This is my favorite fishing channel, you guys are chill and funny, and you guys go to spots where I could go to and it's really helpful I'm 16 and I'm new to fishing so this helps a lot.
I’ve been wanting to fish there for years! I caught a few short leopard sharks on Saturday, but I hope to catch a keeper soon! Love this vintage Hook2cook video lol
Right? Crazy action from the beginning. Those shovel nose are so prehistoric looking. Amazing. And Monica and Leroy were saying it looks like they have a lot of meat!
Man that looks good!!!! I have caught hundreds of Leo’s in my life up to this point and have never tried one, but I’m going to try my next one, enjoy fellas.
Watched half the live episode and my wife called me in for dinner then watched second half in bed. Loved it bro! I have a spot literally about a mile walk from my house to where leopard sharks run the waters. Going to get me one and have my kids try it. Hope to fish with you someday brother! POWERRRRR!!!🎣💪
Great video and great catches! I fish that spot a lot. You have to be careful about not fishing too far to the left or you're in the marine preserve. The game wardens came and checked my license near there a few years ago. I was just right of where you were fishing. I asked them to point out exactly where the marine reserve cut off point was, but they couldn't tell me. So maybe it's nothing to worry about! Tight lines!
@@Hook2Cook if you ever in the San Francisco area would love to go cast with you. Also any split ring suggestions? I only have the 4x hooks in the stock rings right now
If you are targeting big leapords try using fresh perch. Pretty much only sharks will go for it so no rays and it stays on the hook really well without any magic string
I live in SLO and recently been getting into fishing had success with trout. Currently on a mission for surf perch, would love to join you guys one of these days, Also cool fact is my best buddy works for sunset honda in slo!
@@Hook2Cook nice so you didn’t have to soak the leopard shark meat in buttermilk/milk overnight to get the ammonia scent off? My son and hi friend caught a nice Soup shark last Saturday and Sunday off the Cayucos pier they gave me a nice fat filet talk about good eating OMG , I soaked overnight in milk it definitely helped , maybe the leopard shark has less ammonia scent.
@@Hook2Cook exactly makes a lot of sense now that my sons friend bled it and cut the tail off right away after bringing it to the pier and gut and filleted it to and on ice it went. You ever fish the Cayucos pier ? Caught both those Soupshark on whole surf perch..
I'm late on this video, but if the meat has an ammonia smell after you clean it, all you have to do is soak it in saltwater and change the water 2 times a day until the smell is gone and you will be golden.
@@Hook2Cook that's awesome, I didn't have that option on the 62" one I got last year in Humboldt bay. I was on my boat, although I dispatched and gutted right away I was unable to fillet it for over an hour, took 3 days to get the smell out but was well worth it.
@@Hook2Cook Locals know that spot, I catch many Leopards there ever summer, caught an 80 lb ray near there last summer, and a 40 lb ray there last weekend. Locals know to use a yak to drop the bait, and sit back and wait!

The shovelnose was badass! Been wanting to catch and cook one of those
Right? Crazy action from the beginning. Those shovel nose are so prehistoric looking. Amazing. And Monica and Leroy were saying it looks like they have a lot of meat!
They taste almost exactly like sturgeon
I loved the bloopers/extras at the end!
Especially the , “I hooked him in the butt” part 😭🤣
Hahah that's awesome you picked up on that. Leroy is hilarious
Hook2Cook yeah he seems like a raw guy, old school but you got to love them haha
Broooo! Your UA-cam is blowing up! Great video and holy smokes on your subscribers already. Great content you’re putting out 🙌
Thank you! It’s been a journey for sure but upping the quality of the content has definitely helped

Much appreciated Fausto! 🙌 good luck out there!
What a Great episode nice change of pace!!!
It really was a fun change of pace and worth the new grill 😅
This is so great Edward. Love you man. Dude and awesome fishing technique.
got my first fish ever on the surf with the calissa and the rod you suggested and it was a striper!!!!!!
Wow! It keeps getting better and better! 🙌
@@Hook2Cook if you ever in the San Francisco area would love to go cast with you. Also any split ring suggestions? I only have the 4x hooks in the stock rings right now
That’s legit thank you. Definitely recommend owner hyper wire. I’ve just been using stock rings. Landed that 13# striper on stock rings
@@Hook2Cook for sure man. just ordered some. now just to look for something to store fish, currently only using a small cooler
I love your spinning combo it's 🔥👍

My buddy just gave me one and he said he dispatched it and bled it but I can smell the ammonia. I’m gonna cook it up, did you smell that as well Ed?
Did he leave the guts in?
@@Hook2Cook Hi Ed, no he did not.
The shovelhead and bat ray are delicious too! I would say tastier then leapord . Good catch !
Love leopard shark fishing, beautiful patterns. Rays and shovelnose also like that "muddy" water. Any clams, ghost shrimp or spotfin around?
Joe! Definitely some clams and ghost shrimp evidence but we didn’t dig for em.
Sweet bro! I'll be home from work then after the vid it's off to the surf!
Awesome!!!!😆
Awesome show! Looks yummy! You should do a bat ray catch and cook episode!
Thanks so much! It came out awesome
Sweet Leopard Shark fish tacos looks good.
Great vid! Looked tasty!👍😄🐟
Thanks! It was definitely yum
Very nice best way to eat fish
Hope I can go with you guys some times.
Will love to hung out with you guys and my friend Leroy !! 👍🏻
Do you use scent on bait ?
That looks like Morro Bay in the back bay
Oh man nice 👍🏿 I caught a shovel nose guitar almost the size too at pismo
Yea! You sent me a pic! I remember that!
Huge fish

that's awesome man. Are you Chris Rojas on Facebook with the Laker jerseys?
@@Hook2Cook yessir!
Where were you fishing ?
Another nice video!
Thanks brotha!
Great video as always.
Thank you!
Any spots you recommended for leopard shark fishing?
Sick video
Appreciate it
Would you be able to tell me where’s this spot at
Thank you for making it pm haha
Yup! Let’s see how this goes
17:54 i think he needs to borrow the hook removers
Where is this ?
Was that during low tide?
Yes it was!
Nice video fellas was this in the Los Osos area?
Yes

@@ralphbriseno9830 the trick it’s to bleed it out and gut it fast. Sharks pee through their skin so the faster you can gut it, the better the meat is

Sorry Soupfin Shark I’m still learning lol
Morrow bay or Los osos side ?

Yea we dispatched and bled and cleaned it in a span of 10 minutes. No time for ammonia to seep into the meat

That was cheating but cool tho 🤪 nice cooking Papa Leroy and good bonding fishing and catch and cook with the homies 🙏🏽
Haha yea we like to call them fishing hacks
You gotta hook me up with this spot. Been a dream for a long time to catch a big leopard
We don’t tell exact spots but keep an eye on the comment thread someone might drop it

dang never seen anyone carry rays like that
Is this in California?
Yessir!
@@Hook2Cook sweet! At first glance I thought it was the bay area, but I don't think we have shovel nose here. And awesome video!!
Thanks! This was definitely an episode where we all had a really great time
Dude those big sand sharks are good to eat, only eat the tail meat. Yummy yum I'm not kidding.
Yea! We’ll have to try that another time for sure
🤔 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐤? I miss the perch videos 🤪
Wild goose chases 😬
LOL.
Why do you premiere all your videos? Why not just upload it
It’ll be high definition for those who are first to watch and the live chat during the premiere is 🔥🔥🔥. If you just upload, UA-cam doesn’t give HD.
Hook2Cook oh ok makes sense, they just seem like they get pushed out days , idk I’m just being picky haha
Shark ceviche is the best try it u will never make any other type of ceviche
Facts
Next time for sure
🍻
Let’s go!!! 🍻
Are you awesome....
Soak your plastics in fish sauce.
Why are people against killing leopard shark?
Probably because they are so beautiful
