She actually cut her hair somewhere between when this came out and this video because it used to just barely stop short of the floor. It was stunning. You're correct that she's a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and stage presence all day long. For years climbing up the charts she hid the fact that she was Loretta's sister because she wanted to succeed or fail on her own merits not as "Loretta's little sister". Can't blame her really. By the time she started her own career Loretta was already the queen of country music and a shadow like that is hard to overcome. They grew up extremely poor in Kentucky coal mine territory and had a hell of a long climb up to get to these heights
As an 80's boy I have always been in love with Crystal Gayle's long beautiful hair and her amazing voice, starting with this song. Even now, I would love to make her brown eyes blue.😍😉🤣
Crystal is one of those that changed the sound of country music forever. She had several crossover hits. Loretta of course was country through and through.
On a biography video about Shania Twain, someone said something to the effect of when she came to Nashville they didn't know what to make of her because they had never seen such a beautiful country singer before. I think he was forgetting about Crystal Gayle.
My Mom used to love this song when she was alive. She sang a duet ” Just you and I “ with Eddie Rabbit. I remember singing it with Vanessa, a friend from school. Thanks, Tasha for the nice memories on a rainy day
Their cousin Patty Loveless is a very successful country music singer as well, some of her songs include "Chains " , "How Can I Help you to say Goodbye" , "Blame It on your Heart", "I Try To Think Bout Elvis" , "You Don't Know Who I Am"
Tasha knows Patty Loveless really well. Lord knows I have requested Patty many times in her livestreams lol. 😂She reacted to “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” and “How Can I Help You Say Goodbye.
That’s Andy Gibb!!!! One thing Crystal was known for was her long hair! At times it was dragging the floor. I saw her in concert in 2015 and she can still belt it out!!!! And her hair was still so long!!!
This came out while I was a wee one before I even knew the difference between blue & green 🤪 All I remember as a kid about Crystal Gayle is her hair went down to the ground just about lol. But I discovered this song in the 90's and fell in love. Great song from an underrated great artist.
Thanks Tasha! The first album I ever bought for myself was a Crystal Gayle album, I wanted her hair for myself.. I also wanted to be able to sing like that. I could never pull either off. I would love to see your reaction to Talking in Your Sleep. Thanks again for a great reaction!
I looked for Tasha’s reaction to “Talking in Your Sleep” by searching my watch history, as well as the TNT and Tasha channels. I couldn’t find it. Maybe it was part of a live stream.
Beautiful singer beautiful woman Native American and let me mention that her hair is down to her ankles, The sister of one of my favorite country singers Loretta Lynn, and cousin Patty Loveless
Amazing voice! This is for me one of the best female singer ever. 🎵🎤 Another song reacts to: Crystal Gayle & Loretta Lynn Live at Boston pop. Thanks Tasha for your reactions! 🙂
Actually, yes, there was one other sister as well as a brother that had successful Country music careers. I can't remember their names off the top of my head. In fact, the other sister write one of Loretta's early hits. I can't remember their names off the top of my head. There are a few great videos with all of them together on talk shows talking about their family and careers.
So, despite being sisters, Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle don't sing in the same style or sound alike because Loretta Lynn and Peggy Sue Wright (their other famous singing sister, their sister Ruth decided not to be in the spotlight) are all a bit older and raised in Butcher Hollow (Holler), and Crystal was raised in Indiana...different environments and experiences. I love all three of them, Loretta, Peggy Sue, and Crystal Gayle (born Brenda Gail Webb...Loretta actually picked the stage name Crystal for her).
She wasn't really county musician she filled that gap 1970's older parents listen to Barbra Streisand. If you were a teenager in the 1970's weren't listening to Crystal Gayle. I think Crystal wanted to be different then Loretta come up with her own style. Now that I'm older I like her music I listen to all kinds of music.
Her hair went down to the back of her knees. Wow!
Thanks for leaving the herd (path of other reactionists) and exploring these artists.

I remember when this song came out. Talk about a heart throb. Hearing her sing this song drive me crazy as a young man.

I love this song… and while I remembered that she was beautiful, I forgot just HOW beautiful. Stunning.
That hair though… I was a little kid when she was really popular & I had a big crush on her. I still love that hair!
I was always amazed by her hair, she has a beautiful voice too. 🤣

Yeah, her hair is a little shorter in this video than I remember.
Beautiful talented woman with such grace and poise. I love the bluesy element of this huge crossover country classic song
I love this song! Funny thing, I always thought Weird Al Yankovic could do a version of this and call it " Doughnuts make my brownies blue!" Lol!
Loretta’s twins, Peggy & Patsy, put out some records, as well. They recorded as “the Lynns”. You should give them a go.
Great song! Haven’t heard it in a long time!! Thanks Tasha!
Love this song...great request Allmirth!
Crystal had a duet with Eddie Rabbit that is one of my favorites, called "You and I".

Some other good ones by her are:
• Why Have You Left the One You Left Me For
• Half the Way
• You Never Gave Up on Me
And “You’re the best thing in my life” 😍
I've always loved this song! Great Reaction!
been forever since I heard this song, and omg I had forgotten that amazing long hair of hers
She definitely has those bedroom eyes...and that hair. Hubba Hubba 😍
Most definitely lol she's gorgeous

As a girl, I would sing this song every time. But, of course I had the lyrics wrong, "Gonna make my brown eyes blue" 🤣🤣
Crystal Gayle 👀👀👀❤️❤️

The piano alone makes this song worth listening to. Although Crystal sings the heck out of it.
Andy Gibb misspoke when he said she released the song in 1978--it was 1977.
it really helps to have Floyd Kramer play piano in the studio...

She is still touring
Really?! Wow
@@tashajackson she was recently on the TV show Larry's country diner on RFD TV and I believe she said she was back in the studio making new music
Crystal had 18 No.1 hits which was more than Loretta had.
Tasha Jackson listen Pam Tillis spilled perfume
Classic
Try reacting to Tom Jones, " I'll Never Fall in Love Again," or Marcelito Pomoy, " The Prayer," on radio station 107.5 in the Philippines.
That hair is long!
