- Subtitled in Italian, here's one of the best moments in BSG series: Adama talks to the crew asking for volunteers for a desperate mission to rescue Hera, the hybrid child.

I really liked how not everyone volunteered. Was way more realistic
I love how he gives this speech like a real combat leader. No allusions to glory and justice or fluffy retoric. He lays it down straight and hard with no remorse. I'd be on the starboard side without any hesitation.
I would definitely have been on the Starboard Side. I go where Admiral Adama leads and fight who Admiral Adama fights.
@@jamesa.7604 Id chicken out, no regrets. Proud of having witnessed greatness but not taken part in it.
Roslin can barely walk, and is in obvious pain every inch of the way; still, she chooses to cross the line to go on the mission. Like or dislike her and /or her decisions, one has to respect that strength of will.
When the dying Roslin walks up to Adama to join the mission; sublime.
And the Baltar character's arc finally completes. He finally does something selfless for the first time since the show's beginning. Beautiful.
No, I think you'll find he's on the chickening out side. It must have been a bit depressing for the actor to read another bit of the script where he's just a slithering weaselly scumbag yet again.
@ he volunteers
@ he volunteers, he is in the final CiC shootout, he does it later I guess
@@davidlewis5312 he stays behind when he has the chance to take the last Raptor off of Galactica. Which is towards the end of part 1.
Love how, even with all that's been said and done between Bill and Lee, Lee is still the first one across that line.
"I will lead a raptor assault with anyone who is willing to join me."
This scene always brings tears to my eyes.
I would follow the Old Man ANYWHERE.
Roslin showing up is the most emotional part but my personal favourite bit is Doc Cottle trying to join the Rescue Mission side before Adama sends him back
"a Raptor assault, with ANYONE who is willing to go". I don't give a flying frak if you understand this show or not, this is all about when you have nothing left, nothing but the will to stand to your duty / ideals, principals. This is the little guy taking on the big guy, all, or nothing. Full respect to all the creators that captured our hearts and mind during BSG.
Preach it Son!! I completely agree with you!
David Vs. Goliath all again. Only at a more fundamentally crucial point.
Wow, when I saw Donnelly Rhodes (Doctor Cottle) cross the line, I just about lost it... especially when Adama stops him and tells him they can't afford to lose a doctor. Great scene.
I 'd follow the Admiral everywhere, that's a great leader fighting side by side with his men! SO SAY WE ALL!!
That's the reason he commands the best ship in the fleet. Only the best for the best. So say we all.
One of the best ever scenes from Galactica. So Say We All
I believe in the scene where he's the last one off the ship and he walks across the deck the line is faded but visible. The show was pretty good about continuity best I can tell.
Best scene of one of the best shows ever, I find myself coming back to watch this scene every once and a while to feel all the feels.
feels
Respect to the doc : )
Never crossed my mind, Madam President.
The love of Gaius Baltar's life, "a machine" with feeling and emotions, crosses the line to turn in shock that the coward would even hesitate in shame before her eyes. Such a surprise to her to be disappointed by him despite his history. "I thought he loved me! Doesn't he even care about the battle for humanity's survival?" - I imagine she might think. The "fracking machine" could not possibly understand some things, but some real humans could not do better. Well written and acted.
I love the way the Six looks at Adama at 2:19 as she walked past the line. Totally resolute
Fifty billion dead. No home. No hope. Forced to abandon the last battle star. I think not. I’ll go with adama for one last chance to do something that may or may not change fate.
I have the whole thing on DVD and this is why I can't watch it again. Yet. Even after all these years. I'm already emotional from the start of the scene and the doctor's volunteering tears me up, THEN Rosalyn comes and I completely lose it. 😭 The performances are too powerful.
Doesn't #7 also choose to go with Adama?
As soon as Roslin and Adama starts to play...oh man.
One question... ::salutes the Admiral:: When do we deploy, sir? Eddie Olmos FRAKKING ROCKED this scene. Belay that, the entire series! He was such a badass! He is incredible!
Adm. Adama. Everyone was able to survive and "find their selves" underneath his leadership. We need more leaders like him.
I would follow that man into the heart of dominion space, into the Borg collective, the center of the Scarran Empire, straight into Peacekeeper Territory, the heart of the Death-star, To the Gates Of The Klingon Homeworld and punch in the Face of Darkside/Thanos them selves
so say we all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
kiillerrob So say we all!
SO SAY WE ALL!
Decent leadership has made and broken empires so far, it is likely it will continue if we ever venture into space.
SO SAY WE ALL!!!
Amazing scene. Great shot at 1:29. With Adama in the middle and Lee and Kara flanking him.
I can keep it together until the President shows up. Dem feels!
Me too man. Then, the onion ninjas show up...
I wish I could click these thumbs up buttons many times.
I like how Bill help her to the side and Starbuck hold on to her
great stuff. got the serie on hd blureay, cant get enough of watching reruns, best thing made for tv ever, better than every fim ever made.... Ronald and David, you hit a GRAND SLAM !!
Watching them with Ron & Dave doing commentary is very enjoyable.
Best frakking show ever.
people who volunteered Roslin, Apollo, Kara Thrace, Athena, Helo, Caprica Six, the Final Five, Hoshi, Nurse Ishay, Hot Dog, Racetrack, and Skulls. Hoshi was later dropped and replaced by Balter
***** yup since he was third officer and The Final 5 were going he had to stay because they would have no one to command the fleet.
This and The Wire are 2 shows I watch multiple times and enjoy it as if for the first time.
I know myself. I'd be on the port side, thinking "This is suicide. I didn't come this far to die." But, deep down, I'd know that I would regret that decision for the rest of my life.
Until I saw Roslin. So frail, so tired of everything she had endured, and still willing to fight along Adama and the others. Then I would drag my coward ass to her side and swear the old man that I'd keep her safe, no matter what.
And the irony of it all is that even thougt Adama tell´s them to not make a choice based on feelings and emotions, most of the people who voluntered only did it do to the sheer strenght of the love they had for the Old Man, thats the kind of leader he was!!
Yeah my heart swelled when he gave that warning about picking emotionally, it's like he knew how many of them would react on instinct. Admiral flies off somewhere? Follow the leader!
Incredible speech.
I'd be over the line to join Adama in a heartbeat!
I cried in that episode and that scene, wow.
epic adama speech is epic
Captain sisko and admiral adama teamed up would have the cylons crying till they rust
Every couple months I come back to this video, it has to be one of my most favorite scenes from BSG.
I would have forgiven Baltar of everything he had done up to that point, if he would have crossed the line at this point.
Baltar joined the fight as a marine.
I forgave Baltar after Lee's brilliant speech at the trial... then immediately turned back on it when I saw how Baltar treated his near escape from execution. I can't believe he had the nerve to be outraged. He got away because nobody knew about Gina's nuke (which also means New Caprica being discovered is his fault too). How the frak was he not brimming with gratitude? I'm glad he took it like a slap to the face when Lee and Lampkin unceremoniously dumped him after their job was done.
If humanity ever gets fraked up this is the guy to call
It's unfortunate the parent company can't get their act together and make a new movie If ever there was a Sci-Fi genre that deserve to have its own major motion picture it's definitely Battlestar Galactica
I'd definitely be one of the first over the line on Adamas side.
Snowman20 I'd probably run across.
Would have beaten you to it.
So say we all!!
*SO SAY WE ALL!*
most emotive episode
That's a leader ! ADAMA 2020 for president !
William ... Fracking ... Bad Ass .... Adama
Man! He could give a speech! So Say We All!
Best show.
Ever
So say we all!
FOR GALACTICA!!! SO SAY WE ALL!!!!!
I would follow every single order he gave out
This is the most inspirational part in all of Battlestar Galactica.
My favorite characters are:
1. Tigh
2. Roslin
3. Adama
4. Starbuck
My favorite actor was Mary McDonnell. I thought she was amazing in this show.
She is an amazing actress, will watch her in anything, and Her character Laura Rosslin was one of the greatest characters in history. I cried at the last episode, when she died, her and Adama were great leaders. 😢😥😭
For anything sir, anything at all. *Moves to the starboard side*
love the pose he has with his son to the right and his daughter* to the left, perfect trinity
Crunch time.
Personally, I'd follow the Admiral.
SO SAY WE ALL.
Adama for president!
I'll stand if no one else will
Powerful moment.
@nessesaryevil thanks! Best speexh I've ever heard
My favorite speech is the one he gives in the end of Exodus Part I, right before the missions to rescue the people from New Caprica begins. Couldn't find it in youtube though.
.
Anyway, Adama is a superb leader. And a real one too, he too has his limits. Limits that were reached before the mutiny (no wonder it happened!). But he put himself back together and lead as he always did! I would be proud to serve under him.
This is the Admiral. You've heard the news. You know the mission. You should also know that there is only one way that this mission ends, and that's with the successful rescue of our people off of New Caprica. Look around you. Take a good look at the men and women that stand next to you. Remember their faces, for one day you will tell your children and your grandchildren that you served with such men and women as the universe has never seen. And together you accomplished a feat that will be told and retold down through the ages, and find immortality as only the Gods once knew. I'm proud to serve with you. Good hunting.
ADAMA 2016
8888alw SO SAY WE ALL!!!
@erentheca
First time I watched this scene I cried, ain't gonna lie. Most powerful series in television history. So say we all.
James T. Kirk? Never heard of her!
So say we all!!! YEEAH
To save a frightened child...I would take on anything.
Heart of Great Britain so say we all.
@Thelastslice They remembered their oath to be always faithful, and I guess those who sided with Gaeta during the munity, saw the chance to earn back their honor in one last Ooh-rah.
So say we all!!!
so say we all!
Admiral William Adama is a frakking icon, a symbol, the embodiment of bravery, determination, self-reliance, and humanity.
If there is anyone in Science Fiction i should call an inspiration to us all, the Old Man is it.
SO SAY WE ALL!
This scene goes to show what a bloody fantastic series this is. I'd be on the port side in a second.
Battlestar Galatica>All
SPARTANS! PREPARE FOR GLORY! (OUU! OUU! OUU!)
And back again.
Was it just me or did that woman behind Baltar look a lot like Kat?
Count me in, I'll join your mission Adama.
Two reasons why I love this show.
1. Everyone is able to forgive and carry on
2. The people deciding to send soldiers to die, actually go with the soldiers.
Unfortunately, these are two reasons why this is fiction.
Admiral Adam is what an Officer should be and then some, Roslin was the definition of Brave! SSWA!!!
No shit! This show was fantastic. Can't believe what little fanfare it got from the Emmy's, etc.
Emmys will never stop pissing on /our genre/ sci-fi
Baltar is my favorite character of the whole show. Starbuck is a close second. Everyone else is great but a distant 3rd and beyond.
SO SAY WE ALL!!!
My dad reminds me of Admiral Adama.
one of the hardest things to do while under pressure
The very personification of charisma....
@Seyhawk124, its called "the line" fun track to listen to :)
so say we all
all hail adama, SO SAY WE ALL
Doc Cottle is awsome.
@NihonKaigun, good catch there :)
If my commander is going into battle, I'm going into it as well!
So Say, We All!
As some of you have said i shall say aswell, i would follow the Admiral to hell and back and again. I am dissapointed to see so many people not joining but some have to stay behind.
So say we all
@KrazyKommieKiller
I agree with that. His voice alone is inspiration for me. When this first aired, I moved my seat so I was on the starboard side. :P
@TheHiddenFear yeah exactly, roslin has been full on good all along , brave! yet gaius has been cowardly since day 1, so for him to take the step against his own identity and way of life, for him to stand up and be counted, is more of a feat and a accomplishment!
@grimley1977 I just watched it. Thanks! Are there any more clips of say Ron or Michael?
SO SAY WE ALL
Imagine if Baltar actually DID cross that line RIGHT THEN AND THERE!
0:00 Bloody hell Helo's a big guy!
