Her real name is Brenda Webb. Her sister, Loretta Lynn, renamed her Crystal Gayle for her singing career. Didn't want people to get confused with Brenda Lee. Crystal has many songs. Some of my favorites are "l'll get over you," "Somebody loves you," "Why have you left the one you left me for," "Half the way," "Talkin' in your sleep," "Wrong road again." Every once in a while, you can hear her sound like Loretta on certain notes. At one point, her hair went down to her ankles. I don't know how she doesn't have headaches all the time. I guess she's used to it. Both her & Loretta are beautiful women.
Eyes like Cleopatra, hair like Rapunzel, and a voice that can melt the polar ice cap. The young man who introduced her was Andy Gibb, the youngest brother of the BeeGees.
Back in the 70’s….. this song was in rotation on radio with all genres of music. Rock, yacht rock, country, disco, we learned to love all music !!! Not like today 😕
Andy Gibb was so handsome doing the introduction. I always loved this song but the studio version is way better for me Another song of hers is "If You Ever Change Your Mind". She really shines on that one. Glad you got to see her sing and swing that beautiful hair.
The hair actually got longer. However, she is stunning. Try out Our Love is on the Fault Line, You've Been Talking in Your Sleep, Half the Way, Wrong Road Again, Sound of Goodbye, and You and I (duet with Eddie Rabbit).
OH MAN! I remember when that one came out. One of the classiest, sexiest, sultriest songs ever, and sung by one of the classiest, sexiest ladies ever! Good one Harri!
I've always enjoyed Crystal Gayle's voice. She is a great country music singer & is the younger sister of Loretta Lynn. She is known for her floor length hair. She had a lot of hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "Cry Me A River", "I'll Get Over You", "Wrong Road Again", Ready For The Times To Get Better", "Talking In Your Sleep", "Half The Way", "You & I" etc.
From Chrystal's 1977 album, " We Must Believe in Magic", Loretta Lynn's sister had a huge hit with this tune. Written by Richard Leigh, who had previously written her other 3 Top 10 hits, another Number 1 hit. From the signature acoustic piano riff, the soulful sax and Chrystal's beautiful vocals, she won the 1977 Grammy for Best country voice and Best country song. Just a beautiful song. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Katherine 👏👏 Cheers from Canada. 🇨🇦
Charming, classy song that broke through all the disco and rock tunes in 1977-78 to become a hugely popular hit. I'm hopeful the other requested song is her 1982 duet with the late Eddie Rabbitt, the Top 10 song "You and I." It was one of the most classy romantic songs of the '80s, and still sounds swoony and terrific to this day.
Thanks for referring this song Catherine. Great song. But I have to laugh when I hear it because it reminds me of my daughter singing it. She was 5 yrs old when this came out and she said the song was DONUTS Make My Brown Eyes Blue. We couldn’t convince her of the actual lyrics so she always sang it as Donuts. Thanks Harri for your reaction. And yes that is her real hair. She was known for that as well. 👏👏🇨🇦
Maybe lost in the shadow of her old sister Loretta Lynn, she made a good run herself. Wrong road again, have you left the one you left me for, when I dream, are all classics.
Crystal Gayle is an amazing singer that is deserving of more reactions. I see her come up so rarely on the reaction channels that I get excited when I see her. Thanks for this reaction.
Yes, that was the talented Andy Gibb introducing Crystal--he hosted Solid Gold. There is another video of Andy singing with Crystal on this song & another of hers, If You Ever Change Your Mind--it is EXCELLENT & was NOT lip-synched--I swear Andy could blend voices in duets with anyone❤
Thanks Catherine. Was that Andy Gibb introducing her? What show was this? I was always fascinated by her hair. This is a great old familiar song. It certainly got a great deal of airplay. Nice reaction Harri🌺✌️
Seems like the accompaniment was overpowering her voice in this version. I like the studio recording better and maybe there are better live versions also. Not sure but I compared it with a couple other examples and it seemed obvious. Still beautiful though.
I saw Crystal Gayle perform here locally in our city in the 1990's. She was oustanding. She has a great stage presence . Not only is she beautiful but she is very gracious . She did a meet and greet with her very appreciative audience. What charisma !!
Hi Harri - Thanks for doing this one! I remember when this was all over the radio no matter which station you listened to, and it was always one of my favorites. I do think the live version you played, although fun to watch, was musically not as good or as satisfying as the studio release. That one had an absolutely epic production that didn’t have Crystal’s voice buried in the mix like this. You could hear every word and every soulful nuance in her delivery, which I think contributed to what made it such a crossover hit. I hope you’ll do yourself a favor and listen to the studio version with a spin some time. Just listen to the first sentence and see if you don’t agree. Maybe it will leave you wanting more. I love your channel! Keep up the great work, sir.
I remember seeing her perform this on TV when I was a kid back when this dropped and thinking to myself, "Wow, she's so beautiful!" and also, "Wow, her hair is sooooooooo long!!" Haha. Over 4 decades later and I still think she has the most beautiful hair of any singer I've ever seen... and one of the prettiest voices too. Classic song!
I wasn't really a country music fan but there are times whern country is much closer to blues which I do listen to and I enjoy those. This was one of them.
Her real name is Brenda Webb. Loretta Lynn already signed Brenda Lee and Loretta liked Crystal. You can see the interview on her earlier song, let me be there.
This is a poor recording, the orchestra is drowning her out, and I don't know why she's whispering. Stage presence? Is there something wrong with her neck? She can't seem to keep her head on, it's about to fall off. Yes, that is really all her hair. Listen to a different performance, her voice will come through stronger. You can probably tell, I didn't care for this performance at all, and I do think she is a good singer singing a good song.
Andy Gibb introducing her. The best-looking Gibb brother next to Barry
It's always great to see Andy but it's also bittersweet 😢.
Crystal is the younger sister of the country music great, Loretta Lynn.
Stunning in her looks and her vocals.
Her real name is Brenda Webb. Her sister, Loretta Lynn, renamed her Crystal Gayle for her singing career. Didn't want people to get confused with Brenda Lee.
Crystal has many songs. Some of my favorites are
"l'll get over you,"
"Somebody loves you,"

"Half the way,"
"Talkin' in your sleep,"
"Wrong road again."

"Brenda Gail Webb"--her middle name is where Gayle comes from in her stage name.
I understand the need to react to a live performance but the studio version was much better. Lovr this and 'Half The Way' too!
This was always played on rock and roll radio stations also!
Her sister is Loretta Lynn also another famous country singer!
Great information I forgot that.
Beautiful song by a beautiful lady. Love that hair.
Eyes like Cleopatra, hair like Rapunzel, and a voice that can melt the polar ice cap. The young man who introduced her was Andy Gibb, the youngest brother of the BeeGees.

There's a beautiful duet medley with Crystal & Andy on Solid Gold. Tried to post it but YT don't let me!
The hair actually got longer. However, she is stunning. Try out Our Love is on the Fault Line, You've Been Talking in Your Sleep, Half the Way, Wrong Road Again, Sound of Goodbye, and You and I (duet with Eddie Rabbit).
Loretta Lynne's little sister. She had such a nice voice & loved her song's back in the day.
Now youre in the groove! Talkin In Your Sleep next PLEASE!!!!
I lived in Van Lear, Kentucky, just down the road from where Crystal Gail and Loretta Lynn grew up. They were always favorites of mine.
she is 72 now . She had a great voice . Her sister Loretta Lynn was a lot bigger in the country music but she could hold her own.
and looks pretty dang good for 72. Soes not look her age
Crystal has always been my favorite. I was always in love with her and I’m gay. lol. She’s so special. Her and Loretta.
OH MAN! I remember when that one came out. One of the classiest, sexiest, sultriest songs ever, and sung by one of the classiest, sexiest ladies ever!
Good one Harri!
Crystal Gayle is beautiful all around, beautiful woman, beautiful voice, and great hair
Beautiful song by a beautiful woman. It's been a long time since I heard this. Thank Harri!!

That hair, maybe the most beautiful in modern music era. Lush voice and lush hair.
The music is too loud compared to her mic. Better mixing in order. She has a great voice.
Great first reaction to the stunning Crystal Gayle. If the second one isn't 'Miss the Mississippi' you might want to consider a third.

One of the most beautiful faces and voices ever

Rapunzel had nothing on Crystal Gayle. Great song. Lovely lady.
Love this. Shes a treasure
Maybe lost in the shadow of her old sister Loretta Lynn, she made a good run herself. Wrong road again, have you left the one you left me for, when I dream, are all classics.
I absolutely loved this song in the 70's.
Beautiful voice and the best head of hair ever.
"Somebody Loves You" Please!
Crystal Gayle is an amazing singer that is deserving of more reactions. I see her come up so rarely on the reaction channels that I get excited when I see her. Thanks for this reaction.
What a voice
And yes, beautiful.
My dad had a crush on Crystal as well as Barbara Mandrell. We used to watch The Mandrell's variety show weekly.
The guy that introduced her was Andy Gibb of the Bee Gee family if memory serves me correctly.
Gladys Knight - Late Night Train to Georgia - were some of the first great pop song that I remember.
Try her huge hit "Cry"
Thanks Catherine. Was that Andy Gibb introducing her? What show was this? I was always fascinated by her hair. This is a great old familiar song. It certainly got a great deal of airplay. Nice reaction Harri🌺✌️
I noticed Andy Gibb as well ❤
Solid Gold, Andy hosted it for a while.
I know you like the videos of these songs, but the recordings are so much better imho. Great music though. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching!
Seems like the accompaniment was overpowering her voice in this version. I like the studio recording better and maybe there are better live versions also. Not sure but I compared it with a couple other examples and it seemed obvious. Still beautiful though.
Great request. Wonderful analysis Harri! Wondeful reaction.
She’s gorgeous!!!!
That lady was gorgeous, and as you said, with a gorgeous voice to match!
I saw Crystal Gayle perform here locally in our city in the 1990's. She was oustanding. She has a great stage presence . Not only is she beautiful but she is very gracious . She did a meet and greet with her very appreciative audience. What charisma !!
Beautiful song by the beautiful woman 😍
I’ve always liked this song.
her hair was omg so long and beautiful.
CRYSTAL GAYLE IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SINGER AND DEFINITELY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN I'VE EVER SEEN
Thank you Harri! ❤❤
Good slow dance tune back in the day.
I've always thought Olivia Newton-John reminded me of this wonderful artist. Not listened to this one for years. It should be played more.
Hi Harri - Thanks for doing this one! I remember when this was all over the radio no matter which station you listened to, and it was always one of my favorites.

Yes, she was Loretta Lynn's baby sister.
Also did the definitive version of 'Someday Soon".
I think so too and there have been quite a few versions.
Wish they'd mixed her voice a bit higher, the music covers her gorgeous voice at times.
I always thought this to be a blues song in my mind when it came out when I was a kid. I loved it then and now.
I wasn't really a country music fan but there are times whern country is much closer to blues which I do listen to and I enjoy those. This was one of them.
She's actually still kind of good-looking in her early 70s, in my opinion.
If you see some earlier video clips of Crystal you may see she has actually cut her hair quite a bit.
Harri, this is Loretta Lynne's sister!
nice to see Andy gibb
Do You Don't Miss The Water Until the well Goes Dry it's another good song by Chrystal
Her real name is Brenda Webb. Loretta Lynn already signed Brenda Lee and Loretta liked Crystal. You can see the interview on her earlier song, let me be there.
That hair is beautiful. She had Native American in her family.
I was in high school when this was a hit. A school yard joke was what did the Eskimo sing sitting on an iceberg?.. don't it make my brown eye blue?..
Probably as famous for her hair as for her voice.
🤩🤩🤩
Fun fact: Her eyes are actually blue. 🙂 Not a huge country fan, but always liked this song.
Her hair grew to the floor!! I think i saw it with even a few inches ONTO the floor once!!!!
Why are these amazing singers forgotten?
Shpuld so listen to her album of duets wuth Gary Morris, as well as Gary's music.
They recorded the theme song from Another World, a daytime soap opera.
Her hair grew even longer
Great song. Only Rapunzel had longer hair then Crystal.
Andy misspoke--she released this song in 1977, not 1978.
👍
did you notice how long her hair is. wow
This is more like soul than country to me. It’s probably the instrumentation, but just imagine Roberta Flack or even Barry White singing this.
Try the studio recording its better than the mix here
Studio version is better. Here she's more interested in how she looks than how the song sounds.
Check out the length of her hair, nearly down to the floor.
I saw Elvin Bishop pinch Crystal on the butt and he got slapped.💯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Harri Crystal is Loretta Lynn's sister
Beautiful song but man how does she wash that hair? lol
It’s sexy and sweet 😍💕
OMG 😂that's Andy Gibb, SOLID GOLD TV show. Wowwww, she's not singing unfortunately, nobody sang on SOLID GOLD😊
Loretta Lynn's sister
