Also, I can't believe reporters especially as bad arss as Jeff German are not always strapped up and hyper aware
      Especially leaving Your Home .
I am always head on a swivel and especially leaving the Home & that's just from watching this type of stuff on the psychos of this crazy world
let alone if I were in a position of reporting on it . Stay Strapped .
Stay Strapped . The more legal , righteous firearm owners the safer a society We will be .
As scary as it may be to some people it is just facts that when the criminals are out numbered and by intelligent people with the proper skills & training then the safer law abiding citizens are . Criminals are far less likely to take that chance if they are most likely going to meet someone ready for their BS .
      Much Love 🙏

On his headstone, at the bottom center is engraved "-30-". It's an old journalism thing. Back when they transmitted stories by teletype, the story had to be transmitted in small chunks. When an article or story is complete, you typed -30- so that the ones typesetting the story would know that was the end.
A fine tribute to an old school journalist - the end of his story.

Thank you for this information. I was wondering about that number 30 when I saw the video. You are right, that was a fine tribute to a type of journalist we seldom see anymore.

Well I can hardly believe it, surely you are a godsend! Thank you very much for taking the time to post this information 🙏
I just seconds ago asked myself what that -30- could mean , and I concluded that it may be a US means of plot numbering...unlikely to be on the headstone, but that id never know for sure, and here I find your explanation...
You are indeed a gem, as it was puzzling to me. I spend a lot of time in historical graveyards & unfortunately visiting my own beloved dead,
burial being a big part of our Irish culture, yet I had never seen that -30- before, it puzzled me. Greetings & thanks again 💚☘

My best friend was Chauncey Bailey He was the Editor of the Oakland Post and he was murdered over a story. The story that he was murdered over eventually did take down a very powerful organization in Oakland. It is truly heartbreaking. I would love to see 48 Hours do a story about Chauncey he was truly a remarkable individual.

A successful and respected journalist, Bailey was about to expose a corrupt business that held itself out as a pillar of the Oakland black community. In reality, it was run by a bunch of rapists, fraudsters and thugs. True to their nature, they killed Bailey as he was working with an insider to expose the business' current financial treachery. Bailey, who was also black, cared far more about the truth than the fallout of exposing the "man behind the curtain" in his community.

I had a bully boss exactly like that at Business Insider. He came in after I'd been there three years, isolated me from my colleagues, told me I wasn't allowed to talk to them directly anymore, and started bullying me constantly. His behavior was exactly the way abusive men treat their wives or girlfriends. He even took credit for my work, admonishing me and my co-editor to be careful not to allow unfounded allegations to go to print when it was him who did that and me who fixed it. Ultimately, his treatment caused me to have an emotional breakdown and cost me that job. I wish him nothing but a life of hell.

Anyone who questions the importance of preserving independent investigative news media should view this episode. A sidebar comment: as part of the judgment around his domestic battery charge, German's alleged killer was ordered to attend a "corrective thinking class." I cringe whenever I hear about this (commonly referred to as "anger management") in a court order. It has no value --zero-- if the person a) doesn't accept that he has a problem and b) isn't committed to changing his behavior. That's true in almost all cases (where mandated by a court order) and clearly was true here.

Rest in peace sir and thank you for your service to the people and your community. Now your murderer will spend the rest of his life in prison hopefully 🙏 I hope the victims of this murderer will forgive themselves for what happened to their favorite reporter.

How did a punk like Telles get a public official title in the first place?!
I admire the 4 women who exposed the tyrant Telles.
The Mayor's office and City's Management office which oversees the smaller public offices have a lot of explaining to do.
They also should be brought up on charges of dereliction of duty, incompetence and aiding and abetting a monster.

Holy crap. When Van Sant called this an overwhelming case, that was a bit of an understatement.
In all my years of watching this show, and others like I have seen many cases this clear cut. Telles might as well have done it on camera and sent to to the police.
