Gab, the Stones are great entertainment, absolutely. In LZ, however, you have terrific songs, four musicians, now including Jason, who are some of the best ever! You know anyone who has a voice like Plant's, just a few who can play the guitar like Page, or are as truly versatile as JPJ? All in ONE group? There just isn't another band out there like LZ...and never was. My two cents...
Even after all those years, some 60 yr old senior citizens show the rest how to GET IT DONE! Still the best, simply incredible... You are correct sir, BEST BAND EVER!
It's good to see more people now noticing JPJ because he's always been just as important to Zeppelin's sound and creativity as any of the other band members.
@@patgray5402 I see three possibilities here: (1) you're just kidding, 2) you suffer severe hearing loss, or (3) you need new speakers. As for contributing, he also played lap steel, keyboards, and just about anything else the band needed. He was their musical Swiss army knife.
He was married so he was never a big partied I believe. I got to read their book again because I think these guys used to play hilarious Jokes on poor Jonsey!! Oh .since he wasn’t a big partier he will ALWAYS be flawless!!
John Paul Jones a rock and a pillar in the construct of Led Zeppelin, the greatest rock band that ever played.!! And this fantastic arrangement of Ramble On - seething with space and dynamics and texture, laying down a landscape of an elite class of musicians.
Come on man. How can that not put a smile on your face! Legends putting it all out there one last time! They killed it!!! All still so talented, cannot believe Plant's voice held up. What a treat to have DNA replica Bonham on stage too; he must have felt so honoured to play in his dad's stead, his dad would have been so proud, and the rest of the band members must have felt they did John right and felt so happy to be able to get everyone together because of him with an almost perfect Zeppelin line-up.
Love JPJ looks over at Jimmy and smiles!!! JPJ Bass is very heavy which makes it sound awesome!! Ramble on is incredible.. I’m a guitarist so seeing Jimmy doing it allows me to see how he does it !!!😁👍
While I would certainly not give it a thumbs down, it's kinda true that it's not their best rendition of that song. To accommodate Plant's vocals which can no longer reach their former high pitch, everything is tuned down a couple steps and it somehow affects the energetic quality of the song. The sound mix is also not that good but that may only be a UA-cam problem. In any case, I actually love this video but I can see why someone wouldn't like it.
Page seems way more focused and brilliant here than he usually did on stage back in the day. Evidently having your brain clean and clear makes a big difference.
LZ is actually better here than they were back in the day because they are clear headed, polished, and are well aware of their legendary greatness. They knew this was their final performance and they exceeded everyone's expectations. I loved how they gave each song the respect that they deserved.
Terrible and irrational observation. Have you even listened to their early shows? 69” was the tightest and most polished they ever sounded, compared to this they are sloppy. The best the band sounded was 75”. Oh yeah, you’re also missing the greatest rock drummer ever John Bonham. Huge gap in the sound. I will call you mr. tin ears.
How on earth has he kept his voice so powerful and clear for all these years. Others lose their clarity and mumble or "mic to the audience" for whole high pitched parts of songs (Coverdale for instance). Not Plant. As clear is it was almost 50 years ago. Luck or skill - it doesn't matter which. It's brilliant.
There are tricks to accomplishing these great performances as you get older. Unnoticeable to the crowd... They are playing the song with their instruments tuned an entire step lower. That way Plant doesn't have to sing as high. You just think he is. Still sounds great
I couldn't agree with you more - it's absolutely amazing. Listen to any other singer of their genre and age, and they're nowhere near able to get the same ranges they were able to when younger. Meanwhile, Robert Plant.........
