Sorry dude, If I made it seem like an annoying trend had died. Don't worry, nothing lasts forever. I still recommend Dragon Ball Fighterz though, if you're a Dragon Ball fan, or a fighting game fan. Even as a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts, I can't defend the names of those games. The games i mentioned are mostly good games(except for Back Cover, because it's just cutscenes and Re:Coded because it's also cutscene, as well as Days too), Chain Of Memories because it tries to put cards in a place they didn't need to be, the environments are boring and repetitive, it's a rehash of the first KH game, etc. But Birth By Sleep and Birth By Sleep 0.2, are good games. I was thinking that too. Like, they say all the Petz games are the same, but use footage from literally the only one that's not the same (and would give them more than enough to talk about on its own bizarre merits).

The Dogz game for the Wii was completely different from regular pets games! It was an adventure game copy of the Dog Island, but when I was 12 I loved it.
Okay, so this is going to sound really nitpicky but for the Number 5 segment most of the footage used is from the console version of Petz Dogs 2. Here's the thing: that game, as well as it's cat counterpart, are actually adventure games not simulators. They're strangely pretty decent and include an over-world with 14 major locations (15 if you count both halves of Pawville), an actual story, side quests, collectibles, full customization of not just the player but all the main town npcs, and a few mini-games worked into the zoo animal rescue side quest. The controls work well and there is some interesting mechanics such as literally digging for items, the way enemies are programmed to fall asleep at night/day (depending on the species), or the hot vs cold mechanic used in Inferno Cave/Polar Fields where you have to bathe in water pockets/hot springs to prevent dying from overheating/hypothermia. And yes, you can actually die, which results in not only going back to the last save point but losing half your money. The music's pretty good, too. Really, the game's only sin is a lack of a proper ending and the two versions being the same outside of the species of the player and NPCs. To be fair, the rest of the series really are just mediocre simulation games. It's just the video doesn't match and as someone who knows the game being shown it's a bit bothersome.
I thought I was crazy. Those were my childhood. Most of the cats/dogz games were. I wish I could replace them but I’d have to buy a new DS lite and such. :/
Okay, I'll defend the Petz games. Well, a few of them. The series is actually quite varied, with some of the games being standard Nintendogs ripoffs while some of them are essentially minigame compilations. Some of them you play as the animals, and others you act as their caretaker. Pets Dogz 2, the game shown in the majority of clips in the video, isn't actually a pet simulation game. Rather, it's more of an exploration/action RPG and probably the best in the series. I remember getting this game when I was about 8. When my mom was looking at reviews online, there were a bunch of angry parents saying NOT to buy it because they just thought it was a standard pet dress up simulator. The game actually does require some amount of skill/reasoning, and if you handed this to a 5 year old they would be hopelessly lost (and sad that they couldn't afford clothes because their dog kept getting killed by snakes). There are tons of enemies scattered throughout the world, and they WILL kill you. Death means losing half of your money (which is used to buy things like healing items), so it does have consequences. You can 'stun' enemies by barking/throwing rocks at them, but exploration and collection is the main focus rather than combat. Like animal crossing, there are entire libraries full of fish, plants, animals, and butterflies to collect. There are enemy and environment-based status effects, and the game has a wide array of areas to explore (beach, caves, gorge, volcano, arctic, etc) The game has a story (albeit a rather cheesy one) which involves an evil wolf stealing a magic hat and bringing destruction to the world. There IS a final boss fight, which was quite challenging as a kid. The characters are charming, and the only minigames are fishing and bug catching. Maybe I'm just viewing the game through the rose-tinted glasses of childhood nostalgia, but this game was the Petz series at its best. Which is honestly not that bad, all things considered. You can tell a lot of heart was put into the game, which isn't true for the other entries on this list or later installments in the series.
I only played a few of them, but Petz Dogz Talent Show kinda sucked. It was minigame-focused, and didn't have a whole lot of options for actually caring for the pet. I'm sure there are other stinkers, but that's the only one I had personal experience with.
Tbh I think the Petz games are good. I still enjoy them today. If you're going to mention really bad wii animal games, you should've mentioned Purr Pals.
I don't think they are bad ether, I think the problem is that most games are copies of eachother. But other then that I love these games to death. But that's mostly me since im that person that likes shuffle ware

The petz games for windows were much better, my favorite being, catz 5/dogz 5. Even had a modding scene. Fun fact: facade (yes, the "dramatic" experimental game about a couple close to divorce) uses the same rendering technique as a pet simulator. The dogs and cats in the early 2000s petz pc games and the couple in facade are rendered entirely with shaderless spheres rather than polygons. I believe sprites positioned in 3d space rather than 3d spheres.

18:20 AS I WATCHED THIS I WAS LITERALLY THINKING HOW GOOD THESE GAMES WERE. GRANTED, I WAS LITTLE WHEN I PLAYED THIS AND HAD IT ON THE PS2 BUT I HAD PETZ: DOGZ, AND THAT GAME SLAPPED?? LIKE SLAPPED SLAPPED. okay let me stop with the caps lol. the game isn’t about “taking care of ur pets”, the dogs one (& probably the rest tbh) is about this evil magic dog ruining the little world you & the rest of the dogs live in and you have to stop it. imo it’s fun & the last time i played it, at around 10 maybe, i actually found it kind of difficult. your dog dying is basically a game over (as far as i remember) & it was super easy to die. maybe it’s my nostalgic mind trying to make it seem better but i loved that game. just don’t slander my Petz like that.

The Dogz game for the Wii was completely different from regular pets games! It was an adventure game copy of the Dog Island, but when I was 12 I loved it.
I have experienced the actual M&M Kart Racing.
I haven't fully recovered from that experience.
Play Garfield kart you will recover

I played it on DS when I was around 7 or 8. I remember thinking it was ok but I highly HIGHLY suspect I'd wanna burn it these days
I got it on DS, but I don’t really play it.

Just for the record, 'blitz' is actually spelled with a 'z', so I don't get why make fun of the developers for spelling a word correctly.
I was just about to say that
You are as dumb as Fortnite kids
It’s not really an English word, thought. I don’t know what if would mean if it is.
Your editing is getting fantastic man!
To be fair, Blitz is a German word, which translates to "Lightning".
It also a word that pertains to military assaults and acting quickly.
How dumb are you. It was a joke
@@nman551 What Joke? It's been a while.
......I like how Game Grumps have played a few of these
Blitz is spelled with a "z"
Because it’s “cool” 😒
@@kyragthecat177 No. It's because that's how it's spelled
Oh ok
Kyra the cat knows what’s up.
God, stop trying to make it cool... just say “blits” like everyone else, my gOD 😒
Actually, the action girlZ racing "women" are actually men using pseudonyms
That Graham dude talks so slowly that I had to change the video speed to 1.25x
Thanks the tip!
Gotta admire him saying "At this point I'm past givin a fugh"

Blitz is an actual word though
The other bloke's accent is violently scouse (to me, a scouser) and I absolutely love it
Right!? Never expect to hear another scouser on channels like this. Boss isn’t he!
Rachael Twilight good lord hahaha
Why Did u write a Huge Paragraph
If it works it works. That's why there is a lot. Look at Call of Duty. Essentially the same game, just changing cosmetics. Then Zombies then Aliens.
acidonia150 I actually didn’t know this, thank you!
Which ones will you not defend? Just wanna know
I only played a few of them, but Petz Dogz Talent Show kinda sucked. It was minigame-focused, and didn't have a whole lot of options for actually caring for the pet. I'm sure there are other stinkers, but that's the only one I had personal experience with.
Petz 5 is better.
I love how it sounds whenever GrahamGrayDog says the word "chicken"
CHHickens
He says the F word like "Fluffin"
Tbh I think the Petz games are good. I still enjoy them today.
If you're going to mention really bad wii animal games, you should've mentioned Purr Pals.
I don't think they are bad ether, I think the problem is that most games are copies of eachother. But other then that I love these games to death. But that's mostly me since im that person that likes shuffle ware
I loved the Petz Catz game I had on my PS2 too! Kinda broke my heart to see it on a list like this, I had a great time when I played it back then.
@@shouganai. same with Loonatics Unleashed in another list. Didn't see any problems with it so why was it on there. I don't give a crap about Sam Register or Jimmy Kimmel.

Lmao im dying 😂💀
you guys should do bad ds games. i request you put shrek smash ‘n’ crash racing on that list, it’s so bad
Unpopular opinion but kingdom hearts 358/2 should be included.
I think there should be a Gameboy shovelware list too.
Even for a 'girl game', Bratz Forever Diamonds for the DS is one of the worst game I've ever played.
I'd also add Shrek Super Slam, Marvel Rise of the Imperfects, and Crash! Boom! Bang!
@@zhoukiyo it was so bad i loved it. Believe it or not, that game is far from the worst out of the 100 girly ds games ive played. Seriously, the ds has some of the largest number of worst graphics games xD
3:42 "I am honestly past the point of givin a fough"
The petz cat game footage you showed was actually a completely different adventure type game!
I love Petz 5
They ripped off Dog Island
Looked like "The Dog Island" which is a weird but lovable game.
Spram2 I think they used the same engine and stuff so that's why.
lmao 14:40 does he not know that Blitz is just German for lightning? Like what did he think the original was "blits"?
Has he never heard of a blitzkrieg... Oh wait no, bc everything with a Z has to be radical of course -_-

*NO MOM I WAS KIDDING*
I owned and played M&M Cart Racing and I can confirm, even as a 11 year old with a short attention span, the game is virtually unplayable.
NO LIE: one day I was at a friend's house and she had a used copy of Chicken Shoot in her Wii and I immediately noticed a) it was preowned and bought from GameStop and b) I IMMEDIATELY thought it looked like absolute GARBAGE.

He's exaggerating for the dramatic effect to emphasize how much he enjoyed the game. You're not suppose to take it literally or seriously.
Don't worry.
Most of us have some kind of Shovelware that we enjoy because of nostalgia.
@@elkarlo1593 I still think it's a great game. I don't love it purely for the nostalga

Game Party brings back memories. Scooped that game up for like $5 at gamestop lol
it was an awesome game
GIBBY!!!
Ikr I liked that game alot
I honestly beleive that That Creepy Reading didn't even realize his mic was on and they just left it in.
Wii is the console that aged badly, the shovelware of the Wii was so awful that it hurt the console. Even those shovelware games have been donated to thrift stores for super cheap that nobody wants them.
18:20 AS I WATCHED THIS I WAS LITERALLY THINKING HOW GOOD THESE GAMES WERE. GRANTED, I WAS LITTLE WHEN I PLAYED THIS AND HAD IT ON THE PS2 BUT I HAD PETZ: DOGZ, AND THAT GAME SLAPPED?? LIKE SLAPPED SLAPPED. okay let me stop with the caps lol. the game isn’t about “taking care of ur pets”, the dogs one (& probably the rest tbh) is about this evil magic dog ruining the little world you & the rest of the dogs live in and you have to stop it. imo it’s fun & the last time i played it, at around 10 maybe, i actually found it kind of difficult. your dog dying is basically a game over (as far as i remember) & it was super easy to die. maybe it’s my nostalgic mind trying to make it seem better but i loved that game. just don’t slander my Petz like that.
dude i clearly remember playing smurf's dance party in elementary school music class

I remember playing the Bratz game for the Wii when I was younger, I don't know if my age played along with this, but I couldn't figure out how to play it. You just walked around blindly looking for stores to go into to complete the game. I'm kind of surprised it wasn't on this list. 😕😕

GrahamGrayDog's narration of the M&Ms part was hilarious.
Also, fun fact, apparently Data Design tried to make a deal to make a Spyro game. Thank goodness the deal apparently fell through, or Enter the Dragonfly 2 would be on this list.
The real reason why the M&Ms racing game was bad: YOU CANT PLAY AS THE TAN M&M OR EMINEM
