@thewheelman282 there is one advantage I can think of for a dual BIOS; so a person ca run a debug BIOS and a custom BIOS on the same machine and use the XDK to develop new software without incurring the cost of an actual debug console. Other than that, the only other scenario I can think of for a dual BIOS setup would be for the purposes of having a fallback BIOS to boot from while developing a new custom BIOS.
[quote="stu2b2"]Hello I’ve Softmoded my Xbox then done a tsop now he’s the problem I can get it to show in hd/720p but when I got to play a backed up game ie xbox original game it loads up but I can not see it put the standard cable back in it work but with crap res so I go to settings it not pal bonus so go to ms dash it loads but now I can not see the standard dash now what is going on I’ve I tryed this every way I can please please help the only thing I can think that has changed is the tsop and uninstalling the softmod 🤯🤬
Excellent tutorial, thanks for all the detailed information. I do have a question though: would TSOP flashing allow me to replace the original DVD drive with an aftermarket one? I realize this is probably a moot point since I can just FTP the games to the hard drive, but I'd still like to have the option of playing my original games even after the factory drive inevitably dies.
as far as im aware, using a custom BIOS doesnt have any bearing on this. The main obstacle is the firmware on the DVD drive. The original drive firmware can read original xbox games while PC drives cannot unless you flash xbox firmware to the drive. The most a custom BIOS would allow is playing burned games on either type of drive
Hi, I have a question about the TSOP chip. In an effort to mod a 1.0 Original xbox, I apparently wired it wrong and cooked my TSOP chip. Is it possible to install a new TSOP chip and flash it?
It's possible but very difficult. You can either buy a new TSOP chip and flash it with a programmer and PC then solder it in or you can solder in a new blank TSOP chip and install a modchip and then flash the new TSOP with an xbox flashing tool.
@@thewheelman282 Thanks for the promt reply. I was attempting to install an Aladdin XT Plus 2 mod chip. The only thing I can figure is that I connected my DO wire to the wrong point. Maybe. My DVD stopped working, so that is why I was trying to mod it. Thanks!!
assemblergames.com/l/threads/zer0-2k11s-mod-chip-and-installation-shop.43131/ the site is down at the moment. they are migrating to new servers. but chips are very affordable there
thanks for the video, it really helps to understand.. I'm trying to fix an error 12 in a soft modded crystall version which i suspect that is an 1.6... And the DVD drive just died in the same day ....
I've checked twice and even use another IDE cable, but no success. I'm thinking buy a mod chip to remove the DVD drive itself(no use for me) and put a larger HDD. Right now i'm having issues finding mod chip for xbox.. every site i visit is out of stock, or charges a lot for a mod chip. Do you have any suggestion?

Been watching a couple of your videos these past weeks and they are great. Thanks for taking the time to make 'em. -J

If I just want to put a larger hard drive in an Xbox do I need to do a TSOP?
The Xbox has to be modded in some way first. So either tsop, softmod, or modchip
i just wanna know if it helps fix a 05 and 06 error my xbox is 1.4 and i messed up my eeprom
Tsop flash or mod chip?
i say tsop when possible unless you have a chip with more features

thewheelman282 Alright, thanks for the information!
+Luis Rosa I know i super late but cant you just use dvd 2 xbox and put all your discs on the hd
I have xbox 360 can the tsop be changed for a new one mine will not flash erase so cannot put a chip out of a same version xbox360 board
modding a 360 is completely different than modding original xbox's. the info in this video will not help you mod your 360
Thanks a lot for this. Helped me understand alot.
If you remove the dvd drive, can you pop in a second hdd instead?
its not possible. the xbox wont recognize it
Had a feeling that was the case. Thanks for replying.
is Tsop flashing meter i mean is there a difference on performance ?
Firas Dhouibi not really a performance gain. Just easier on the user
ok man nice work like and subs for you
Could you recommend me where to get a modchip it? I don't know where to get one and i'm scared of being scamed.
i think eurasia sells Alladin XT clones. they are a reputable dealer. but shipping takes a long time

What kind of solder do I use
60/40 lead-tin with flux core is always a good choice but other metal mixes work too. dont use lead-free solder or acid core solder
Thank you
Can you guess why Microsoft decided to lock Xbox's hard drive causing not to boot to BIOS due to error from Original Xbox?
unlocked my hard drive when trying to upgrade.Next day i turn on error code 5,Kek. Can anyone recommend a modchip
How about a mod chip install video for the v1.6 guys??
can do. i was planning this actually
Awesome. U just gained another subscriber.
thanks man. i appreciate it
thanks for the video, it really helps to understand.. I'm trying to fix an error 12 in a soft modded crystall version which i suspect that is an 1.6... And the DVD drive just died in the same day ....
error 12 is DVD drive related. try reseating all the cables first

Doesn't the tsop let you alter the startup sequence?
Yes. More specifically, the custom bios you flash to the TSOP will let you do this with a config file.
Fact: newer computers use a UEFI BIOS
So I was wondering how do u TSOP flash a v1.6 Xbox?
Lol jk
