Thumbs up for letting that Hen go. It was a down year for spawning Stripers in the Colusa area. On a different note, when the Anchovy are pushed up on the beach and you can't see Stripers boiling, we used a snag rig to snag Anchovy and let it sit on the bottom where Stripers are picking off wounded Anchovy

Super enjoyed this video - It was fun to see your friend get hooked-up. It never occurred to me to clean and cook a surf perch that way. We always fillet them, but I will give your method a shot. Personally I think surf perch is a fine eating little fish.
