A very useful Jig to mark a lot of things | Making a Marking Jig

- I saw a rather interesting jig on Instructables. It was a Even Distance Divider. I thought that this thing can be very useful in my workshop. But i wanted not just have the possibility to space screw holes evenly in distance. So i came up with a few ideas to increase the options/applications.

Fantastic!! Excellent!! Bravo!!
You show how precise the jig is... But don't forget to mention that it also shows how precise you work is! Congrats! I have discovered your channel and I'm loving it. I have subscribed. Thanks and keep up the awesome work. Very inspiring.
Thank you so much. I'm glad to read that.
This is ingenious, thanks for posting it. I cannot imagine why people would thumbs down this.
People have thumbs down because this jig is a replica of woodpeckers tools.
Instead of buying one in China, I'll make one myself this weekend, Thanks to you.
Fantastic!
I wish the last 3 minutes would be at the beginning so I can see straight away what the thing is useful for and how it works before deciding whether I want to find out how to make one.
WOW that is wonderful and really accurate.
Thank you
Great video, i'm going to have to make one of these for myself. a useful tool to have for layout i'm sure
Thank you.
Wie immer eine sehr coole Idee
Dankeschön.
love your videos , any one ever told you ,you sound like Arnold sawana. swanx sawarz , ffs the terminator. 😅
Very Good idea !!!
Thanks
EXCELLENT INSTRUMENT.
Thank you
Very cool.
Thank you.
What a great jig ...you keep amazing me with your clever idea's.
They are always very useful and there is always more options / application in them, than you first see...
many thanks for showing and please keep up the good work ;-)
Thank you very much. 😀
Excellent tool. Excellent demonstration of the use of the tool. However the 5X speed of the video makes it very difficult to tell exactly the construction and assembly of the tool. Please, in the future show everything in real time. If something has to be done multiple times show it once and then say that it has to be done to each piece.
Thank you. I'm glad of any criticism of how I can do things better. Be it the video editing or woodworking.
youtube allow to slow down the video speed. just click the gear so see the options. better yest, save the video and play offline with VLC
Very nice.
Thank you
Cool
Thanks!
A wonderful idea. I would sure like to know the dimensions of the strips and hole placements, even if in metric. I'd like to try to make this.
Thank you. The length of the strips are not that important. Important is that the middle hole is exactly in the middle between the other two holes. And of course, this holes should be on every stripe identical. The distance between the outer holes on my jig are ca. 170mm
Irwin make a mini chuck. It has the quick release to use in an impact driver but can be used in any drill. I think it holds bits as small as .6mm
Thank you for that info.
Thanks, could you share the measurements, please
Watch the answer to John Treble . The dimensions are not important, but the distances of the holes you choise. They have to be exactly the same. You should have learned it at math lessons at school.
I like your work. Your designs are well thought out and your construction methods are excellent, near perfection. One thing, though: when you are making your videos, you don’t need to include all the repetitive cutting sequences. When you say “Next, I cut all the strips to the same length,” we believe you, and we do not need to see all those strips being cut to the same length; that’s just a waste of our time. We know what repetitive cutting is like. Just show us the final result by showing us the stack of strips you cut. Keep your audience in mind when making your videos. Keep up the great work. I follow you closely and am learning much. (I’m in marketing and publishing; thus my comments come from experience).
Thank you for your comment. I think it's good if you give me tips how I can make the videos so that they are more comfortable for you to look. You are the spectators. And I actually make the videos for the audience.
Top Idee
Dankeschön
So what stops the rivetts grippping the wood too tightly together and stopping them from being able to rotate
I think the right size of rivets.
@@ISIMPLYBUILTIT ah,and so the length of the rivetts and the width (?) of the wood after recessing creates a snap off that doesn't make the joint too tight
Exactly
Very cool I was gonna try and make one using tongue depressors from the dentist.
Good idea
Me too.
Very good dear
Thank you.
You are very creative! You wouldn’t want to sell one of these would you?
Why round off the opposite ends of the struts? Extend that end far enough to allow for a marking point holes falling equally set out as the point tips settings. Everybody 'wastes' the opposite end, why? Use it to make a different mark locating method.
That's a good idea. But that's good enough for me.
@@Het.Totresh.01
@@alexa.429 ..

Where are the measurements? I would like to make this
The length of the strips are not that important. Important is that the middle hole is exactly in the middle between the other two holes. And of course, this holes should be on every stripe identical. The distance between the outer holes on my jig are ca. 170mm. The width of the strips are 16mm.
Plenty of drawings with measurements on Google/Bing Images.
mag ich ... geiles Helferlein
Danke Dir.
I wish you could give me some in person wood shop classes! I am a single mommy of three and have never built, drilled, or used a saw in my life! And I thought I was goi
G to just jump right in and it would not be hard to learn. Went out and bought table saw, mitre saw, bandsaw, router, and several other things and it is VERY HARD. NOT very easy to learn through videos. I need a hands on class
super !! aber mit Untertitel stimmt was nicht ...
Danke Dir.
Great jig, but camera work not so good...
Thanks
You could have shortened the video. We don't need to see you cut EVERY stick or drill EVERY hole
