What better way to spend time with friends. Great video, close up shots of filets and cooking. That rub sounds great. Made me hungry. Keep up the great videos 👍
You are the best sushi partner and fastest sushi guy I know! Thanks for that and I hope you and your family are doing good! Have to call you and go fishing with us!
Nice day! I have the original version of that Weber that I have owned since about 1992 and I love it, would not get rid of it for any reason. The older version has a thin wire cooking grate and a large V shaped flavor bar under it. I just replaced the flavor bar a couple of months ago with an aftermarket unit off of Ebay. I have a lot of great memories connected with that grill. You are well on your way to developing the same connection to yours. 🍻
miss the late starts, but i'm working 10- 12 hour days. the good news is that i can always enjoy a great vid from you and i'm a little closer - merced. next video !!!
This video was a little different because there wasn’t a premiere! But yes the late starts are fun, but it’s cool to release in the morning because people’s schedules are so different.
Don't know how I never stumbled on your videos before, but you are putting out some good stuff! Keep it up! I am going to Seaforth Landing on Sunday to try and get me a Tuna.
Thanks! Such a huge compliment and thank you for the encouragement! The content keeps getting better because the people we’ve met and the adventures we go on! Let us know how that tuna trip goes! 👏
I just found your channel, and what a great video. Watched the whole thing. Those filet skills are really amazing. And that dish looked amazing. Can’t go wrong with fried rice and fresh halibut. I might need to go make some ramen after watching this at 11 at night!!! New sub here.
That’s awesome! Thanks for taking the time all the way on the east coast! Welcome to the channel! 🙏 releasing a video this week on a 21.8 lb halibut we landed last week!
Hook2Cook I’m looking forward to that video! I have a new channel I started a few months ago. Very happy to see similar content of people doing some great catch and cooks and respecting the fish. You are on the right track with the channel. Very entertaining new supporter here 👍👍👍
Wait! Is that the guy that owns sushi terri in lompoc. I swear i used to talk to him about fishing when he was behind the counter. Its been a long time though.
Start with the visibility structure on land. Things that jet out or water inlets leading to the ocean. Pebbly beach transitioning into rocky beach. Rocks on the sand can mean structure extended into the water. Any areas that are different than the surrounding area could be key holding grounds
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Wow badass video even tho watching it with one eye open🥱😴 Nice catch E, Papa Leroy Gmorning sir well done and you know wat I’m going to eat for breakfast! Wat up Mario 🥑 😳 and your Mexican 🤦🏼♂️ but being a QC is the best part 😋 Mario did your good deed finding someone phone 🙏🏽Yo E, another awesome video and you are so blessed to have homies like Mario and Papa Leroy 🙏🏽

Still going strong! Ended up giving it away to a guy who’s been beating it up worse than we have! Look up our corbina video. The guy who gets in the water to catch them.
You are killing us here Edward 22:23 shhhhh , I'm glad I ate before I watch the video 😂 hope you saved some for Veronica .. I try to fish on the shore but so many people on the beach in Southern Calif.. Do you recommend me high tide or low tide for halibut ? and when is the next video .. Take care bro...
Nice catch man! Been trying to get more into surf fishing lately. I've been just targeting perches and croakers. Would appreciate any tips for other types of fish c: Tight lines!
*Now that is insane* Great video as always! On a side note I’m hitting the in central cal, like 30,40 minutes north of Monterey. Any tips, I’ll be throwing a luck craft ghost sardine color. also, you guys have Corbina up there?? That was a big one.
This was the first trip using it in the surf. Used the larger one for sharks the week before. We’ll keep testing it in future episodes but for this one, it as good.
Thank you so much for a quick reply. I’m from Alaska and would love to get into surf fishing somewhere up here. Watching different videos. I have some decent spinning reels in the 5000-6000 size range(Penns, Pfluegers, Quantum). What size would you recommend for our bigger halibut up here? Line size?
Are you trying to throw lures for them out there? never heard of that being done there... dropshot? but for a dropshot, maybe 40# braid on a 5000 reel... 30# topshot.... depends really on how you want to get them.
Hook2Cook gonna throw some bait out in the fall when the dead salmon are spilling out of the rivers. They hang out there in the fall. Spring is good for halibut too. Got the 40# braid already. Gonna spoil it up. 30# leader? Thank you so much.
Oh yea if you’re throwing bait and not casting over and over and over, go with a big reel. They might run and you’ll need some real power. How big will these fish be!?

My backyard right there! I was just there the other day tossing out my Calissa and caught nothing but vegetation, haha! Awesome content as always!
That pause was critical in getting those bites. They don’t seem to like the straight retrieves.
Hook2Cook thanks! I’ll give that a try next time!

Odm genesis with the 4500 series quantum reliance

What’s up with the glove ? What is it for?
It’s to avoid the braid cutting into the index finger from casting all day. Have gotten some gnarly deep braid cuts from the whipping braid

absolutely if the water is warm enough
