Open gate isn’t just good for “fix it later,” it’s also really useful for stabilization in post, cropping 35 to 50mm 16:9 you can get a gimbal-like effect
This camera is massively underrated. Fuji’s new addition of the XS-20 seems to be spot on as well for amateur or new starter film makers. Mad specs on a great little platform. Glad they’re getting the recognition they deserve for all their hard work. Great video.
Only drawback is the 1250 base iso for flog2. Makes daytime exposure more difficult and more noise to contend with, even if it is cleaner. Hopefully the next gen will have it around 640.

Yeah, many video's are too 'vibey' or too saturated. With this camera, the colors (especially in F-log2) are actually amazing with just a simple LUT. Punchy, natural but artistic, rich, colorful, with a cinematic twang.
The XH2s open gate image in pro-res is one of the cleanest and easiest images to work with. Fujis LUTS always look great and it’s so nice to be able to just throw them on for a quick grade on fast turnaround projects, but you can push the image around a lot in post when you have the time.

In a CST I transform it from REC2020 Arri CLog4 to rec709, which works pretty fine. I was little bit disappointed by ALL-I and expected a way smoother playback. Somehow harder to encode then Long Gop

I find that the IBIS system seems to work best with non-native lenses (once the focal length is specified manually in the IQ menu). I haven't done any scientific comparisons, but it always looks and feels much more natural to me for whatever reason. I'm happy you made this video - it's amazing how quickly dismissed and underrated this camera is relative to the competition, and you are really nailing it's strengths here and I agree with you on all fronts.
I totally agree. When I am using manual lenses on Fujifilm bodies I sometimes even reduce the stabilization a bit (For example: when using a 50mm lens I tell the camera body it's a 35mm lens) and I like the results a lot more than native lenses. Also thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it
That's an interesting point about "reducing the stabilization - I generally seem to get the best results when I "match" the literal focal lengths, but I'm going to revisit this and experiment more. I work with a speed booster on some FF lenses as well and I find it stabilization always works better when I apply the "math" (i.e. 35mm FF with a .71 speed booster I would set at 25mm in the I.Q. menu).

Are you guys having QC issues? I was mounting the tilta's cage the other day and I felt my H2s kinda loose. All the botom screws were 1/4 turn loose. It's an amazing camera but that scared the sht out of me
This camera seems to apply a very heavy chroma noise reduction in camera and a more subtle luma reduction aswell. It will definitely affect color fidelity. Much better to have all of that turned off in my opinion or done minimally at least
This is also why people tend to say that Fujifilm noise looks so good, because color noise is suppressed. This is also applied to JPEG images. It’s only avoidable in photo raw images unfortunately.
