Hey Blaine I just tsop modded my 1.0 Xbox in preparation of a bigger hard drive. Everything went well for my Xbox with an ST chip however I did want to mention 2 things. Rather than using solder to bridge the connections together I actually used some conductive paint that was recommended from reddit and applied it to the 2 points using a tooth pick. Also when booting into the hexen disk I don't believe you mentioned the slow boot time to get into the menu, not sure if that happened to you but it did for me and I seriously thought I messed up the burning of the disk initially. Other than that your video was great and I appreciate everything your doing on your channel keep it up!
I gotta ask, how did you run the hexen dvd by just bridging those points together? Is there some trickery going on with that dvd that it will boot once you do the tsop mod?
Welp, I lifted a few traces & also got solder touching one of the smd resistors. All soldering with 1 hand with no magifying glass. Bricked 1.0 that was the cleanest board I've ever seen. FML traces are way too small to try fix.
After I flashed using hexen, my v1.0 powered off as usual after the flash, and once rebooted, it shows the power up animation as normal with the EVO X logo on the top left, but then it sits at a black screen and doesn't so anything. I put in splinter cell to test and it booted and I reinstalled the rocky5 Softmod 1.1.7 just to be safe, and after that, it's still sitting at a black screen after booting up. Help?
@@medude5159 There are 3 types of mods(to play backups and homebrews) for Xbox - one is mod-chip, another one is softmod and another one is Tsop. They all basically do the same things, just in a different ways, and all allows you the upgrade to a bigger HDD. The easiest is the softmod(if you have the tools: memory cads, USB stick reader for Xbox and Splinter Cell game and the software). Its the easiest because it doesn't require to open up your Xbox. Its main drawback though is that if the HDD fail, your Xbox will become just a paperweight since all the necessary files to run is in there.
That's actually no longer true. With modern softmods you can null your eerprom and easily replace the hard drive if it falls. If you want to run without a DVD drive a hardmod allows that, plus other hardware changes.
I got an Xbox that seems to have been soldered at these points already, but the CFW hasn't been installed. I was wondering if it will boot backup game disc without upgrading the CFW yet or do i have to load up Hex?
As soon as I solder the R7R3 points, the XBOX does not want to start. Only With shorted points R7D3 warning that BIOS firmware is not possible. XBOX version 1.0 Bios - ST
I know that you'll remove region restrictions by flashing the BIOS, but in respect of replacing the hard drive, can't you just use the hot swap method without taking this step?
I don't understand one thing: if you have only welded the two points, without soft mod or hard mod, how do you start Hexen to flash the tsop?and if the Xbox had the problem of error 06, how can I do the tsop? Thanks in advance
This was the most aggravating soldering experience I have ever had. I could NOT get the solder to actually stick, no matter the heat. But then I looked and I lost the flipping capacitor at R7D2. No idea how, no idea where it went. Even with a wire - could NOT get it to stick to those two spots.
TSOP Hey Blaine, so I followed your video which was easy and TSOP flashed OG XBOX 1.1 ST. everything appeared to go great except after rebooting my Xbox only shows a blank screen and the ring light is solid orange. I was wondering if you have ideas what could be wrong or if there is a possible fix.
Not to rep another UA-cam channel here but slotgamer has a mega file in his tsop video for the bios checker and Hexen. But check Blaine’s hard drive update for the 2019 hexen link.

TSOP ... Im a first timer attempting on 2 xboxs. Fingers crossed.
same case for me. Hope everything went well for u
Be sure to 256KB to choose if ST?? Either indie or xecuter2... Which of them 128MB with RAM works normally
TSOP
Do you have a Sharp 1.1 specific Tutorial?
Will this work with an older softmod on the machine?

You have to softmod the console first.
Hello how do I check which stop version I have ? My Xbox was solder modded ovrr 20 years ago. The drive I have in it now works. But I want to expand.

I have error 21 can i still do this?
Can you remove the conductive paint after it has been flashed?

Reflash the bios 😂😂😂
Is it possible to use conductive paint instead of using the soldering tool?
Absolutely
All done, thank you!!
What does TSOP does for your xbox( i'm just a newbie at softmodding and stuff)
Im not 100% sure about what it does, but I know it allows you to upgrade the original Harddrive to a bigger one.

How can this be done with wires if the pads were damaged?
Flash not writable?
This video explained a lot thanks.
I have 1.4 Softmoded with 500 GB hard disk looking forward to video to help me threw that

I have the same question…..how did he launch the disk?
@@retrogamereviews7323 He said it was soft moded

I wonder if you just got some solder cut it so it was touching the 2 points then melt it would that work.

Your console is dead. The only rescue is the assembly of the modchip
The download link isn't working anymore for TruHeXEn :/

Good info!
What do I do on a 1.6 Xbox?
Cannot TSOP flash 1.6 version, you'll need a modchip.
HeXen = HEimdall's Xbox ENgineering (Disc)
The link is off... I need this software. You can reload the link?
