What does being successful even mean? It is an important question to ask yourself. For many, it means you have a great career and making plenty of money in order to afford the lifestyle you want. But we often forget that being successful is not just our professional life, it is all areas of our essence combined: career, finances, family, relationship, and me-time. We are often working hard to be successful in some of these categories but forget about some other ones.
I don't think there's a precise definition of being successful. It doesn't necessarily means doing very big things or being famous. In fact everyone has their own unique definition of being successful. As long as you follow your heart and try whatever it takes to achieve your own goals throughout your life, I would say, you're already successful😉 This is just my personal opinion. But I hope this can help you define your question😊
For me, success is when one walks in the light without casting shadows upon another: being happy as a result of contentment without compromising the happiness of others. Many measure success as the fatness of one's wallet, the altitude of one's career, the thickness of one's phone book, the size of one's mental library, or the weight of medals around one's neck. Yet, success is relative. Each walks a path nobody else can tread, and thus nobody else can guide. Our measure of success is our own evaluation of our life, for only at the end of the journey can one ascertain one's trail.
Very true! Some people may try to climb the social ladder that they forget about leading successful family lives or relationships. I think I'm still working on being successful in each category. :)

Whenever my grandfather died, it broke my heart, but it showed me that I need to get closer with the family I still have with me. I hope you are doing okay today.
Follow your dreams, ignore money. I was more broke than I'd ever been when things finally worked out for me. And dont stop, once you get that first breakthrough you're not done, you have to maintain it.

I’m caring for both of my elderly parents on my own and I’m already 49 years of age. Being also male, this is by no means is a success story in terms of today’s society. But, at least most of the times, it makes me feel happy and I realize that I’m growing spiritually by doing something, which isn’t socially looked up to.

1) This is definitely me! Music is my thing, but I need a way to perform more than just once a year during summers. 2) Can't deny a good challenge. 3) Yeah, I suppose this fits. 4) I do what I can to look out for others, but don't have the best people skills. 5) Getting better at what I do is always for myself. I want to be a gaming live streamer, Graphic designer, painter and coder all together. School right now is doing nothing to help me and only makes me bored. I plan on owning a business in the future that involves creativity and fun. I will fail many times and go down but I’ll get back up. 😃

"Success isn't everything", I absolutely agree with that, one time, when I was in 9th grade, my main purpose was being recognized for my grades, and I did it, I studied a lot during that year and when the school year finally ended and I was recognized for have the second place for my grades, I realized that it was just a moment. That year was a crap, because even when I got the success that I wanted, I was really bad emotionally (for some problems that I was having), and I had the hope that that success would make me feel better, but it was just a moment, then, I felt the same emptyness as always.

What kind of musician do you want to be? Orchestral? Gig/session musician? Band? It's quite easy to get someone who can tell you if you know what you ought to know, but you'll realize that there are so many things to learn, so many possibilities and avenues of growth. While it's nice to have a certificate and/or degree, the reality is that our musical skills is learned not just through school, but also life experiences. Nothing we learn is legit. Rather ask yourself, "How well do I know this? How easy can I apply this?" If you still feel like a fraud, seek experiences. Depending on who you are, find gigs! Play with friends! Busk on the streets! Teach others how to play! In any case, whether you meet your expectations or not, I'd say you're a musician. Have fun!

When i meet someone at the first time at my university, i always ask their score, if they have lower score compared with mine, i think they are lazy and i'm the best. But if their scores are better than mine, i try to find something else which i can do better than them. Because of that, i always don't respect people who don't have good scores and hate people who are brilliant. One day I realize i don't have any true friend, i always fear that they do something better than me, they can answer hard questions but i don't,etc. It's depression.. I saw that clearly i'm bad guy but i couldn't stop it. I couldn't focus on working so i waste hours and hours doing nothing, i stucked. But then, i realized and told myself again and again, competition is meaningless, now i see people around me, everyone is good, i always can learn something from them and i just focus on what i want to do and try my best for it. Thereafter, my life is extremely better, i have more friends and even my skills is much better compared that in the past.

I relate to all of these! :D This is exactly the video I needed right now. I often get scared that I'll never get anywhere in life. I have ADHD and fail at the majority of things I try out, I have overprotective parents who feel the need to shield me from everything and do everything for me, and I've been poor my whole life, and can't afford nice equipment for what I want to do. But I think if I try hard enough, I can do it. I love drawing, and even though all I have is a Bic pen, 10 colored pencils, and a notebook with lined paper meant for writing on, I've drawn some things I'm pretty proud of. But the one thing I want to do with my life more than anything else is to be a director. Movies are one of my biggest passions in my life, and I'm willing to work really hard to reach my goal. I really hope things'll work out. There's a long history in my family of people not being able to achieve their goals, and I've got a lot going against me. I'm hopeful, though. It might be really hard and take a really long time, but I'm going to try my hardest. Right now, I'm saving up as much money as I can, so eventually I can get myself I good camera and start filming things.

Anyone ever feel unmotivated even when you know what you want and know everything about how to become motivated and still procrastinate? I figured it out that if I just get to work, I will be motivated eventually. I used to listen to Napoleon Hill and many other audios thousands of times when I'm depressed or unmotivated but I still just couldn't get up and start working. But once when I was asked to do something that my fam wanted me to do, I found motivation in there. The mind is tricky. You got to put it to work or it won't bother.

I check all of these, I wanted to become programmer since 5 years old when my father told me about concept of programming and what you can do with it (anything and everything yeah), I immediately knew - this is what I will be doing whole my life. A bit later I've decided to go to game development specifically, today at 15 years old I'm fluent in English (I'm Russian) and currently studying software and game development, planning to go freelance next year and attend a full-time job at 18, and I want to move out to Canada after 18, I hope I will make it this fast. All my motivation and encouragement goes from... well, just my character and who I am myself, I am dedicated, I absolutely love programming, and I never ever give up, I have a goal and I won't stop until I reach it, though I like Elon Musk, we share the same mindset. I'll check on y'all 10 years later.

I started with nothing. At first, I wanted to be an art teacher. Then I wanted to be a scientist either in volcanology, geology, or archeology. Then I wanted to be a writer, then a filmmaker, until I stuck with freelance art. Don't say that you're just gonna be at the bottom. That will become your mindset, then a habit, then a lifestyle, which will turn to reality. It took me so many years to get to where I am now and I'm pretty happy. You're not a failure. It's completely normal to be confused about which path you want to take in life and to be exhausted by the idea of all the work it might take to get somewhere. A lot of people go through that; you're definitely not alone. Even your interest in video games can be turned into a career! It's all about trying out things you love to do and finding which ones don't feel like work to you.
Just work on 1 thing...be the best version of yourself when it comes to giving love and receiving it. That is the source all have forgotten to train at...you will understand later....when you do what i say otherwise you won't understand at all...Don't do it for others...but for yourself...because its YOU who lives every sec and breath every sec till the day you die...SO invest in thyself!

If you try to change yourself to get girls to like you, after a while you won't even like you. You'll be so lost in a created Persona, you won't know yourself anymore and then the activities that you love to do and participate in will be gone and you'll be just like 99% of the people out there, fake, unreal and hopeless. However, if you just continue to be yourself 99.9% of the girls you meet won't like you. When you meet that one girl, she'll be the one girl that you'll still love when you're 99 years old. I’m caring for both of my elderly parents on my own and I’m already 49 years of age. Being also male, this is by no means is a success story in terms of today’s society. But, at least most of the times, it makes me feel happy and I realize that I’m growing spiritually by doing something, which isn’t socially looked up to.

"Success isn't everything", I absolutely agree with that, one time, when I was in 9th grade, my main purpose was being recognized for my grades, and I did it, I studied a lot during that year and when the school year finally ended and I was recognized for have the second place for my grades, I realized that it was just a moment. That year was a crap, because even when I got the success that I wanted, I was really bad emotionally (for some problems that I was having), and I had the hope that that success would make me feel better, but it was just a moment, then, I felt the same emptyness as always.

I really, really love music. I've always known I wanted to make it my job cuz I can't imagine myself anywhere else, but I'm mostly a self-learner and I don't feel like I'm legit of anything that I've learned. I feel like some professional should confirm that I can actually play before even calling myself a musician..

What kind of musician do you want to be? Orchestral? Gig/session musician? Band? It's quite easy to get someone who can tell you if you know what you ought to know, but you'll realize that there are so many things to learn, so many possibilities and avenues of growth. While it's nice to have a certificate and/or degree, the reality is that our musical skills is learned not just through school, but also life experiences. Nothing we learn is legit. Rather ask yourself, "How well do I know this? How easy can I apply this?"
If you still feel like a fraud, seek experiences. Depending on who you are, find gigs! Play with friends! Busk on the streets! Teach others how to play! In any case, whether you meet your expectations or not, I'd say you're a musician. Have fun!

When i meet someone at the first time at my university, i always ask their score, if they have lower score compared with mine, i think they are lazy and i'm the best. But if their scores are better than mine, i try to find something else which i can do better than them. Because of that, i always don't respect people who don't have good scores and hate people who are brilliant. One day I realize i don't have any true friend, i always fear that they do something better than me, they can answer hard questions but i don't,etc. It's depression.. I saw that clearly i'm bad guy but i couldn't stop it. I couldn't focus on working so i waste hours and hours doing nothing, i stucked. But then, i realized and told myself again and again, competition is meaningless, now i see people around me, everyone is good, i always can learn something from them and i just focus on what i want to do and try my best for it. After i spend days and days for the things i love but the result is not good as others, that's ok, because i tried my best. Thereafter, my life is extremely better, i have more friends and even my skills is much better compared that in the past.
"Work and improve to become better than yourself, not to become better than everyone." And that is a motto I made on my own and has helped me immensely to work hard and reach heights while still keeping myself grounded by helping and being helped by my friends, not to make a silent competition with them.

I often get scared that I'll never get anywhere in life. I have ADHD and fail at the majority of things I try out, I have overprotective parents who feel the need to shield me from everything and do everything for me, and I've been poor my whole life, and can't afford nice equipment for what I want to do. But I think if I try hard enough, I can do it. I love drawing, and even though all I have is a Bic pen, 10 colored pencils, and a notebook with lined paper meant for writing on, I've drawn some things I'm pretty proud of.
But the one thing I want to do with my life more than anything else is to be a director. Movies are one of my biggest passions in my life, and I'm willing to work really hard to reach my goal.
I really hope things'll work out. There's a long history in my family of people not being able to achieve their goals, and I've got a lot going against me. I'm hopeful, though. It might be really hard and take a really long time, but I'm going to try my hardest. Right now, I'm saving up as much money as I can, so eventually I can get myself I good camera and start filming things.
Aww, your story is such an inspiration! I truly believe with your amazing attitude for life in the midst of many obstacles, you'll be able to go very far in life. Some people simply give up in the face of obstacles, but you have a strong sense of motivation and know that hard work sends people places. And in that way, you're very correct!

I figured it out that if I just get to work, I will be motivated eventually.

I check all of these, I wanted to become programmer since 5 years old when my father told me about concept of programming and what you can do with it (anything and everything yeah), I immediately knew - this is what I will be doing whole my life. A bit later I've decided to go to game development specifically, today at 15 years old I'm fluent in English (I'm Russian) and currently studying software and game development, planning to go freelance next year and attend a full-time job at 18, and I want to move out to Canada after 18, I hope I will make it this fast. All my motivation and encouragement goes from... well, just my character and who I am myself, I am dedicated, I absolutely love programming, and I never ever give up, I have a goal and I won't stop until I reach it, though I like Elon Musk, we share the same mindset. I'll check on y'all 10 years later.

I'm a failure then. I don't know what I want, today I want to be a musician, yesterday I wanted to be an artist and sometimes I don't want to be anything. I don't have any teammates, I'm just a friend of some people on Social Media and that class clown from school. I don't focus on my achievements, but I also don't want myself to get better, I just want to live a comfortable life. I won't have much money in my future, I will be a homeless drug addict. I don't believe in dream jobs. Instead, I believe I am hopeless!

I started with nothing. At first, I wanted to be an art teacher. Then I wanted to be a scientist either in volcanology, geology, or archeology. Then I wanted to be a writer, then a filmmaker, until I stuck with freelance art. Don't say that you're just gonna be at the bottom. That will become your mindset, then a habit, then a lifestyle, which will turn to reality.
It took me so many years to get to where I am now and I'm pretty happy. Just do what you love and improve on doing what you love just because you love doing it. Chase excellence and success will follow.
Nobody ever is a failure until they fully claim they are.
You're not a failure. It's completely normal to be confused about which path you want to take in life and to be exhausted by the idea of all the work it might take to get somewhere. A lot of people go through that; you're definitely not alone. Even your interest in video games can be turned into a career! It's all about trying out things you love to do and finding which ones don't feel like work to you.
Just work on 1 thing...be the best version of yourself when it comes to giving love and receiving it.
That is the source all have forgotten to train at...you will understand later....when you do what i say otherwise you won't understand at all...Don't do it for others...but for yourself...because its YOU who lives every sec and breath every sec till the day you die...SO invest in thyself!

If you try to change yourself to get girls to like you, after a while you won't even like you. You'll be so lost in a created Persona, you won't know yourself anymore and then the activities that you love to do and participate in will be gone and you'll be just like 99% of the people out there, fake, unreal and hopeless. However, if you just continue to be yourself 99.9% of the girls you meet won't like you. When you meet that one girl, she'll be the one girl that you'll still love when you're 99 years old. Enjoy your childhood, enjoy being yourself, enjoy the activities you participate, in enjoy your friends and family, when you enjoy yourself and your life then everything will fall into its Perfect Fit, including girls.

I want to be a singer...I danced for 7 years and now I start with singing lessons I serached myself about it and asked my parents and they said yes. I also look forward to post covers one day and I hope I can do it.:) I love making people happy with music, be an inspiration, show them things, knowing they are not alone.💜I’m an anxious person but I still risk it and I will never give up til I die, success comes not over night
