The best Xh2s footage I’ve seen. This just shows that you don’t need a full frame fx3. Most people on UA-cam aren’t getting images like this out of their xh2s
The only reason to ever shoot fullframe is simply for the sensitivity of the sensor. There's literally no other thing an aps-c or even a mft camera cannot achieve. I've got an aps-c which is my main camera and a fullframe for a b camera. It only ever comes to use for 2 reasons: it has about a stop or stop and a half of more sensitivity than my aps-c and so for shots that are dark and moody the aps-c won't fare well since detail loss occurs from noise even when removed. So a shot that is noisy at f1.8 iso 800, my fullframe needs to go iso 2500 to the same level of noise. That's when the fullframe comes out. Second is the way my aps-c camera pixels bins 1080p footage. 1080p looks absolutely horrid. It skips 77% of the photosites, meaning only 1/3 of the pixels are used while reading the full sensor. My fullframe can read 100% of the photosites and bins 9pixels to a single one. So if your aps-c camera can deal with all the conditioks you give it, a fullframe camera is just extra weight. Don't believe these youtubers with their pyramid scheme sale tactics
@@shueibdahirdoes your full frame have noise equivalent at 2500 iso and f1.8, or stopped to f2.8 (equivalent light to apsc f1.8). A lot of noise comparisons compare the same f stop between different sensor sizes. e.g. my Bmpcc 4k at f2.8 is equivalent to f4 at apsc, and f5.6 at FF
Incredible video! As someone who has been tossing up between the fx3 and the xh2s, it’s your videos that remind of just how capable the xh2s is and that a full frame camera isn’t needed to achieve the look and aesthetic I want. The footage is so clean and your colour grading is the cherry on top of it all. Really inspiring
You’re such an inspiration to me. Constantly you make me want to push and follow my dreams. Everything in your videos is absolutely the same vibe I strive for. Thank you for all you do.
Looks great. I've dabbled in the projection anamorphic lens world for some time, I own the Schneider Cinelux - can be a bit of an extreme look that 2x stretch. I've always liked the look of the Aviascope which seems more balanced
Hey Sam, another Sam here! At this point I’ve been a subscriber to you for years. I’ve always had a passion for photography, and through watching your videos, and seeing the rich movement and emotion in them, and seeing the beautiful landscapes they showed, it filled me with so much wanderlust. I also want to thank you for everything you do for your community, your engagement and your honesty. And with that honesty, everything you talked about I truly felt even though we’re in completely different worlds. I’m 19, and just moved off to college to study aerospace engineering, and man I was not ready for the way it took over my life just to stay afloat, and as a result of that, I went through a similar breakup having to walk away from a girl I loved, and with moving away, and trying to find the man I am as a result of that, I still feel alone, despite how many wonderful family and friends I’m surrounded by. Hearing someone who I’ve been inspired going through similar struggles is truly affirming, and this video has impacted upon me more than any of your videos before, which I didn’t think was possible. Stay strong Sam, we’ll all be here for you
First of all amazing video man you inspire me in my carrer daily. Second of all Do you ever feel like their is a green tint when using manual white balance on the xh2s on the kalvin counter and you have to adujust it in post or by shifting to red in camera
Hi Serr, I love the content that you put out, very inspiring. Can you recommend what CFexpress cards to use with the Fuji XH2S for 6.2k ProRes/RAW recording?
Epic looking footage man! I'm so stoked to came across your content on UA-cam. Super inspiring! Quick question on your Metabones adapter, is it still the one you used from 1 year ago (Metabones Canon EF to X-mount T)? Any issue with the auto-focus? Thanks again.
Hi Serr, thanks for sharing your beautiful images and your camera setup. In the previous videos you use SmallRigs, in this video Tilta. Are there any mayor differences? Which one do you prefer? Thanks!
Frustratingly low sharpness, but great composition and color. I blame the stack of focal reducer and anamorphic adapter, both of which will mangle the image.
I wonder what that anamorphic adapter is, I’m looking to buy the sankor 16d, but after seeing yours, it looks much simpler to build. Guess I’ll wait for the future video then.
How are you finding using the PT6 with Open Gate on the Xh2s? I just got mine! I'm loving for my video work, but having trouble making it (Open Gate recording) work with external monitors!
can you make a tutorial and do you have suggestions for uploading from davinci resolve and how to make quality bettter when uploading social media platforms? I have my footages on 4k but when i render and upload them they look like crap
you keep on inspiring me man. Is the ibis on? I can see some anamorphic jelly motions on some shots. I figured it won't happen to xh2s because of the fast readout.
Hm, I couldn’t spot any of it. Mind giving a timestamp? I’m curious lol. I did notice points where the adapters distortion could almost look like ibis wobble during some shots though
At 5:25 when the cam pans, the background becomes wobbly. I've noticed that when using an anamorphic lens specially when using ibis. I figured rolling shutter is more pronounced on anamorphic.
@@eldricarpilleda I see! To my eyes, it looks like the effects of the adapter’s distortion. Curious to know what Serr has to say though. I do remember him being one to not use IBIS and the IBIS wobble is definitely amplified with anamorphic glass. Cam Mackey is really big on anamorphics and in one of his recent videos he spoke about it and also showcased the effects that the distortion of some anamorphic glass can have on panning - it looked similar to what is seen during Serr’s shot. And thank you very much, happy to have you a part of the team! Got some cool things coming soon, planning to pick up the pace of my upload frequency as well lol.
@@Eyeofkamau Oh ok that's probably it. Yep i've watched that particular video of cam. I just thought having a faster readout will lessen it. I'm noticing a lot of those distortions on my footage on my xs20 with an anamoprhic lens. I was thinking on upgrading to the xh2s to resolve the issue. Apparently, it's a "quirk" of anamorphic lenses.
@@heymiike I believe he did edit all the footages first (including the text transition scene) and then graded with his own filmvision grade that included the blur & gate weave nodes all of which can be done in davinci with ease
Good to see your face brotha! Beautiful footage as always. I look forward to our collab!
oh damn, this gonna be good :)

Great video and camera rig! 🔥🔥🔥
If I didn’t know I’d think this was all shot on a Arri. The xh2s in the right hands is an incredibly powerful tool. Awesome footage man 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I love you man. Watching your journey and work inspires the heck out of me. Can't wait to see what comes next
the music choice along with this footage is fire!
Man. Your videos are always so tasteful. Love it!
Your videos keep me inspired. The color, the tools, the vibe, and the brown representation 🤘🏻🇲🇽 I see it all 🔥
This looks so good bro. Can't wait for the anamorphic adapter breakdown. Never thought much about them but these frames are making me think otherwise.
What a beautiful video. I like the colors so much. Especially the scene with a red shirt.
Beautiful footage, as always! Looking forward to future anamorphic greatness from you
Appreciate you Ed!!
The aivascope is a so good option to obtain a vintage but share anamorphic image! Love the way it looks 🔥
Good to see another video from you ❤

Such a clean build. Cant wait to see more of your anamorphic work!

Love the color grading, cool anamorphic look!

Awesome video dude. The Aivascopes are so good and I love that 60mm taking lens focal length. The 55mm you have there is cool.
Definitely looking to get that 60 to pair with it soon!

One cool thing u can also put to your rig is FAN-001 by fuji that for only 200$.
Can you/ do you have a tutorial on how to use "cinematic" like texts (you do in this video) in davinci resolve? Love your videos
Dope, I’ll have to try anamorphic some day.
Was that Geoffery Browne taking photos of the car? I used to skate with him back in the day in Ventura, what a trip.
