That beauty shot of the old girl retracting her flight pods as she pulls herself away from her flock at the beginning is incredible.
Adama is the kind of admiral you'd be prepared to lay your life down for.
I'd prefer a real admiral, not an actor with a good script that has never risked anything.
@@dwightstewart7181 He's a military veteran IRL. Show some respect.
@@InquisitorMatthewAshcraft .. Who? Adama the character or the actor Edward Olmos? Olmos never served in the military. No veteran. I did serve in the military.
So say we all
So say we all!
I appreciate that look Six gives Baltar, after He questions himself why HE is there, yet doesn’t run away this time.... I believe it’s her(implied through her expression), finally seeing the man she started to fall in love with, that was buried under fear, self-loathing, selfishness and arrogance... finally, a Baltar for the better... what she hoped he was, the whole time.
“Galactica’s seen a lot of history. Gone through a lot of battles. This will be her last.”
Gets me every time.
That’s how I feel of my old Israeli Confederate Imperial Battleship Hamilton.. NCC-18581, Megiddo Class battleship of the line. A 35 year old battle ship that seen countless action.. She’s overdue for a massive refit or.. sacrifice her life in a Blaze of Glory... 🖖🥃😇😭🖖✡️
To be honest I didn’t think that she was going to make the jump let alone survive the battle at all. She was on the verge of breaking apart to begin with cause she is an old ship and the battle damage from being under constant attack, but she did it and made it to earth so I guess it was all worth it.
“Action stations!”

@@lawnmowermanTX Better her than the USS Liberty
Gotta love the look on Tigh’s face before the jump. He’s in his element and itching for a fight.
For me, this is the best scene in the whole thing. For the first time we really get to see, Adama, Tigh and Galactica all work as a propper front line war machine, no more convoy duty, this is what they trained for, all that pent up hostility. DS9 might have had siskos pimp hand, but my god, you can see why battlestars were feared, an almighty even godly amount of damage
Not to mention when the chips are down, Adama and Tigh play for all of the marbles.
And not to mention they don’t have a full crew
Or a fully ordinances ship. Or a ship with all its armor. Or a ship that isn’t literally rotting from the inside. Yet this beast STILL went in and came out on top.
Sometimes u gotta roll the hard 6
If we don't...it doesn't matter anyway.
I love this line. It's pretty much, 'we are doomed, let's go out swinging'.
I do like that Baltar sticks to what he knows when it comes to weapons. When he, Tyrol and the others are fighting for their lives, he was using the same rifle that he was using here. Say what you want about his shiftiness, but when his survival instincts are engaged, he's not afraid to grab a gun and stand there on the battle lines
I remember when our armored battalion was about to go out on an operation, we used to do this; calling every squad and unit on radio and checking everybody is set. The tension is hard to describe, but BSG did a great job portraying it.
TBH, Adama has given more riveting speeches. But for him to refer to this as "her last" battle just really puts it over the top. One way or another, this will be Galactica's last ride into battle...now, make it a good one.
ACTION STATIONS!!!

I may be wrong, but good little touch from michael hogan when he says "this is the xo". I donno if it was the emotion from the actor, or what, but theres a little smile there. Its like "im the xo of this ship, thats all that matters, whatever else i am, ill still be the xo". Given tighs challenges, i love that he goes into the last battle at the spot he was meant to be, xo and right hand to his bro. Given michael hogans challenges recently, makes me happy he has thst line there.
Those last two shots are so perfect. Tigh looking at Adama with just a hint of a grin, Adama just completely in the zone.
They are giving each other strength.
A lesser Battlestar would've long given out , broken under the strain. But Galactica, Galactica kept on going. It wasn't the constant battles, the constant jumping, the long journey, or even her final battle that broke her. She could bend but would not break, not until her solemn duty was finally done, she didn't break until she got her crew, her passengers, her family to Earth. She weathered it all, from the surprise attacks on the 12 colonies, to the infamous "Adama maneuver" over New Caprica, even then she didn't bend. She didn't break when she rammed the colony.(coincidentally, it broke before she did) She carried on as the last of the Battlestars outlasting her descendants, The Pegasus, Mercury, and Atlanta to name a few. What finally broker her back, wasn't that final battle in the colony. No, it was her final jump, seeing her people to safety at Earth that finally broke her. Nay i daresay it didn't break her, I say she had completed her solemn duty and realized it was her time to rest. She got the funeral she deserved where she led her fleet, the fleet of survivors she had shepherded as her flock, into the sun on her last mission.
As Admiral William Adama and Sual Tigh said in the end.
"To Galactica, the finest ship in the fleet."
Beautiful.
"A dying leader lead humanity to the promised land"
When they cut corners building it, it’s a good thing they didn’t cut the plot armor.
So say we all.
I cried...
The look on Saul's face @ 3:20 is like "One last time old friend."
“Once more in to the breach [,my old friend]” type of look
"You sure know how to pick 'em, Bill."
For me I think it it echoes "Brace for contact my friend" from the very beginning of the show. They share a look and they don't need words; once, ten, a hundred times these boys have gone into ops together countless times and never known if this really is the big one.
Admiral McCoy: Treat her like a lady, and she'll bring you home every time.
Admiral Adama: Gonna beat the hell out of her, but she's a tough chick. She'll get us home one last time.
American vs Russian ideology when it comes to technology. lol
Battered and broken, never beaten.
"We'll be too close for nukes, same thing goes for missles... this will strictly be a gun battle, like two old ships on the line slugging it out at point blank range...
I want the gun captains to do their job and start firing immediately, and to continue to fire until they run out of ammo.... then, I want them to start throwing rocks...."
Admiral Adama
Edward Metallion and yet we never see the guns firing in that final battle, that disappointed me a bit
Yes we did, anti-aircraft bateries. I think it would be pointless to fire with main bateries to colony.
Bíný no they don’t, watch the final battle again
I saw it many times, iam sure they did. Anyway i will watch again
Yes, they did. here it is at 4:20 ua-cam.com/video/LPbEvezZrWs/v-deo.html
Another hell of a speech from Adama
BigDykeWithABigByke it was to honor Galactica and her crew.
I loved those phones. Think I'll go tape my old Radio Shack phone to my dining table, wife will love it
Honey, dinner is a go.
Let's go round the horn.
*Picks up phone* This is your mother. All kids, prepare to report.
Sam: Go!
Haley: Go!
All kids report sir.
Connect me just to the dining room. This is your father. Just so we're clear, your mother's made a lot of dinners, seen a lot of history, this won't be her last. She will not fail us if you do not fail to complement her food. If you succeed in your mission, you can go do your home..work. If you don't, do your homework anyway. Action stations! start the clock.. start the clock. Eat on my mark, 5..4..3..2..1..mark
🤣 The finest phone in the house.
Actually, I have a similar system at home. Fracked the wife up when the speaker in the living room lit up, lol 🤣

Few scenes in sci-fy history can claim to be as epic, unique and emotional as this one.
Babylon 5 often put this show to shame.

So Say We All!!!
SHE WILL NOT FAIL US IF WE DO NOT FAIL HER
I wish I could see this show for the first time again.
The thousand mile stare of both Adama and Tigh makes it so very close to the real thing.
I love how they kept the museum stuff despite not needing it and even moving stuff off a lot of the ships on New Caprica.
Did they ever say what the story was with that old Cylon? Maybe the crew of Galactica captured it so it is more of a mascot/trophy for them.
It ties us right back to the miniseries. “It’s a gift shop now.”
I think having that old cylon there was sort of something to remind them what they were fighting.
Actually, it was homage to the original 80s series 😊
That flight pod got turned into a bar etc throughout th4 serris.
Adama was fantastic with a microphone in his hands. Best work
Adama's "if we succeed in our mission Galactica will bring us home" line reminds me of another Admiral of a different franchise: "it's a new ship, but she's got the right name. Now you remember that you hear. You treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home." Admiral Doctor Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, Star Trek TNG, S1E1, part 1, Encounter at Farpoint.
Same for so many ships in Sci-Fi. Defiant, Millenium Falcon, Enterprise (any and all of them), Voyager, Serenity, Moya, the list goes on...
I would have been very proud to serve on the Galactica under Adama. I would have followed him till Perdition Flames.
pat1981lux So say we all.
Caprica: I’ve been in more battle than you have
Me: you’ve also died more💁🏼
She has Killed more as well
But Baltar has saved more.
i take it back, he has killed more
Lol yup he wiped out the colonies
Certain chance of death. Small chance of success. Who wouldn't want to go?
A chance of 1 in Million that always works

Let me bring my flask full of my fire water.. Choctaw Nation!!
bingbonga binga would you rather go down fighting or not do anything?
nice LOR reference... what are we waiting for?
That "ACTION STATIONS" always gives me goose skins.
We need this kind of inspirational leader now.
I want Admiral Thrawn to run my military. But I want Admiral Adama as my commanding officer.
Who is Thrawn?? Star Wars?
@@leif1075 Yeah he is. I highly recommend the books canon or legends that involve him.
@@ethanneedham2380 yeah don't forget Maximilian and milia fallyna jenius as command duty officer and supervisor for military missions just in case.

Ha, the Cylon face at the end of the video lines up perfectly with the music playing as Galactica jumps.
I love this scene. I was waiting for this to be uploaded! (actually the scene directly after also)
Hi, it's nice that you still watch bsg :D
hey hey. Still love your music! :)
Man, I love that speech!! Give me he chills
How can you get better than this show? You cant.
Can we have the scene a little before this were Lee salutes the new President and Hoshi off the deck?
Still got goosebumps everytime I watch this scene.
Such a beautiful opening shot
Love how "Go around the horn" is a uniquely Terran term. "Going around the horn of Africa."
Damnit, just watched this video now I have to watch the full episodes again! Why is this show so bloody good?
Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
Firefly right? Gods it’s been a while
That was one powerful speech

Thrace wins the Evangelical vote.
No reboot can out do what this series has done. Epic.
This series was a reboot itself. Anything is possible if Hollywood would stop thinking in terms of profit and actually cared about making quality stuff.
A Battlestar galactica sempre" vai fazer partir, da minha História com a minha série favorita...
Jobson Santos Obrigado.
fact this jupiter was able to go thru 2 wars and still deliver.
“This is the XO…” is iconic.
2:28 this is one of my favorite monologues in all of media.
After years and new Sci-Fi series released ... this remains THE Sci-Fi series par excellence, period!
If we do not fail her she will not fail us and if we do it doesn't matter
A neutronium underwater basket weave is good for laser guns and space fold.
Galactica and the undertaker are battle worn old beasts that have taken so much but get the job done
For the 100th time gives me chills down my spine!
I have always hoped that "Around the Horn" was a Colonial fleet tradition, not just something for this one occasion.
it's a real life Navy procedure in a time of operation. After everything is confirmed only then does the Captain declare Action Stations/Battle Stations/ General Quarters
It's very similar to when a launch director, takes the final status poll of all operations flight controllers and senior flight management and range operations, mission crew, prior to a launch
Ahh, Gaius Baltar... you know, what most people fail to understand is that BSG is really "the story of Gaius Baltar".
Timothy Arnold how so? I mean, in what sense?
The redemptive arc from being the one who doomed humanity to the one who saved what became the progenitor to life on earth.
In the same way Babylon 5 is the story of Londo Mollari.
@@richardtaylor1652 dude... that is FACT. the most amazing thing about B5 is that when you meet J'kar and Londo on the first episode, they become completely different people by the end and swap good guy/ bad guy roles. Even though Londo is reluctant. Thats an amazing show.
Adama rules
Good show.
TAACTICAL!
Just watched the first half of the episode last night and plan to finish it tonight. Stopped at the point where Tigh promises Cavil they'll give them resurrection and Cavil got his forces to stand down. Was a good stopping point.
The old war horse off to one last ride!
After watching several clips today, I had to watch "Daybreak, Pts 1 & 2"'
I am a tearful, emotional wreck watching the best of Humanity Stand & Deliver!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they are fictional characters in a fictional world, but they still inspire hope for humanity in our real world.
Where people stand for what they believe in and go forward "to the end"!
I thought this was were laura was weak&sick and said "you didn't think you'd leave without me"
the only bad thing about any of these clips is that really annoying static sound at the end. now i watch these clips with the sound so low i cant enjoy it, but at least the static sound isnt so intrusive.
"Make it so!" Oops, wrong captain "So say we all!"
James Graves Cute.
" Start the clock...the board is green..."
Seems a more realistic depiction of FTL travel than warp speed.
Is Universal still going to do a new or reboot Battlestar Galactia series?
Putting Roslin in the sickbay was a brilliant decision by the writers.
How will I know?
Use this to put an X on the forehead of the ones we can't save. You'll know.
fk i love this mythology
Galactica is ready to be rediscovered by the UNN and the MCR into the Kuiper belt
I like how Baltar is wearing a proper military outfit and six is wearing.....a tank top?
she is wearing a tactical vest with extra ammunition and maybe grenades. A Cylon doesn't need to wear a helmet.
The Galactica gave them one last mission before she gave out.
The XO looks like John McCain.
John McCain was a Cylon so that makes sense.
2:56 So Say We All..!!!!!!
Mark 😍😍
Ishe knew she wasn't coming back from this. She did it anyway.
This is so unrealistic, they would have needed to launch the ship with no crew because of everyone's massive balls.
It still kills me that after all the years of running and the year spent floating above new caprica they never touched the starboard flight pod. Didn’t fix it didn’t clear anything out to house people just ignored it.
I think they didn’t touch it because it was a good site to relax and maintain moral.
It was kept as a bar, recreation, used for exercise and so.
Starboard Side.
"Put an X on the forehead of those that are too badly hurt. You'll know when you see them." Ok then what's the point of the X?
down to my odd teeth. I'm coming for you!
No one taught Baltar trigger discipline.
The galactica looks really small in the first scene
andrew craig she may look small but she is a very big ship with an important mission
The water was cold.
The ships around it are the industrial ships and bio-ships, which are huge.
Instead of having computer generation cylon robots I would actually have people in costume like they Did in the 1970s cylon robots
Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss
💵💵💵💵💵
Baltar's a doctor. Why isn't he working in sick bay?
If I found out that a few my crew members aboard my ship were turned out to be cylon I would have them arrested and taken off my ship and put them on a planet with Enough supplies to last for one year
:50 mirroring pearl harbour.
I don't know if this was deliberate or not for his inexperience, but it looks like Gauis has his finger on the trigger. That's not a good thing.
its so Canadian.
No estén.os Vi
This show deserved a better ending.
Bold guy's role in the show to repeat orders. What else he can do?
It is common for the Commander of a ship to give the orders and for the XO to repeat them. This helps prevent mistakes and confirms to the Commander what has been ordered and executed.
Kathic Makes total sense. To prevent mistakes.
Get massively hammered on a regular basis. Run a guerrilla army. Knock up an enemy. Kills the woman he loves because she betrayed the cause. Not bad for a one-eyed 2000-year-old skin job.
On a ship it is the XO who gives out the orders-hence the term "executive". In case he has a better idea he will not give out the orders and give suggestions.
This isn't Star Trek or Star Wars where the captain has to tell the crew directly for narrative effect.
I like the original ship Battlestar Galactica it looks way better imagine if they had one episode or three episodes where they went through a wormhole for example and they ended up in the Alpha quadrant in Star Trek Near Deep Space Nine where they find the original Battlestar Galactica from an Alternate time and they find Star Trek starships like the USS Yorktown USS EXCELSIOR NX-2000
No. Just no.
Funny thing, in one background, Enterprise made a subtle appearance in the original mini-series
Wife.
I Don't like this New version of Battlestar Galactica I like the original Battlestar Galactica it had finesse it had charisma
