    A note about eye contact: People with ADHD, such as myself, MAY sometimes find it difficult to focus on what your saying if we are making eye contact rather than looking elsewhere or looking around. This is not true for everyone with ADHD, however it is true for some, so I just wanted to let you all know that, just so you know there are other causes for lack of eye contact.

    • @maritabotha
      @maritabotha 4 роки тому +16

      Yes. I also find that my Aspergers friend doesn’t make eye contact, yet is fully engaged in the conversation. I found this uncomfortable, but once my friend was diagnosed, it made perfect sense.

      I have ADHD and I struggle with knowing how much eye contact is too much. It feels weird after a few words and I need to look away, but you’re right, it can definitely be easier to focus when not directly looking at the person talking to you.
      I do the same thing when finding veins on patients in the hospital. I rarely look at their arms and hands until I clean them and actually go to stick. My fingers feel the veins easier when I’m not watching them. Lmao

      I came here to say that this works only in neuro typical people, with people ADHD and people in the autistic spectrum you might confuse the lack of eye contact with lack of interest. I’ve learned to mostly mask this, but I’d rather not look people in the eye, so actually I have less eye contact with people I’m more comfortable with and I mask it so well that people I just met no longer notice this

      I think this is very important to say. It may be difficult to make eye contact for people with ADHD and/or people on the autistic spectrum.
      Please take this into account, it is not a sign of not paying attention or lack of interest.

      The carts are inside my supermarket, and nowadays the spacing is too small to be able to walk through all of the people with more carts while theyre waiting, so my mother tells me to leave it in a place where someone else can take it while shopping and it wont be too too inconvinient for others to move around. Just keep in mind, these are opinions. People do these various things for several reasons, i.e. the crossing arms, doesn't always mean defensive, it can also be boredom, or just self control whilst waiting, as the person doesn't succumb to their child like desires to have to be entertained or engaged at all times, it's a great way to keep from touching things in a public place, which is something most people should learn to practice.

    Body language and irrational behaviors can also be signals of deeper issues, of pain ect. This video is great for signals of possibility but more important, I believe is an overall pattern.
    The irony is not lost on me of impression though, I took care of people in pain for thirty years and now have chronic back pain.
    I have had people literally confront me with being "restless" in my seat when I am actually shifting because of discomfort. Several days of chronic pain can also seriously affect mood. I have been on both sides of this one now. But overall if people I took care of had a good disposition their sharpness was never horrible and regret usually followed. I have definitely found this one to be true for me.

Now people don't have to get out of their car to move it. But you're making the caddie's job harder by not returning them where they belong. They don't belong on the side. The caddie is supposed to collect the carts from the returns and use their machine thingy (I dunno what it's called but it creates a cool Slither-like chain of carts!) to put them back inside the store. Think about how annoyed they would be to have to run a marathon across creation to find lost carts. Especially if it was raining! In America, this all really depends -- there are stalls to return the carts strategically placed in large parking lots besides the front of the store and -- if your car is parked too awkwardly location-wise, and you don't want to go too far away from your loaded car and relock it to do so; no one would blame anyone for leaving the carts in that area to be picked up by an employee making rounds later. Or the next person pulling into the slot, might walk the cart right into the store and shop

    Even if someone might seem bubbly or has a "happy" body language, the person might just use it as a facade. To hide the emotional distress deep down. I've been in a romantic relationship with one. And trust me, it hurts to see her use the same mask 24/7 without having the strength or courage to express how she feels. It hurts so so much. ;(
