Inga, you did a FANTASTIC job! Everything looks 100% legit and I'm glad you enjoyed everything. Thanks for using my recipes for this challenge, and hope you'll do it again! - Pailin
I always appreciate Inga’s plating. Even when it’s something simple like rice and skewers, she always plates it in a way that is so fancy. I love seeing the dishes that people eat on a day-to-day basis plated this way. It shows so much love and respect for the food!
I love Thai food. I've been learning to make it over the last few months. Some of the ingredients are a bit hard for me to find but I've been doing my best to work with what I have!
Fun fact: Thai people don’t make Moo Ping at home. It’s a real street food. I’m glad that you made the dishes the street-food way, the way we actually eat them in everyday life, not those hotel-twisted ways. Applause 👏 👍 (I feel like Rad Nah is half Chinese tho. Well, nothing wrong with it. It’s like many Thais nowadays 😂)
Watching this at 1am Thailand’s time rn, my stomach is growing already. Everything looks so so good. Actually tho the Holy basil and Thai basil are two different things. Holy basil or Kra Prao has rounder and harrier leaves. And Thai basil or Ho Ra Pa is the one you’re using. I hope you could try making one with the Kra Prao cuz it will give you a different taste and smell. But the Ho Ra Pa is definitely easier to find abroad tho. I use Ho Ra Pa as substitute too when I was living abroad, to fix my homesickness hahaha. Love all your videos! You’re awesome!!!
theres this really small stall at my farmer’s market thats just a single lady growing and selling every kind of basil available and she had holy basil and its so hard to describe the difference between the two. so much more aromatic than anything ive had

The nice thing about this series is... Its quiet, just talking mostly. New recipes she is trying out, a honest judgement. Also when things could be better or worse. It makes you wanna try it yourself, because it feels so honest and not too tricky.
A good tip for replicating a slow grilled skewer is to use longer metal skewers that sit atop the cast iron. Put the heat on high and then rotate the skewers every 5 mins for a total of 20 mins.
For people wanting to dive into Thai food in the EU, there are a couple things which might be helpful to keep in mind: - Europe has a lot of online retailers for specialist Thai ingridients that aren’t all that expensive and which import fresh ingredients regularly. If you don’t live in a large or capital city, you might struggle to find a Thai grocery store like in the video. - Good coconut milk makes a huge difference. Don’t skimp, and get the stuff with the highest coconut content. As a general rule, the less water and preservatives, the better it tastes (in my experience). - Because it is especially prone (relatively speaking) to harbouring diseases, Holy Basil is quite hard to find in the EU because it’s export to certain places is often constrained by Thailand to avoid strikes against its broader agricultural exporting (this is according to a major U.K. thai food importer). ‘Thai basil’ in the EU (and U.K.) is often not Holy Basil, but is Thai Sweet basil. They’re not the same and will taste quite different (still probably delicious though). - Buy some proper fish sauce. As with the coconut milk, these are base flavours that pull a lot of weight, and if you have stuff of an inferior quality and taste you will be able to tell in the final result. Squid is a cheap, cupboard safe brand I’ve seen supported by chefs and cooks both in and outside of Thailand and it’s widely available in Europe.

I would definitely recommend feijoada with churrasco for lunch, and, for dinner... Wow, there are just so many options! Seeing your take on these recipes would be so interesting!
Moo ping looks on point, my step son loves these, he eats them all the time. Greetings from Chiang Mai Thailand. My wife she love Rad Na. Pad Kha Paw Moo is my favorite.

Some of our famous dishes are Feijoada, coxinha, quindim, pao de queijo, picanha abd many more but these are definitely the most known ones.
As a Thai, I think you did EXCELLENT. I really appreciate to not only see people cook Thai food properly, but also made some things that not just Tom Yum Kung, Pad Thai or Thai green curry. When I watched you video, it makes me think that sometimes I'm too far away from Thai cuisine. I forgot how long I haven't had Pandan custard. I think I'm going to make it by myself soon :) Some suggestions : I think that if you use lower heat for Moo Ping, you will have a better result. I usually see it make by grilling and glazing pork together(I think it's some kind of sauce), and it will make Moo Ping more shiny and juicy.
Thai cuisine is da bomb ! Sweet, salty, spicy, sour, fragrant - Yums ! There are some similarities within South East Asian cuisines - the noodles dish looks like Cantonese Stir Fry Kuey Teow (Wat Tan Hor) and the dessert custard looks like Pandan Kaya Coconut Jam we have here in Malaysia. And you should definitely try that MAMA Coconut Tom Yum instant noodles !
This is well made, the breakfast is really accurate, and if you put the pork skewer in a plastic bag, some of the juice will seep out and that liquid is so gooddddd. p.s we also eat hot soy milk with the youtiao (fried dough) or cut up over rice congee for breakfast.
i'm malaysian but my mom was born in thailand. my late grandma grew up there too. everything that you cook here is basically what i eat growing up. oh my godddd i can't stop drooling! i love how authentic eveything looks. i hope to i can travel to thailand again soon. i miss the food!
I find Inga's voice so chill and homey. I had to watch this video twice because first time I fell asleep and woke up when another unrelated video started playing.
Omg I'm so excited for the next cuisine!! Hopefully you can make Malaysian food next . It would wonderful to see all Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine all in one day!!!😃😃
as a Thai, I think Moo Ping is so underrated lmao. when I was in the states, this is one of those foods that i rlly missed back then. so im rlly glad that you made it. aside from that, everything looks AMAZING and on point. maybe even better than some restaurants in Thailand, i would say. and from the looks and the dishes, you truly did the research and nailed it all nicely. thank you for sharing Thai Cuisine (that is other than Pad Thai and Pad See-ew hahah). also, im hungry and it’s 11pm in Thailand omg.
Awesome job with these recipes, Inga! Regarding the Muu Ping, a common technique I noticed a lot when I lived in Bangkok was that the meat was cut into even smaller strips and when skewering, the vendors would alternate between meaty and fatty pieces to layer in a way that gave a texture variance and helped the whole thing sort of fuse together in the cooking process so it didn't fall apart when it needed to be flipped.
it was only in he vid for like 2 seconds but MAMA is hands down my favorite brand of instant noodles. you don't even have to be able to read to tell the flavor b/c all the packets have little pictures of ducks/shrimp/pigs/etc... the pork with eggs is life changing.
love ur episodes all around but love this one especially because it’s just representing the food I love and my culture and seeing inga enjoy it is just so awesome
absolutely great video, the balance of authenticity to accessibility in every item u pick is always fantastic in this series, and as a huge thai food fan i enjoyed this one especially. i am not entirely sure, i’m not thai, but i’ve heard that thai basil and holy basil aren’t actually the same thing? not sure if that’s true but i think it is supposed to be
Omg you did such a good job! I’m half Thai and everything looked amazing and made me want to eat it all. I miss eating moo ping from the street vendors in Thailand with sticky rice. Maybe I’ll finally commit to making it at home myself after seeing your video. I also love Pailin’s recipes!
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Thoughtfulness, thoroughness, & absolute genius throughout! WOW. Seriously - you deserve your own cooking show! I used the Pork Skewers Breakfast recipe just last week!
Inga! You've done an amazing job! Great work ❣️ nailed the Thai's style fried egg perfectly. You always have high respect for food. I really appreciate your work. Thank you for doing this ❤️
I'm glad I'm not the only person who can't find wide rice noodles in any sort of pre-packaged/pre-cut format. One of the Thai restaurants I used to go to made a really good Rad Na with broccoli and chicken and I always wanted to find a way to get those rice noodles to try stir frying them myself because they're so amazing.
ooh! we call it kaya here in singapore and we usually eat it smeared between toasts / steamed buns with a slab of butter + soft boiled eggs and coffee. it’s my fav breakfast in singapore
@@PailinsKitchen no thank you. Through you I discovered Thai food...I'm born Thai (growing up and living abroad). My mom just said "watch and buy Pailins Kitchen book and videos" Best ever!
Thai food is one of my favorite food of all time! All of these look delicious.. well done Inga! Anyways please make Indonesian food for 24 hours when you get the chance, Indonesian food are also real tasty 😋
thai basil and holy basil are two very different ingredients :o thai basil is more pungent and has a licorice-like, medicinal taste while holy basil is sweet and peppery, so one cannot be used in place for the other. because holy basil is much harder to come by in the states, italian basil is often used as a substitute because it more closely resembles holy basil than thai basil does.
they all look AMAZING!! your moo ping is so nice, I've never made one at home before so it's nice to see you making some. The basil thingy still bug me till now, in thai they are just ka-prao and ho-ra-pa but when we look into eng name it just bruhh what it's confusing.
Thank you for always giving so much inspiration to cook. Initially, I did not like to cook but after watching ur video, I fell in love cooking so much. Thank you once again! Hope u continue to work to make nice and healthy dishes for all to replicate!
the fermented soybean (豆醬) is a product of chinese in south east asia to substitute fermented black soy bean (豆豉). in indonesia, singapore, and malaysia, we call it tauco or taucu
Pandan leaves have two type, and both have different function... The fragrant one, are use for adding fragrant to the food.. The non-fragrant one, are use for food coloring because it has more deep green color than the fragrant one...
Moo ping looks good. They burnt because they were not grilled. That’s why they are grilled. Pad grapao should NOT have beans or onion in it. That is blasphemy. I blame the recipe. Rad na looks good. Just not enough broth. Over all, I think you did a great job, Inga! Thank you for doing this :)
You are so adorable, your video made me feel hungry. And i think it should help somebody who interested in the food to follow u like i do. Thank you for made my day.
yes, that dessert custard is what we call "kaya" in singapore and malaysia, also popular in thailand. its very popular as a breakfast as well, good in between 2 toasted bread slices. you should try that next time! :)
You did AMAZING! Every single dish is spot on! I couldn’t help but keep nodding in approval while watching this video😂 Also I watched this video after dinner but when you plated up that Pad Krapao, I felt like going out to get a dish for myself🤣 People already mentioned about the basil choice but I understand that Holy Basil is quite delicate and is super hard to find abroad so Thai Basil is a common substitute :D (their aroma is different though) I also love the fact that you chose these dishes. All of them are common dishes you can find anywhere in Thailand and I think they’re pretty good choices for people who want to get into Thai food, eating or making. Cheers from Thailand!♥️ Ps. Your pronunciation of Thai words is good! Thai people would definitely understand those :)
mama noodle is my fav noodle at all times. here in malaysia, we called rad na “ladna”. also, i love “somtam” and “kerabu maggie” too. i don’t know if it’s the right word for the dish but that’s what we called in malaysia. i live in malaysia and thai food is a common food in malaysia. love this inga! good job! 👏🏻✨
Those dishes look pretty legit and I think they might taste than those sold at some of the food stalls here in Thailand. You did an awesome job for your first try. Great video and lovely personality.
I love your 24h Serie. You could try german food😃 Müsli for breakfast, krautschupfnudeln for Lunch, grüne Klöße and Krusten raten for dinner and apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce for dessert. I am confident you would rock this
Try making Indonesian food edition! XD Some ideas for you: - Bubur Ayam/Nasi Kuning/Nasi Uduk for breakfast - Bakso/Gado-Gado/Ketoprak/Rendang/Terong Balado for lunch - Siomai/Batagor/Pempek for savory snacks - Soto ayam/nasi goreng gila for dinner - Es Teler/Es Campur for dessert You can mix and match them as you like ~
this makes me miss home Inga. everything looks so authentic. I’m thai I love Pailin’s recipe. ps. I think many ppl told you this already but the leaves you got are not kraprao (holy basil) but I understand it might be hard to find. taste remains the same only the smell will be different
Wow you did such a good job! I make Pad Krapow Gai a lot. I have been to Thailand many times especially the North East and love real Thai 🇹🇭 food and culture so much. At first I thought you were Thai as you look just like my friend Ann. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😋🤗
1 thing I learned if you don't want your foods to burn so easy use a Korean Wok Pot, it will like steam everything but you do have to be quick if you put the heat on high or the water will dry out very fast, I have cast iron pans too and yes the burning foods is very easy with them
watching this in Thailand right now, there are so much more Thai dishes that Inga could do but the one she chooses are pretty good. Hope you are able to come visit Thailand some day and eat all the street food
i had all these dishes while studying in thailand-- brought back so many good memories!! esp. getting moo ping & sticky rice at the street cart every morning before class :)

Everything looks so good, Inga! I want to try every recipe especially the noodles one 🤤
Indonesian food next pls 🙈
I think this is the easiest so far. Will try this!! Thank You!
i’m a simple human, i see inga: i click.
Cheers from Thailand!♥️
Ps. Your pronunciation of Thai words is good! Thai people would definitely understand those :)
mama noodle is my fav noodle at all times. here in malaysia, we called rad na “ladna”. also, i love “somtam” and “kerabu maggie” too. i don’t know if it’s the right word for the dish but that’s what we called in malaysia. i live in malaysia and thai food is a common food in malaysia. love this inga! good job! 👏🏻✨
I just recently tried egg over rice (leftover risotto). The person who thought of that first needs to win some kind of award, it was delicious.
So glad to see you trying out different cuisines with utmost dedication! 🤍
Those dishes look pretty legit and I think they might taste than those sold at some of the food stalls here in Thailand. You did an awesome job for your first try. Great video and lovely personality.
I love your 24h Serie. You could try german food😃
Müsli for breakfast, krautschupfnudeln for Lunch, grüne Klöße and Krusten raten for dinner and apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce for dessert. I am confident you would rock this
Try making Indonesian food edition! XD
Some ideas for you:
- Bubur Ayam/Nasi Kuning/Nasi Uduk for breakfast
- Bakso/Gado-Gado/Ketoprak/Rendang/Terong Balado for lunch
- Siomai/Batagor/Pempek for savory snacks
- Soto ayam/nasi goreng gila for dinner
- Es Teler/Es Campur for dessert
You can mix and match them as you like ~
Pad kra pao is my absolute fav - was living for it when you ate that egg
Great job and ty for sharing this video
this makes me miss home Inga. everything looks so authentic.
Love Pailin Kitchen UA-cam!!! She has wonderful and delicious recipes!!!
this is one of my favourite types of videos yay!!!!
Thais know that adding onions and string beans in Pad kra pao is a crime but i love being a criminal, lol.
oh wow traditionally there's no onions in the dish? not even shalots?
@@zoulzopan yep, just pork and holy basil.
@@zoulzopan that's right! It's basically a meat dish with herbs (the basil).
@@PahMadPig for me the string beans are still acceptable but the carrot is not
very excited for this video about someone who doesn't sleep or leave the kitchen for 24 hours, completely committed to the Thai
like a hotdog eating contest but it's rice noodles
if inga did cambodian food, i would explode from sheer delight
I'm really happy watching you cook and enjoy thai food. You're so lovely.
Today, it's the music choice for me! 👍🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i had all these dishes while studying in thailand-- brought back so many good memories!! esp. getting moo ping & sticky rice at the street cart every morning before class :)
What a perfect day! And you did really well!
