is effectively in the clear. Sometimes. Trap decks are very much in the past few metas. My casual deck is Endymion which has a boss who can nuke the board while gaining targeting protection and has spell and trap negotiation. You can even spam the negotiation with Selene since Endymion isn’t a hard once per turn. A deck that’s not even rough has a boss monster that can be argued as “better”. Even closer to True Draco is Dracoslayers which was considered the best pendulum deck last format and exceedingly better than Endymion. Dracoslayer has far better plays than True Draco. Running MP requires running True Draco continues spells, traps, monsters which means it’s not very splashable in today’s meta, and it’s simply not worth it to run the spells and traps and a monster that might be a brick if you don’t draw the cards to summon it. (Assuming it’s coming back to one because I don’t think Konami would immediately put it to two or unlimited.) It’s quick effect is ‘slow’ as well. Modern cards let you effectively do the same but with more advantage. Mirrorjade had a non-tragedy non-destruction removal that also nets you advantage on which monster you send. Especially with Kash being the best deck in the format MP couldn’t even get the cards in the graveyard to target and destroy. Baronne is more easily accessible and has a better effect that MP. We are heavily maining Kaijus, Lave Golem, and heavily siding Kurikara all of which are East ‘outs’. MP is more of a product of its time than an actual “this card is broken”. Truly broken cards are something like Shock Master, VFD, or Rhongomyniad. I’m so tired of hearing arguments for cards staying on the list because of “how they were back *then*” when *NOW* they aren’t good options. If any deck now had access to terraforming at three the same way MP did it even more so wouldn’t even be a competition. Tearlaments would have reached a real beyond tier zero with Terraforming at three, and Kashtira would have truly been tier zero. MP is just as much a product of its time based on the cards that hadn’t been singled out as problematic at the time. Decks now with access to cards MP had would raise those decks through the roof. The same way now cards being on the list lowers MP, but it doesn’t lower the meta decks now. Meta decks now are the power creep; they’re fine. MP has to fight against the banlist and power creep. MP changed boss design but bosses in modern Yugioh are far better and more annoying while netting more advantage.
This deck and frogs then Master Rule 4 was the reason I quit until heroes support and now I have a Dark World Deck and a Odd Eyes Deck. Horrible times for a 17 year old boy that had no money using Metalfoes and a low budget Odd Eyes 🥲
The biggest reason that Master Peace was typically not immune to spells was because they didn't want it to be immune to its own diagram.

Draco only truly gets that annoying with 3 diagram and 3 demise, if those stay at 1 not much changes.

Dragoon is broken and needs to stay ban.
@Steven Davis Not in TCG it isn't.

Because of shargna armor master is a quick pop now too but like the ignister disruption its only happening once

It got banned right after I finally got a Playset lol, still have them though, plus a 4th copy after it got banned. I'd love to play just 1 copy again

Nah it has a main phase only restriction to the spin. There's a ton more counter play because of that.
