I think both Link and Zelda were like Oscar the Wrasse, Angelica Pickles, Davey Stone, Buck Ace Cluck and many one-dimensional assholes in TLOZ TV series.
I have the whole Legend of Zelda season on DVD. I liked it when I was younger, but I knew how bad it was even then. It inspired me to write/act (but thankfully not record) my own Zelda show idea, which was somehow even worse now that I think about it. In my version, Link was mostly mute, with grunting and screaming as his primary communication. He also had the mental capabilities of a toddler, yet Zelda was still in love with him and wanted to marry him. Zelda also had six older sisters, one of whom was both blind and insane. Most of the episodes consisted of them getting in petty fights in the castle, which ended with Zelda running away and Link having to rescue her. In the end, they tried to get married only to find out that they were siblings and then cancel the wedding. Oh, and I envisioned this whole thing to be filmed in live-action. 12-14 year old me had some serious issues, I think.
I vaguely remember the show's opening from my youth, specifically from when I was around 8 - 10 years of age, on Disney XD, on some morning. I believe I wanted to catch an episode of the show, just I never got around to doing so. Seeing this compilation, though, well, suffice to say I wasn't missing much.
Funny you mention that the Pac-Man in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures isn't a Pac-MAN and is "the descendant of the Legendary Yellow One", and how only Yellow Pac-People can eat ghosts. The show strongly hints that this Pac-Boy is actually the *son* of Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, with this bit of mythology of the franchise that only Yellow Pac-People can eat ghosts becoming the new explanation for why Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man were the original heroes in the first place. If this is true, then the entire narrative is of a new Pac-Man following in the footsteps of the original, walking towards the eventual goal of being just as great of a hero.
The Fire Emblem section isn't totally accurate. Marth, at that point, was named Mars (Marusu, in a romanization of the name). He was named after the Roman God of War. He got the name Marth during the development of Melee due to it being simply another possible translation of the same name. Shiida was also a fine translation of the name, with Caeda being a more westernized version of the name. In Europe, she was even known by the name Shiida in the remake of the first Fire Emblem game, Shadow Dragon.
To be fair, Sonic having siblings would probably make some hilarious moments and probably even a great game..... .......if they do it right, that is. Oh, and one of the only actual positives of Sonic Boom was Sticks. She's silly.
23:48 ''The silent hero, that is meant to be the literal ''link'' between the player and the game.'' Yes, the joke's already mentioned in the video, but I still think it's funny.
When I was a kid, the Super Mario Bros. Super Show was one of my most favorite TV shows. My little brother and I watched it all time, and despite its poor quality, it still holds a special place in my heart. To this day, l still call the koopa kids by their TV show names, rather than the ones Nintendo has provided them with. When I got older, I felt bad that so many people on the internet hated this cartoon and made fun of it! But when I came back to watch it for the first time in years, I realized how bad it actually was :P
wizzaroot. The CRINGE Channel my neices & nephews love it on Netflix. I'd rather watch it with them then most shows now on Nick, CN, and Disney Channel. Those make the Super Show look like Shakespeare.
Haha, I can totally agree with you on that! :) There's plenty of horrendously bad cartoons on TV right now... but if you keep an eye out, you can find some of the good ones.
The Fire Emblem anime had so much potential of being a successful, developed, long anime series and could've been the 90s anime Nintendo version of Game of Thrones, if only it was only shown in Japan first and then at the time the games were released in the US, that would have been the perfect time to dub it for the west. It was all due to bad decisions of releasing it prematurely to the west got it axed.
6:14 Actually, "Shiida" is more correct that one realizes. It's how her name sounds in Japanese, and Caeda's first syllable's supposed to be pronounced in the same way the English language pronounces "Caesar", sounding like "see". Totally get the confusion, however. It took Fire Emblem Warriors' release for her name to spoken in English again.
I honestly liked Sonic Underground. It had a great story and setting unique to these Sonic shows. Sure it wasn’t really faithful to the series, but if you saw it in the light of spin-off fam fic, it’s not that bad. I actually liked Sonic’s siblings and I wanted them to win. But yeah...the songs weren’t that great to me. I skipped them all.
I partially watched Sonic Underground on POP when I was young. I really do not like That Creepy Reading's annoying scream at the beginning of the video and his annoying reaction to/rant about/mental breakdown over the propechy in that show and similar stories in other animated shows based on video games at 19:56, as well as his critique of the show in general. Here is a link to Steve Reviews' review of the show, where he talks calmly about the prophecy: ua-cam.com/video/LVXRQDLTSOQ/v-deo.html After the show was canceled in 1999, ending with Sonic the Hedgehog, Manic the Hedgehog and Sonia the Hedgehog never finding Queen Aleena and dethroning Doctor Eggman, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) intended to conclude the story in 2012, but the project ended up cancelled. Fortunately, Archie Sonic Online decided to give their own spin on the show's conclusion in the form of Sonic Universe Online Issue 50. Links/Sources: sonicretro.org/2012/10/11/sonic-underground-to-be-finished-in-comic-form/ ua-cam.com/video/eSKRyNJ8xfE/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/W9EKTvw0n9A/v-deo.html
I liked TGAoPac-Man. It had a good plot, funny jokes, great characters, and pretty good animation. Sure, it’s kind of weird and cheesy at times, and it definitely doesn’t have a point to exist, but it’s a great show that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a whole-some show.
BenjiXAddictX4Ever Then why are you here IN EVERY VIDEO? I have already made several complaints to other commentators about why are you here. You're creeping me out.
If they could find a decent work-around with Link's silent characterization, there's potential for an interesting Zelda series, definitely a movie. Considering how many iterations of the main characters there are at this point, entering into film contract with Sony's animation department might be a good idea (yeah, I'm aware Nintendo & Sony are video game industry rivals). I just think, since Sony Animation did such a wonderful job with Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, a similarly experimental approach to the film animation techniques that studio developed to mimic comic books...they could probably work with Nintendo's game animators to accurately produce The Legend of Zelda's atmosphere and animation on the big screen. For Into the Spiderverse, the story writers knew their source medium very well. It's obvious that the lack of understanding of the source material, and why fans love it, is the glaring issue with these failures. And a Spiderverse-like approach to the plot of a Zelda movie would work amazingly well too, since the official canon establishes Link as multi-dimensional character, literally. Idk, I just wish video game tv series and movies could hit their stride. If the multi-billion dollar success of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series can come from nothing but a Disney Parks dark-ride and a theme song, then the rich plots of video game series are more than capable of making good stories for the film medium.
I know this comment is like, 2 years old but I agree 100 percent that sounds like an amazing idea. I heard that Nintendo wants to expand their ip and might make more movies and shows of their games, that's if the mario movie does well. I think a Zelda animated series or movie sounds fantastic, whether it be 3d animated, 2d animated, an anime, or a spiderverse artstyle like you said. I hope it happens, even if it's probably not gonna happen
@@helenyanes4350 Lol, hi! Funny that you even found my comment 2 yrs later? UA-cam usually quickly buries low-likes comments after a couple months lol. I honestly wouldn't say a lovely high-quality animated Zelda series is as far off a pipe dream now as it was....even compared to 5 month ago. So, there's hope. Arcane REALLY blew everyone away. The style is comparable to 'Into the Spiderverse' to me for sure, just in terms of how innovative, new, and breath-taking it felt. Like, I was getting Miyazaki-levels of awe at the visuals and the story-telling! It unseated Squid Game in netflix streaming rankings so yeah....Arcane has proven it is def possible to do a good series adaption of a video game IP, at the very least. And also surpass 'good' by a long-shot. Arcane is rated M and Nintendo rarely lets their main IPs go beyond PG... so there is that difference. But that's just their brand; the 'Disney' of video games so-to-speak ig. But y'know, I think Arcane's success might still be the push of confidence and pop-culture clout that Nintendo needs to move forward on their branching out plans? And to not be convinced by Hollywood execs to compromise quality and the the core DNA of their properties in other mediums, like with pretty much all the other attempts listed here, ugh. (I REALLY hope the in-progress Mario film is taking notice and adjusting accordingly.) Anyway, I THINK more doors are open??? Hopefully??? And I'm excited! So let's wait and see and hope ;)
I remember my cousins loved that Mortal Kombat cartoon. I found it boring but I didn't mention it because they could only watch two different channels while we had cable in my house. I thought it had more episodes with how often they watched it. Oh, and I think it's worth mentioning that this Mortal Kombat cartoon was successful enough to receive a Latin dub, which is why I got to watch it.
From what I can tell, "Mars" is actually a more proper translation than "Marth", as the name is meant to allude to the Roman god of war. My guess is that "Marth" was a misromanization in Melee that just happened to be kept.
Super Mario Bros Super Show, Sonic cartoons... well, i thought the author that putted that combination in the WORST list would be hated. Author, you are REALLY lucky!
Yeah, the episodes can be quite dark and IMO, it's well written for a show with little continuity between episodes and honestly better than Sonic Boom, as Boom is too jokey.
11:26 Maurice LaMarche who portrayed Gadget in the episode “Defective Gadgetry” would later be the voice of Gadget in the 2002 special “Inspector Gadget’s Last Case” and in the Canadian exclusive spinoff “Gadget and the Gadgetinis” He actually killed it with the Don Adams impersonation.
To be honest, I enjoyed the Donkey Kong Country cartoon. The voice they gave King K. Rool was nice and spawned a fantastic dub voice in the fandom, namely the one used by Juno Songs in his Gangplank Galleon lyrical cover. I also enjoyed Sonic Underground.

That's fine I like the original 1995 Mortal Kombat movie even Christopher Lampert (The actor who played Lord Raiden) had fun being in the movie.
I always prefer this over the Mario cartoons
I remember liking Sonic Underground. Not sure why though.
Same here
I vaguely remember the show's opening from my youth, specifically from when I was around 8 - 10 years of age, on Disney XD, on some morning. I believe I wanted to catch an episode of the show, just I never got around to doing so. Seeing this compilation, though, well, suffice to say I wasn't missing much.
How dare he call Sonic X just AVERAGE but called Sonic SatAM DOWNRIGHT AWESOME!
I used to like it...until the movie killed my love for the whole franchise
They wasted the show’s concept, the dialogue is cringey, and the VAs are downgrade
But Maaaaaaaaaars
I was looking for this
ImmaLittlePip >the dub wasn't that bad
It wasn't. It's just Gordin that's really bad, and even then his dub is so bad it's actually memetic.
But maaaaaahmm
Am I the only one who loves Sonic Underground?
nah, I loved it too
Brianna Chiavetta no sonic is love sonic is life
@@MintyToq yes
It's pretty good

That is now my headcanon

The Fire Emblem section isn't totally accurate. Marth, at that point, was named Mars (Marusu, in a romanization of the name). He was named after the Roman God of War. He got the name Marth during the development of Melee due to it being simply another possible translation of the same name.
Shiida was also a fine translation of the name, with Caeda being a more westernized version of the name. In Europe, she was even known by the name Shiida in the remake of the first Fire Emblem game, Shadow Dragon.
+famicomwars In general, translating names is stupid unless the character has some fucked up name like [Insert something in arab].
I literally just looked to see if you uploaded and not 5 minutes later you do wtf.
To be fair, Sonic having siblings would probably make some hilarious moments and probably even a great game.....
.......if they do it right, that is.
Oh, and one of the only actual positives of Sonic Boom was Sticks. She's silly.
I spent every Saturday in second grade watching pac man and the ghostly adventures
Yep me 2
23:48 ''The silent hero, that is meant to be the literal ''link'' between the player and the game.'' Yes, the joke's already mentioned in the video, but I still think it's funny.
Koopa kids? You're thinking of the Super Mario Bros. 3 show which came out after and was better :p
Ah, yeah. You got what I mean though XD
I always thought that the names of the koopalings in the TV show were catchier than their original names.
"Well excuuuuuuuse me princess" is a whole legend
Without the Mario show we wouldn't have YTPs!

To be fair, the Donkey Kong TV show is probably the most brilliant piece of media to ever grace this planet, if not the universe
They gave it the ol' banana try.
They gotta bring it back
Donkey Kog
They gotta give it back
Take it back
I guess there's more to knowing how to be a king
Donkey Kog You gotta see beyond the mystery-e-e!
The only reason why I hated the Assassin's Creed movie was because they didn't make any references to the game
Joseph Joestar: *"OOOOOOOHHHHHHH NNNNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"*
Phew, Kirby Right Back at Ya wasn't on here!
DeJon Da KirbyRemixer That show was 90% like the game honestly King DeDeDe was my favorite.
keynan martinez EXACTLY, Dedede MADE that show!

keynan martinez Same! Star Allies is gonna be sweet!
DeJon Da KirbyRemixer Kirby is the only franchise that mantains quality, even when its not about videogames. But pls dont watch the 4kids version.
Here is a link to Steve Reviews' review of the show, where he talks calmly about the prophecy: ua-cam.com/video/LVXRQDLTSOQ/v-deo.html
After the show was canceled in 1999, ending with Sonic the Hedgehog, Manic the Hedgehog and Sonia the Hedgehog never finding Queen Aleena and dethroning Doctor Eggman, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) intended to conclude the story in 2012, but the project ended up cancelled. Fortunately, Archie Sonic Online decided to give their own spin on the show's conclusion in the form of Sonic Universe Online Issue 50.

Luke Perry as Sub Zero still gets to me. Lmaoooo

The ironic thing was that they never found their mother.
TheEmptyDeadChannel The show got killed before it reached a proper conclusion. :'(
I know. I just find it really funny that the entire plot that they bragged about during the entire theme song never actually happened.

Maybe do it like MGSV where Big Boss does talk but it's mostly silent because he's supposed to be the player
(I REALLY hope the in-progress Mario film is taking notice and adjusting accordingly.)
Anyway, I THINK more doors are open??? Hopefully??? And I'm excited! So let's wait and see and hope ;)
I remember my cousins loved that Mortal Kombat cartoon. I found it boring but I didn't mention it because they could only watch two different channels while we had cable in my house. I thought it had more episodes with how often they watched it. Oh, and I think it's worth mentioning that this Mortal Kombat cartoon was successful enough to receive a Latin dub, which is why I got to watch it.
Damn I thought Sonic Underground was actually good because I personally enjoyed it in my opinion, especially the Knuckles episode.
Mocha Flavored Knock Knock its Knuckles
Jozsef Molnar More like SIX FEET UNDERGROUND

Mocha Flavored i would rather watch Sonic Ova. They used good Knuckles and made him justice to the character unlike this one.
i rather prefer the unseen Knuckles in Knuckles & Knuckles & Knuckles episode
Mocha Flavored me too
From what I can tell, "Mars" is actually a more proper translation than "Marth", as the name is meant to allude to the Roman god of war. My guess is that "Marth" was a misromanization in Melee that just happened to be kept.

Super Mario Bros Super Show, Sonic cartoons... well, i thought the author that putted that combination in the WORST list would be hated. Author, you are REALLY lucky!

The Donkey Kong Country cartoon is amazing. Don't @ me.

The movie is good too, I had on DVD too
Man I really frickin' hope that they make a fire emblem anime using the animation style from Shadows of Valentia. That game is sooooo beautiful!
Even by how bad the Super Mario Bros Super Show was, it will always be in my heart. Captain Lou and Danny Wells will never be forgotten.

Yeah, the episodes can be quite dark and IMO, it's well written for a show with little continuity between episodes and honestly better than Sonic Boom, as Boom is too jokey.
